Frogspawn "Euphyllia divisa", also known as the Octopus Coral, Honey Coral, or Fine Grape is a large polyped stony (LPS) coral, that is native to the Indo-Pacific islands, that offers a very unique shape and color. Frogspawn coral is a fairly hardy species that can tolerate a decent range of water parameters and conditions. The polyps remain visible throughout both the day and night, resembling a mass of fish eggs or frog eggs, hence one of its common name Frogspawn. The tentacles are sometimes almost clear, but are typically various shades of fluorescent green, purple, or blue.

Frogspawn is very similar in growth and care requirements to it Euphyllia cousins, the Hammer coral and the Torch coral. It will need to have moderate to heavy lighting, combined with moderate water movement within the saltwater aquarium. Most of the time, frogspawn coral and other euphyllia corals are considered buddies and often do well next to one another, but should be carefully watched for any aggressiveness that may occur between them. It will sting other neighboring corals in the reef aquarium, therefore, it is best to leave plenty of room between itself and other types of corals.

Additionally, frogspawn rely to a large extent on symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within its body provides the majority of its nutritional requirements from photosynthesis, however, in our experience, they will also benefit from additional food in the form of micro-plankton or brine shrimp.
