My Streamer
Jaime from CAGUAS, PR on 4/28/2024
Have had it for 6+ months, excellent streamer, the app works perfect, easy set-up. It DAC is very good, although I'm using it as a streamer only combined with the Cambridge DAC Magic 200, interconnected thru the coaxial output. Has a SSD connected to it with all my cd-music available, works flawless.
Pros: Price, small footprint, app-controlled
Cons: None

If you want to stream high resolution audio, this is the best product in this price range. Should have bought one years ago. Audiophile quality. Give this one a try, you will not be sorry.
Pros: Easy setup.
Cons: None so far.

Cambridge Audio MXN10
Jeffrey from N Ridgeville, OH on 3/3/2024
I didn't think much of the Cambridge StreamMagic software. The only other streamer I've tried is the Bluesound Node, and the BluOS software is much easier to use and does things the StreamMagic can't do. I returned the MXN10 after 2 weeks of frustrating set-up problems, which may have more to do with my network than the MXN10.

For me, I downgraded from some pretty expensive streaming equipment/DAC to the MXN100 and I must say this little box is holing its own very well. Sounds wonderful to me with analog out to a Schiit gear and SF Lumina II's. It's small and easily forgotten about on the desktop. Press a preset button on the front and music starts playing. Has been on almost 24hrs/day without a hiccup since I bought it a few weeks ago. Works perfectly with Roon. Handles DSD with ease. Solid little music player that sounds great.

Solid, simple streamer
Nolan from Charlottesville, VA on 2/8/2024
I'm typically not interested in aesthetics with audio gear, but this is probably the best-looking streamer (without a display) that I've seen, and the build quality feels premium. Makes total sense to add this to your system if you have other silver Cambridge Audio components. The simple design/aesthetics of the StreamMagic app seem to mirror the physical unit, and this can be a blessing or and a curse. In terms of the number of features and adjustable settings, WiiM's app is superior to any of its competitors' apps, but I can also see the appeal of a straightforward app experience like we get with StreamMagic. Some other differences for those deciding between the MXN10 and a WiiM Pro or Pro+: 1) you're limited to one active output at a time with WiiM, but all of the MXN10's outputs are active simultaneously, 2) there is no hand-held remote control option for the MXN10 (the WiiM comes with a hand-held remote), 3) there are no bass/treble/EQ adjustments in the app for the MXN10 (WiiM Pro has an advanced EQ in their app).

Just what I wanted. I have the output of this unit connected via Toslink optical cable to my Schitt Bifrost DAC. Analog output of the DAC is connected to my Schitt Midgard headphone amp then onto my Meze 99 Classics headphones. Sweet! Thanks Crutchfield.
Pros: It's all good
Cons: None

Excellent streamer that's easy to set up
Michael from Hoboken, NJ on 1/23/2024
Purchase and shipping experience was excellent (as usual with Crutchfield). The unit is great - super easy to set up and the IOS app is very intuitive. Cambridge has some great online resources that enabled a non-tech savvy person like me to be able to play music from my PC hard drive (that's in another room) through the streamer. Connections to Spotify, Mixcloud etc work really smoothly. Sound quality vastly improved compared to the Bluetooth link I was using before.

Affordable HiRes Streaming
Guest from Silver Springs, FL on 1/21/2024
I bought the MXN 10 about a month ago. So far I am very pleased with my purchase. The StreamMagic software is fantastic. The software is very easy to use and multiple family members have their own access to stream their own content. Initially, I used RCA cables to connect my streamer to my Marantz AV 7706. I was unimpressed with the onboard DAC on the MXN10. I switched to a coaxial digital cable to use the DAC in my Marantz and was blown away. I stream HiRes Flac files from Qobuz and the sound is next level. I am very happy with my purchase and I do recommend this product.
Pros: StreamMagic software is fantastic The unit is small Multiple outputs RCA, digital coaxial & optical
Cons: The onboard DAC is only ok

Great plug and play streamer + DAC
Andrew from CLINTON, WA on 1/7/2024
The CA MXN10 is a great option for someone looking for a quality streamer + DAC to add as a source to their stereo. I returned the unit for one reason, the digital output does not support volume control, this is probably fine for most people who want to use their DAC and preamp volume controls. My DAC & preamp supports Volume Control Bypass, which allows the digital source (Think Roon, AirPlay, Spotify Connect) to control the volume. However with the CA MXN10 using the digital out this feature is disabled and I have to use the pre-amp remote volume control. However with RCA Line out you can control the volume so if that works for your setup that gives you even more flexibility. The DAC is good, and you'd need to spend ~$1500 or more on DAC to get something that is actually better. It supports a large variety of formats, and for fun I had Roon upscale all my music to DSD 256 and play it out the MXN10 and without any issues. I used it for 3 weeks during the holidays, so lots of use and I never had an issue with the unit. I only used the CA StreamMagic app for settings, we used Roon (90% of the time), Spotify Connect, and Airplay for our playlist / listening. I did test the USB input from my iPad and MacBook, and I tested the optical in, no noticeable issues or unexpected audible differences with any of the inputs/outputs. I did 99% of the streaming with it plugged into an ethernet so I cannot comment on the wifi capabilities of the unit. I preferred

Mara from DUNLAP, TN on 1/7/2024
I had to unplug the wifi extender to get connected. It would be helpful to have that mentioned in instructions. Once connected, the MXN10 performed beautifully. Very nice addition to my system at a reasonable price.
Pros: Tidal Connect is outstanding!

Wishing I'd bought this earlier. I've got an older AVR with no stream options. This does that and sounds awesome! I was streaming Pandora thru my DVD player and things were muffled and flat. Was easy to setup and I love it! Now I stream high quality Qobuz and its fantastic!

MXN10 vs Wiim Pro
Thomas from Lynnwood, WA on 11/10/2023
Comparisons were only used with Digital Outputs. I also tried coax and optical, however the Wiim is using an external power supply (KECES) to give it a fair fight. My DAC of choice is the Schiit Bifrost 2. Both are very similar in tone with a slight nod to Cambridge in the lower bass. I also thought the treble was slightly clearer with the Wiim. Software is excellent on both with the Wiim getting an additional nod if needing TV audio out using optical. Most important tweaks for the Cambridge, experiment by reversing AC polarity and using a better power cable....I found it noticeable and audible. As you can guess, I did not use the Cambridge DAC and can only imagine it would win hands down compared to the Wiim. Cheers!
Pros: Great software Very good sound quality
Cons: If using with external DAC, the Wiim is a better value Tweaks offer an improvement (see above)

Cambridge Audio MXN10
Bill from Edmond, OK on 11/6/2023
The unit works/sounds great. My only complaint is with the StreamMagic app: it will only load approximately 2500 songs at a time. I usually load 13000+ songs & play them randomly. So I'm using BubbleUPNP to play my entire library.

Great DAC at affordable price
Adam from Nashville, TN on 10/29/2023
After initially having a little trouble getting it to connect to my home wifi (I simply wasn't giving it enough time to locate and pair before trying to restart the process) it's been smooth sailing. Easy to play Apple Music from my phone via airplay, and the built in ability to stream internet radio works wonderfully. This narrower version of the MXN10 pairs well aesthetically with my Rega Brio-R and Rega turntable, too. Check out the what hifi comparison with the Bluesound Node (Cambridge wins)
Pros: Sounds great Now cheaper than other comparable DAC's such as Bluesound Node Supports hi-res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz Stream Magic app is easy to use
Cons: I don't use Tidal, but if you do there's no MQA support

Just Do It
Eric from Longmont, CO on 10/1/2023
Easy to set up. Sound quality is great. The app is easy to use and well made. A huge jump up from the Andover I was using for this in all aspects. Internet radio feature is something I didn't expect to care about but I use quite a bit for just putting on music without thinking about it too much. I have not had a single issue with connectivity since setting up.

I use for music and prefer sound quality over volume. I can hear improved sound when using Cambridge MXN10 DAC. Even better than Node X. Node X does have sub out (did not sound as good as AVR) and remote. I compared them side by side. It's great Crutchfield let's you use before you buy and have people to talk to. I had to learn how to use the advisors knowledge rather than them just putting stuff in my cart. I understand their side of the operation, but I don't see how they can profit from that business model.

I went down the network streamer rabbit hole. I tried the Ifi Zen streamer and also a WiiM Pro. The Ifi Zen is a complete waste of time. It is wonky with it's network connection, and I didn't like those annoying red/blue/white led lights on the front of it. It is a horrible unit in my opinion. Having to power cycle that unit, turn the screw in the back to setup mode, reconnect to the network became a pain in the rear end. The WiiM Pro on the other hand is not bad for the price. The app is pretty good and you get a lot of input/output connectivity options. The Cambridge Audio Mxn10 is better built than the WiiM, the Cambridge app gets a slight nod over the WiiM Pro app. Cambridge also released an update that allows you to control the volume from within the app itself. The Cambridge does sound better than the WiiM Pro, whether connected to my Parasound P6 using its built in dac or the internal dac of the Cambridge. I demo'd all 3 in home at the same time. It's not a night/day difference, but it is noticeable when A/B'n products back to back. I found the Cambridge unit on sale as an open box unit and was able to save 150 bucks on the retail price. If you can score the Cambridge for less then retail, its the obvious best choice. If not, I'm not sure I'd pay 3 times the price of the Wiim Pro. It's a solid, good sounding unit!
Pros: The app is easy to use App was updated to allow volume control from within the app It's well built Sound is great, better than the Ifi or WiiM Pro in my tests 2 yr warranty - 3 yrs if you register the unit online
Cons: Price - see if you can find an open box or scratch and dent. Still beats any streamer for $500 or less hands down.

Wonderful audiophile piece of equipment
Jeff from Alexandria on 8/2/2023
Wow. I had an iFi Zen Stream that loved to "brick up" and, totally frustrated, I tried a "low cost" WiiM Pro as a substitute. Immediately after plugging in the WiiM I could tell it was not as good as the Zen Stream (returned that to Amazon). I then discovered that Cambridge Audio had recently introduced the MXN10 so I thought I would give it a try. It was easy to set up, connect to Roon and my NAS music files and WOW, they sound as good or better than the iFi stream. I compared its internal DAC to my Schiit Bifrost (which I like) and the MXN DAC is every bit as good as the Schiit (they are actually identical to me in A-B comparisons, and even have the same gain). My power amp is a Bryston. The StreamMagic iPhone/iPad app is also very user-friendly and well designed. You can't miss with this unit. High audiophile quality and performance for a great price.
Pros: Quality of sound. Ease of set-up. Roon capability as well as the iOS apps for iPhone and iPad.
Cons: nothing I can think of. Some people might want a graphic display -- but I don't need it as I use iPad and PC to control it.

Does everything I wanted for a great price. Streaming Tidal and internet radio at CD- or higher-resolution. Using the onboard DAC to conect to the analog input of a Denon receiver. The sound is awesome with a set of Bowers & Wilkins bookshelf speakers.

No Volume Control !
I would Warn anyone looking to purchase this streamer, you are not able to control the volume on your phone or via the app. Regardless if you're in a music streaming app or on AirPlay, other streaming services, it doesnt work. Not sure why they wouldnt have this capability, even Sonos has this embedded
