Acropora Corals

According to NOAA Fisheries Endangered Species listing there are many Acropora species threatened to near extinction. Man should not take nor harm our oceans coral reefs or one day it all could be extinct. With that in mind, the conscientious reef aquarist supports acropora farming or acro gardening. Cultivated acropora has become the best choice for scientific research, best purchase choice for display reef aquariums, and best choice for saving our coral reefs through coral reef restoration.

Description The Pink Loripes Acropora has Pink/Purple growth tips and long thick coralites or sub branches. A very unique form. The exact color of your coral tips will depend on the intensity of your lighting. In reef aquariums where the lighting is higher kelvin, predominantly blue in appearance, this coral will display many fluorescent shades of light green accented with iridescent pink, and blue colored corallites. In lower kelvin lighting (whiter lighting) scenarios this beautiful Acropora displays a creamy lavender color while the corallites will appear plum to purple in color. One very important point to consider when purchasing all our aquacultured SPS corals is that they are not just mounted frags. Think of our captive grown (also called Aquacultured) Acropora as Baby SPS acro's all sized between 1" and 2 inches and are all mounted on 1/2 inch diameter plugs.
