The Carolina Renaissance Festival, reported to be the largest in the eastern seaboard, is held every fall from the first weekend of October through the last Sunday before Thanksgiving. While it is said to be in Huntersville, it really has become its own little village called Fairhaven. During the festival, there are a few hundred residents, another couple of hundred that commute in to work, and reported to be over 200,000 annual visitors.
