"We're Going to Surf City!"
When I bought this game, I had no idea what it was like, but I love to find old, obscure and off-the-wall games. The closest I can come to succinctly describing this game is that it an interactive Archie Comics simulator. No trademarked characters are used, of course, but the vibe is the same. This is about as close as you can get to exploring Riverdale without an actual licensed product. The graphics are good and really reflect the feel of late 70's and early 80's comics and Saturday morning cartoons. This isn't a game for everyone, but should really appeal to people who were kids during that time period and reminisce about waiting all week long to get up and sit in front of the TV at 6AM every Saturday. You are only allowed to bowl one frame. You can bowl it over and over, but I would like to have seen a full bowling game included. The title was originally aimed at younger children, so the decision to not include full games is more understandable. There's also the fact that there is so much voice, music and animation on the disc, that there may not have been enough room left for more. That being said, this is more of an experience than a game. It's more about just taking time to explore and enjoy. Definitely recommended for the Generation X'ers who would like to relive a little of bygone childhood days.
