  • Golden Banded Coral Shrimp are a beautiful red and gold striped shrimp with long white antennae. Unlike a lot of shrimp, they actually have claws that make them look menacing. They occasionally act as cleaners towards your fish too. They look very attractive in a reef, mixed reef, or peaceful tank. They tend to hang out in caves, and become more active at feeding times. Females tend to be larger and have a purple coloration underneath. They are very aggressive towards one another, and should be kept one per tank, or as an established pair. If two non-mated shrimp are put together, the larger (usually the female) will rip the arms off the smaller one, and may eventually even eat it. Almost the exact same care as the Banded Coral Shrimp, although they don't get quite as large.
