I bought these for a bike build I was doing on an older Trek 2100 carbon frame bike. I went with ALL Shimano ultegra components except the rear derailer it's a 105. After reading much about the 105 and ultegra difference it was just a weight issue I found. I decided the heavier 105 maybe would be more rugged as I ride about 200 miles per week. A lot to some and not much to others. But still to me it's a good distance. These brakes are outstanding in their stopping power. Easy to adjust and work flawlessly.
