The Masked Singer US judge Nicole Scherzinger has had a hair make-over, with her usual dark do now featuring red and black highlights.

Scherzinger's new hair transformation was unveiled by the star's hair stylist Dimitris Giannetos online, who shared a photo of her new look on Instagram.

The Pussycat Dolls singer is seen with her new red and black locks styled in a half-up, half-down hairstyle with two buns.

"Y2-COLE," began Giannetos' caption, making a pun from Nicole's name and Y2K, an abbreviation for the year 2000 and the fashion and pop culture associated with it.

"Bring the two toned hair back again! Major Y2K hair for my girl @nicolescherzinger by [me]."

The hair stylist, whose other clients include Megan Fox and Kourtney Kardashian, finished the caption with credits to other members of Scherzinger's hair and make-up team.

It's possible that Scherzinger's new look is for her judging duties on The Masked Singer US, which began filming new episodes in June.

According to On Camera Audiences, live shows began filming in Los Angeles on July 17.

Season 10 of the hit reality show was confirmed in May 2023, following the success of season 9. The final saw two contestants go head to head: Macaw and Medusa.

Macaw impressed with his renditions of 'Hold Back the River' by James Bay and 'All by Myself' by Eric Carmen, but it wasn't enough to claim the Golden Mask trophy.

Macaw finished in second place and was revealed to be American Idol finalist David Archuleta.

It was best-selling singer Bishop Briggs who impressed Scherzinger and her fellow judges as Medusa, and was crowned the 2023 winner.

Audiences won't have to wait too much longer for the next instalment of the show. In July, a first-look teaser for season 10 dropped, confirming a return date for The Masked Singer US.

The Fox show will be back on screens on September 27, with a new line-up of masked contestants battling it out in front of judges.

The Masked Singer US returns on September 27 on Fox in the US.
