Waito’s Oil Paintings of Crystals
Born in Toronto, artist Carly Waito is known for her elegant artworks and sculptural installations inspired by the natural world. With a focus towards geology, geometry and light, she paints in oil the complexities of crystals and gems visible only on close inspection. Waito’s capture of light and reflection are what fix the viewer in place.
Carly Waito graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design, she co-founded the ceramic art and design studio coe&waito with Alissa Coe in 2005.
