Description

I have a group of 6 F1 Neolebias ansorgii from a Congo collection point. I will try my best to send even sexing. I have been trying for years to get a Central African locality of this species, as they are much nicer than the Western African ones regularly found in the trade. I finally ran into luck and got a small wild group from Boma in the Congo. These also turned out to be one of the colorful types! It is also fairly close to the type locality of N. ansorgii which makes it interesting. The photo shows a male that while happy, is not in breeding colors. Even when resting, you can see that they don't have the central stripe as you see in other N. ansorgii. When breeding, the red colors around the head brighten, as does the yellow color in the lower half. Absolutely beautiful! They are bold fish, easy to keep and they like to display among themselves. They act a bit like tiny cichlids. The original fish were pricey, but to me well worth it. The 1" long males are just little gems. Perfect for an African Congo biotope. If your low temperatures are above 50 degrees I can ship these for $22. If it is hot, I can ship express for $55. I guarantee live arrival on either method.
