Acropora Corals

According to NOAA Fisheries Endangered Species listing there are many Acropora species threatened to near extinction. Man should not take nor harm our oceans coral reefs or one day it all could be extinct. With that in mind, the conscientious reef aquarist supports acropora farming or acro gardening. Cultivated acropora has become the best choice for scientific research, best purchase choice for display reef aquariums, and best choice for saving our coral reefs through coral reef restoration.

Description The ORA Verde grows fast in compact,thin branch, bushy colonies. The acro's tissue is a beautiful Sargassum green color while it’s polyps are bright neon green. New growth appears pinkish when this coral is growing under strong lighting. One very important point to consider when purchasing all our aquacultured SPS corals is that they are not just mounted frags. Think of our captive grown (also called Aquacultured) Acropora as Baby SPS acro's all sized between 3/4" and 1-1/4 inches and are all mounted on 1/2 inch diameter plugs.

Description Plum Crazy is a deep purple or plum colored Acropora with relatively short branches. Colonies grow in pillow-like or corymbose form. When growing under intense lighting, new growth is a dazzling light purple and corallites appear to be highlighted with a light blue edge.

Description The Purple Nana has thin, long and straight branches with a dark green base, purple tips and white polyps. It does resemble an Acropora valida but the Purple Nana has thinner branches. This relatively easy to keep SPS coral requires medium to high lighting and will do fine under T5s, metal halides and LEDs. Moderate to strong circulation is recommended for optimal growth.

Description The ORA Purple Plasma is a thin branching Acropora with staghorn coral shape. It has a dramatic purple background color and contrasting green or yellow corallites and bright green polyps. The polyps are always well-extended and new growth appears white to baby blue.

Description : The captive grown Blue Tip Evergreen Staghorn Acropora is a long branching coral with a deep green base, green polyps and contrasting bright blue growth tips. It is also important to note that our captive grown corals are cultured from corals that have been raised in captivity for at least 3 or 4 generations. This makes these harvested corals hardier than their wild cousins. Being fully encrusted, allows them to ship better with less stress when compared to fragile and newly fragmented counterparts.

Description : The Purple Tri-color Valida is a classic among acroporas. It has thin branches and well spaced tubular corallites, the colony can reach a large size. This is one of the easiest adaptable species. It has a deep purple coloration on its tips that fades away as we descend to the base and green polyps in a very striking way. Description The Turquoise Acropora Staghorn Coral is a very fast growing coral that will grow long and slender branches that will in time resemble the antlers of a deer. These are very beautiful corals with a deep turquoise color on the base, and a much lighter blue coloration on its growth tips. Description The ORA Green Planet is an intensely colored, tabling Acropora that exhibits very similar morphology to the ORA Red Planet. It has fluorescent green tips with a dark green base and polyps. The ORA Green Planet is hardy and fast growing under a range of conditions but actinic lighting really brings out the extreme fluorescent coloration of this coral.

The ORA Green Velvet is a stocky, short branched coral with a deep metallic green color. Mature colonies grow to have a thick, stout body and irregular, odd branches. The corallites tend to be long and tubular and the polyps remain retracted during the daylight hours giving this coral a smooth appearance.
