Descriptions of all fossil Archaeopterygiformes (1 Viewer)

A problem with the Archaeopterygiformes is whether they form one or more genera or one or more species. Solving this problem is inpossible for me. That is why I split the species as far as possible. The specimen have a number, and a name refering to the museum where they are housed, I will gave the numbers and the museum.

Fred, could the original description (of the Berlin ;) specimen) possibly be this one?

If so, the "Archaeopteryx Siemensii" is found on page 829 (here):

A. siemensii, on p.829.jpg

Hopefully of some use/help?

Hi Björn,

Sorry for my late reaction, I had a computer crash.

Your contribution is very helpfull and I indeed think it is the original descriptio9n of Archaeopteryx siemensi Dames, 1897.

Fred

Glad to be of help Fred (and sad about your computer crash, I actually started to wonder where you were, as I haven't seen you here on BirdForum for a couple of months). Welcome back!

Meanwhile, I think I have found a few other missing pieces (of yours), to be posted in due course (in its proper Paleontology thread/s).

You'll see ...

I noticed the Sci-Hub links are broken so here I will load up the papers I have.
