There is a new name at the top of the list of richest Tennesseans, according to latest ranking of The Forbes 400, in which the magazine lists the richest Americans.

Nashvillian Thomas Frist Jr. and family, at No. 92, were deemed the richest in Tennessee by Forbes, with a net worth of $4 billion. Frist's net worth has grown by $1.2 billion since August 2011, in large part thanks to a 44 percent growth in the value of HCA's (NYSE: HCA) shares. Frist is the company's largest shareholder.

Frist ranked No. 130 on Forbes' previous list, coming in behind Martha Ingram, former chairman of Ingram Industires. Ingram, of Nashville, now ranks No. 151 on Forbes' newest list, with a net worth of $2.7 billion.

Ingram is followed by Brad Kelley of Franklin, founder of tobacco company Commonwealth Brands. Kelley is ranked at No. 250, with a net worth of $1.9 billion.

Next is Fred Smith, head of Memphis-based FedEx. Ranked at No. 271, Smith has a net worth of $1.8 billion.

A new Tennessean on Forbes' latest list is Jimmy Haslam of Knoxville, brother of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, and who recently stepped down as CEO of Pilot Flying J. At No. 360, Haslam has a net worth of $1.2 billion.
