But Marcia Cross proved that makeup is all but a necessity for her naturally stunning face as she relaxed at her twin daughters' soccer match on Saturday looking picturesque and fresh faced.
The 51-year-old actress and her husband Tom Mahoney lovingly watched on as their girls Savannah and Eden - six years old - battled out the team sport at a Los Angeles sports field.

The star's famous long fiery tresses were flowed naturally about her shoulders and her alluring green eyes were unmistakable despite the fact that she didn't appear to be wearing a scrap of makeup.
She looked blissfully content as she reclined in her comfortable and rather luxurious looking blue deck chair, eagerly watching her beloved daughters.

Marcia's stockbroker husband Tom joined the family of four in casual jeans and a blue T-shirt, and the pair could not have looked more proud of their girls.
The Beverly Hills 90210 actress pulled her blonde little ones into loving hugs and cradled them in her lap, looking every bit the doting mother with a constant smile on her face.
Everyone made sure they stayed hydrated on the warm Los Angeles day, with a couple of sizeable water bottles and iced tea on hand.

The actress famous for her portrayal of Desperate Housewives favourite Bree Van de Kamp was previously married to longtime love Richard Jordan, but he sadly passed away in 1993.
Marcia married Tom in 2006, and their twin girls Savannah and Eden were born in February 2007.
At the time she was working long days on Desperate Housewives, but she is now a full time mother to the girls.

After eight seasons on the popular drama, Marcia has said that she doesn't plan on taking on any acting roles in the near future so she can concentrate on her daughters.
She said in a recent interview: 'During the show I got married, I had twins and I took care of my husband at one point when he was sick.
'I went from thinking I was giving up my acting career to working on a hugely successful show.'
