By Melissa Leo has been cast in CBS pilot LFE.
The medical procedural drama follows a number of brilliant doctors in their second year of residency at a highly-regarded New York City hospital.
Leo is playing the "den mother" to the young residents. An attending physician, Julie treats them almost as if they were her own children, reports Deadline.
Andy Mientus, Annie Funke, Ana Kayne and Daniel Sharman were previously cast.
LFE comes from Paul Downs Colaizzo. The pilot is directed by David Slade, who is also executive producing alongside Dan Jinks and David Marshall Grant.
Leo won an Oscar in 2011 for her role in The Fighter. She has also starred in Treme, and will be seen in Fox's Wayward Pines.
