Barack Obama Signs His Name Next to a Guy Fieri Stencil

Yesterday President Barack Obama visited The Sink in Boulder, Colorado, a self-professed "Boulder Burger Institution," and he did what any good president would do: Obama signed his name right next to Guy Fieri's iconic stencil/signature. This is a thing that Guy Fieri does when he visits a restaurant for his Food Network show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives: he paints a stencil of his be-sunglassed face that reads "GUY ATE HERE" and signs it. Over the course of twelve seasons and over 140 episodes, Fieri has indeed left many stencils (see this Flickr set of 58 photographs of them). How long until Fieri gets invited to the White House? Update: Guy Fieri has in fact cooked at the White House — back in 2010 — but instead of cooking for the President, he was remanded to the Navy Mess and cooked for staffers.

Obama's visit was a surprise — the restaurant owner was only given 20 minutes' notice of Obama's arrival, and people promptly went nuts. Also while there, according to Colorado Daily, a woman spilled frozen yogurt on Barack Obama's pants. "Getting yogurt on the president, that's a good story," Obama said.

The episode of DDD in which Fieri visited The Sink originally aired September 26, 2011, and here's the video:
