Stone Age Avengers

Background:
Over 100,000 years before the present, the early human mutant known as Firehair became the avatar of the Phoenix Force and - overcome by its destructive impulses - nearly razed the planet. Realizing the danger that beings like her posed to the Earth, she began assembling a team of supernatural and mystically-augmented individuals to protect the nascent humanity from both outside threats and itself; recruiting the Asgardian god Odin Borson. Together, Firehair and Odin recruited the demigod sorcerer Agamotto, the Black Panther of the Panther Tribe, the demonically-empowered Ghost Rider, Iron Fist, and Starbrand.

When a Celestial called Zgreb the Aspirant came to Earth in search for the Progenitor, it was infected by the Horde and was driven mad. The Avengers were successfully able to subdue it. While Odin wanted to nail the fallen Celestial to the Moon as warning to the others that would come, the team buried the cosmic giant under the plains of what would become the modern-day country of South Africa instead. Soon afterwards, the First Celestial Host, drawn by the battle against their fallen brethren, they came to engage the Avengers in combat. The Avengers were defeated, but the Celestials spared them and left.

Over the years, the Avengers also fought against numerous time travelers seeking to reshape history to their benefit, such as young Thanos, some Doctor Dooms, and Mephisto. Because of the constant attacks from the future, they were initially hostile towards a time-displaced Tony Stark. Later, they watched as Tony battled Mephisto and used the devil's Time Stone to go back to his own time.

The Black Panther was killed during a battle against the children of Laufey of Jotunheim and Hyve of the Negative Zone. While Phoenix mourned for him, Odin reminded her that the others were just mortals and she should not get attached. He attempted to advance on her only to be rejected as Phoenix was in disbelief of his lack of respect. Phoenix went to the Panther Tribe to offer her condolences and was soon called to Asgard, as were the other members of the team. When they arrived, they saw that Odin had called them for an unannounced wedding be-tween him and Phoenix, and that they were to be wed immediately. Disgusted, Phoenix left Asgard and Earth, intending never to return.

The botched wedding attempt fractured the team and they went their separate ways. Many years later, they gathered once more to wit-ness the birth of Thor, the son of Odin and Gaea. Laufey, seeking revenge for his children's deaths, assassinated the newborn by turning him into ice. Phoenix, who had orchestrated Thor's birth alongside Gaea, came back and brought Thor back to life. Still resentful, Odin told her to leave. Phoenix considered staying to watch the boy grow up but the sound of storms and his cries were too much for her to bear and she once again left for the stars.

The team was eventually reassembled by Agamotto. Although Phoenix remained missing and the Panther Tribe refused Agamotto's call, the team welcomed a new-comer: Moon Knight. The prehistoric Avengers teamed up with the modern Avengers to combat Mephisto's Council of Red and the Multiversal Masters of Evil.

The battle against the Masters of Evil lasted nine days. Doom Supreme managed to kill Starbrand and Ghost Rider, and took out Agamotto's eyes, but the Avengers defeated the other members while Doom Supreme abandoned them.

Doom Supreme went on to attack his true target, the God Quarry, and Avenger Prime summoned the Avengers to help. Firehair returned and defeated Dark Phoenix with Thor, but they also shattered the God Quarry, completing Mephisto's plan. The Avengers dealt with the remaining evil forces before turning their combined attention to the breach. Their attempts at sealing the hole failed because nothing on the Multiverse's side of the hole could seal it; Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) went to the other side of the hole to seal it from the First Firmament. With the end of the Multi-verse averted, Phoenix (Firehair) and Starbrand (Brandy) sacrificed themselves to return all the universes attacked by the Masters of Evil to normal. Returning to their normal time, Agamotto then created his three Eyes of Agamotto.

Millennia later, Odin's son Thor would follow in his father's footsteps and become the leader of a new team of Avengers. Centuries after that, the fifth iteration of the Avengers was founded to save the world from Loki - the Asgardian god of mischief - and became one of the world's largest superhero teams.

HISTORY
While he was not the first Wakandan of the Panther Tribe to eat the Heart-Shaped Herb, in circa 100,000 B.C., Mosi became the first to be favored by the panther spirit Bast and survive the process, aided by her animal avatars and becoming the first Black Panther.

When cosmic energies brought to Earth from the Vega system by the Mena Ngai meteor started to open rifts through space, bringing creatures such as the Brood to Wakanda, Mosi defended the Wakandan people. Eventually these rifts attracted other beings wielding primal energies of the universe, such as the Asgardian deity Odin Borson, who admitted he had not been impressed by such a mortal before or since. Mosi was the first person after Odin to lift and wield Mjolnir, having done so when he met the team. Mosi became a member of the Stone Age Avengers, helping them seal an out-of-control Celestial called the Fallen in an underground chamber in what would become South Africa. The prehistoric Avengers saved the world countless times from threats like Mephisto and Shuma-Gorath, and the Black Panther brought back knowledge from his adventures to his people.

Black Panther was killed in battle against the children of Laufey and Hyve. His death became a catalyst for the team's disbandment, and also caused the Wakandan people to begin to retreat from the outside world, requesting that the rest of the Stone Age Avengers forget they exist. The Wakandans subsequently broke apart into disparate tribes, and were not reunited until the coming of the second Black Panther, Olumọ Bashenga.

HISTORY
The young man who came to be the first Ghost Rider lived on Earth about a 100,000 years ago as part of a group of cavemen. At an early age, he realized he was smarter than the rest of his pack, a fact he kept to himself out of fear of being isolated. One day, a mysterious man approached the pack and quickly became the leader by violent means. Eventually, the stranger revealed himself to be a Wendigo and devoured the entire pack save for the young boy. Be-fore leaving, the man gave the boy the name "Ghost" and challenged the boy to find him. With everyone he had ever known gone, the boy chose to venture out beyond his cave, convinced that if the stranger could survive then so could he. Eventually, Ghost grew exhausted due to the harsh environment. It was then he was approached by a snake which convinced him to say its real name as a way to achieve his goal. Ghost was then bonded to a Spirit of Vengeance, befriending a mammoth right after his trans-formation.

Five years later, Ghost finally tracked down the Wendigo to exact his revenge and engaged him in an intense fight. The fight ended with the Wendigo pushing Ghost's mammoth off a cliff with him, though the Wendigo claimed that he would survive the fall, but wondered if the Rider could survive the loneliness now that his mammoth friend was gone. The Rider was then approached by Odin and Lady Phoenix, who asked him to join the prehistoric Avengers.

Together they fought an out-of-control Celestial known as the Fallen. After his new mammoth was killed, Ghost Rider swore vengeance on the Fallen and vowed to drink its blood. The Avengers eventually defeated the Fallen and sealed it in an underground chamber in what would become the modern-day country of South Africa. He later joined his allies in battling the First Host.

The Avengers disassembled following Black Panther's death and Phoenix's departure. The team was reassembled years later by Agamotto and encountered the time-travelling the modern day Avengers. While initially hostile, the two groups joined forces to face the threat of Mephisto's Council of Red and the Multiversal Masters of Evil. In a fearsome battle against the Masters of Evil, Ghost Rider killed the Berserker Wolverine and the Ghost Goblin, but sacrificed himself to protect the nearby cavemen from Doom Supreme's spell.

HISTORY
Fan Fei was a native to the city of K'un-Lun, born to the Green Lotus House, and trained from childhood in the sacred art of kung-fu. When she was 15 years old, Fan began sneaking out beyond the sacred city's gates, where she encountered early cavemen. Fascinated by these people and seeing their struggles against the beasts preying on them, Fan taught several of them the basics of K'un-Lun Kung-Fu to allow them to defend them-selves. After three months of training, Fan was discovered and declared a traitor for sharing the city's secrets with outsiders; a status that left her condemned as the worst criminal in the history of K'un-Lun, causing her to be disavowed by clan and family alike. Fei was brought before The Thunderer at the cave of Shou-Lao, the holy dragon, where she was forced to watch as her students were executed by the creature.

In a rage, Fei broke the shackles binding her, and charged the Shou-Lao, with every intention of dying alongside her pupils after punching the dragon in the face, but instead, when she struck the dragon, Fan punched all the way through, blasting through the dragon's mouth and out the back of its head, killing the dragon and coating her hands in its burning blood, leaving her with a dragon shaped mark on the back of her hand and the ability to harness her chi in glowing, burning hands as hard as metal; the first in what would become a long line of Iron Fist. Declaring the dragon scar her mark of shame, The Thunderer decreed that Fan Fei was to be exiled, never to return to the sacred city.

Fan wandered the earth for a decade- and while she refused to train any more of the early humans she encountered in her exile, she found herself unable to leave them defenseless. She battled monsters, Deviants, and eventually found herself in conflict with the Gorgilla Clan of Man-Apes- battles which saw early man start to worship her as a god, and began to attract the attentions of other, more powerful beings. One such being, Mephisto, approached her one night in an attempt to persuade her to use her powers to conquer the people of Earth, which Fan violently rejected. Spurned by her refusal, Mephisto granted his gifts on the Gorgilla in her place, giving them mastery of his Hellfire and sending them to destroy the clan of humans the Iron Fist had protected the previous day. The Gorgilla attacked, led by the Ape King wielding a club of diamond, but Fan was able to use her skills to shatter the weapon and rescue the cavemen from the flames.

Undeterred, Mephisto lead the Ape King to the resting place of The Power Stone, and sent the newly empowered Ape King to destroy the Iron Fist. Despite the gem's immense power, Fan attacked head on, attempting to shatter the Stone, but her attempts backfired, creating a shockwave of pure en-ergy that sent her flying. For all her advanced skills, Fan found herself unable to overcome the raw power of the Infinity Stone, and was left thoroughly beaten. Recovering and bandaging her wounds, Fan Fei found herself wandering, naturally finding her way to the gates of K'un-Lun, having temporarily reappeared on Earth, where she was greeted by the Thunderer. Fan's former jailer explained that the people of the city had watched her exploits, and the Dragon-Kings had declared that their ruling on her trial was wrong; that her powers were a gift and a natural element of the Dragon's life and the culture of K'un-Lun. The Thunderer of-fered to end her exile and bring Fan home, but the Iron Fist rejected his offer, explaining that the Earth was her home now, and her fight for its people had only just begun.

At some point Fan Fei joined a team of other super-powered mortals and deities dedicated to protecting Earth. She and the other Stone Age Avengers fought an out-of-control Celestial called the Fallen, eventually defeating it and later sealing it in an underground chamber in what would become the modern-day country of South Africa. What became of the Iron Fist after that is unknown.

CONTACTS: Tribe Without Fear, Avengers

HISTORY
As an infant, Firehair was abandoned by her parents at the "Burnt Place" - a permanently razed clearing where the xenophobic surrounding tribes sacrificed anyone who deviated in any way from their norms - due to her red hair. Rescued by a pack of wolves, she grew up as a member of the pack - occasionally returning to the Burnt Place to chase the giant buzzards that dwelled there. When she was ten, Firehair discovered a child with one eye had been left at the Burnt Place, and was confronted by a floating man who spoke to her with his mind. Initially fleeing in fear, she later followed the man out of curiosity and befriended him, learning that he could only communicate via telepathy and move using psychokinesis. Reluctantly leaving her pack, Firehair joined the Tribe Without Fear - a collection of mutants that the man - who Firehair called the Highwalker - had rescued from the Burnt Place and taken upon himself to raise and train.

Sometime later, Firehair's own mutant abilities awakened just in time for her to warn the Highwalker of an impending attack by the neighboring xenophobic tribes. As Highwalker attempted to talk down the tribesmen to buy his charges time to escape, Firehair's newly awakened psychic abilities were overwhelmed by the humans' fear and rage, resulting in the Highwalker's death when he dropped his guard to soothe her. Firehair fainted as her fellow pupils gave into rage and attacked the attacking tribesmen, resulting in the deaths of everyone present save herself. Firehair blamed herself for her mentor and friends' deaths and was overcome with despair, contemplating turning her powers on herself to commit suicide and returning to the Burnt Place to be eaten by the buzzards. As she lay awaiting death, the Phoenix Force - who had created the Burnt Place when it first arrived on Earth - manifested and saved her from the buzzards. Drawn to Firehair's untapped raw psychic power, the Phoenix bonded to her and sought to use her to fulfill its intended purpose - razing planets to ashes. Consumed by vengeful rage, Fire-hair nearly gave into the firebird's bloodlust and became a Dark Phoenix, but was pacified by the wolf who had saved her as an infant and decided to use her powers to protect those weaker than herself rather than destruction.

Years later, Firehair recruited the Asgardian deity Odin Borson - intent on forming an alliance with other supernatural and mystically-augmented beings. Together, she and Odin recruited the demigod sorcerer Agamotto, the Black Panther - chief of the Panther Tribe, the demonically-empowered Ghost Rider, Fan Fei - first wielder of the Iron Fist, and Vnn - bearer of the cosmic Starbrand. One of the most-powerful enemies the Avengers battled was the Fallen, an out-of-control Celestial who unbeknownst to them was corrupted by the Horde. During the Avengers' battle against the corrupted cosmic god, Firehair struck the Fallen with flames hot enough to melt a supernova, but it withstood her attack without as much as a scratch. The Avengers eventually defeated the Fallen and sealed in an underground chamber in what would become the modern-day country of South Africa. Afterwards, Firehair and her allies battled the First Host sent to judge Earth, and went on to face many other threats to the Earth; the devil Mephisto and his minions, time-travelling would-be despots, and a young Thanos among them.

While she was romantically involved with Odin, Firehair rejected him after his callous reaction to the Black Panther's death. When Odin later tried to force her to marry him, Firehair left Earth never to return. Surviving their allies by thousands of years, Firehair served as Gaea's midwife during Thor Odinson's birth. When the newborn Thor was assassinated by Laufey, Firehair resurrected him and imbued him with some of the Phoenix's power - Gaea declaring her Thor's second mother. Sometime after, she sensed the battle between the Multiversal Masters of Evil and the Avengers of the future, among them being Thor. She then traveled to Earth, before following the two teams to the God Quarry, where she battled the Dark Phoenix. Following the battle with Mephisto at the Quarry of Creation, Firehair and Starbrand sacrificed them-selves to restore the universes decimated by the Council of Red's machinations, Firehair's essence being preserved inside the White Hot Room with the other Phoenix avatars.

EQUIPMENT:
Mjolnir: The hammer, Mjolnir, is made of Uru, a mystical metal of CL 1000 Material. The hammer does Unearthly Blunt damage, and can be thrown up to 10 areas. No one can forcibly take the hammer away from The wielder, unless he wishes it. The wielder can do the following Power Stunts while using Mjolnir:
  • Alter Ego: Striking Mjolnir on the ground, or a hard surface, transforms one into a mortal form. If they are kept away from the hammer for over one minute, they automatically re-vert back to their mortal form. While they are in their mortal form, Mjolnir looks like a simple wooden cane. Striking the wooden cane against a hard surface reverts them back to their immortal form.
  • Automatic Return: When thrown, whether it hits or not, Mjolnir flies back to the spot from where it was thrown.
  • Dimension Travel: Unearthly (100) rank power to travel between Earth and Asgard. Mjolnir can also open an aperture to a special pocket dimension where Thor keeps his battle armor and his Belt of Might. They can also place the hammer in the pocket dimension, and have it return to them at the beginning of the next round, as long as they haven’t moved more than 2 areas away from where they originally opened the dimensional aperture.
  • Dimensional Rift: By focusing all of Mjolnir's energy, the wielder can create a rift in the fabric of the universe, breaking the barriers between dimensions. Anyone or anything caught nearby will be forced into the rift by a Shift Z (500) energy backlash. The wielder can determine into which dimension the victims arrive in. This power costs the wielder all his remaining Karma points.
  • Flight: Amazing (50) air speed. This is done by spinning the hammer around and then throwing it. As it takes off, they grab hold of the hammer's leather thong and rides behind the hammer.
  • Deflection: Remarkable (30) protection against physical, energy, and magical attacks. The wielder does this by spin-ning the hammer in front of themselves.
  • Weather Control: Unearthly (100) control, including producing Monstrous (75) intensity lightning bolts. The wielder can shoot lightning bolts from Mjolnir without having to summon a storm.
  • Air Control: Create winds of up to Monstrous (75) intensity. This air control can be used to provide Monstrous (75) protection from projectiles to every-one within 1 area. The air control ability can also be used to carry others with him in flight with Incredible (40) speed.
  • Worthiness: Only a pure and noble person is able to pick up Mjolnir and use it. This person must have at least Excellent Strength. A machine of Remarkable Strength can pick up Mjolnir, but it cannot use it. So far, only Odin, Thor, Captain America, Dargo, and Beta Ray Bill have been able to pick up the hammer.
  • Unfettered Might: This special attack does Shift Y (200) damage and surrounds Mjolnir with a blazing blue aura. If Thor is wearing his Belt of Strength, damage is increased to Shift Z (500). unless he is wearing his special gauntlets, Thor suffers Incredible (40) damage when he uses this attack. This attack causes the wielder to lose one-half of his Karma points.
  • Power Absorption/Reflection: Mjolnir can absorb energy and visual psychic attacks up to CL 1000 intensity. The wielder must then release the energy from Mjolnir the next round. They can release it in any direction he wants. He may also reflect the energy back to its source with Excellent (20) Agility.
  • Light Emission: When calling forth lightning, or on command, Mjolnir can release a blinding burst of light of Incredible (40) intensity.
  • Magic Detection: This detection power senses the use of Asgardian magic with Good (10) Intensity.
  • Life Force Drain: The wielder can draw out the life force of an Asgardian god, utterly destroying that immortal. This power drains The wielder of all his remaining Karm a points, and they lose all their Health points except for 10.
TALENTS: Arcane Lore; Tactics & Strategy; Weapons Master

Initially struggling to control Mjolnir, Odin befriended a number of mystically-empowered prehistoric hu-mans, forming the Stone Age Avengers to defend Earth from threats like the out-of-control Celestial known as the Fallen. Odin wanted to nail the Fallen's corpse to the Moon as a warning to other Celestials, but instead he and the Avengers sealed the Fallen in an underground chamber in the modern-day country of South Africa. He entered into a romantic relationship with his comrade Lady Phoenix, who survived for longer than any of their comrades.

CONTACTS: Stone Age Avengers

HISTORY
Vnn lived on Earth circa 100,000 BC. Knowing he was born different, he left his tribe in fear of what would happen if the others found out he was gay, seeking a Garden he had seen in a dream, where — on the brink of death — he was saved by Brrkk, who lived there alone, and the two became lovers. They lived together in peace until the Deviants attacked, seeking to kill them and claim the Garden's power source for themselves.

While Vnn and Brrkk were able to defend the Garden for a short while, the Deviants triggered a cave-in and the two fell into a chasm deep below the Garden. Brrkk was killed, but Vnn survived and found the corpse of a dinosaur that possessed the Starbrand. Vnn absorbed the power of the Starbrand and used it to defeat his assailants, razing the Garden to the ground in the process, though he felt unworthy of the power and believed Brrkk had been meant to claim it. A few months later, he joined the Stone Age Avengers.

He and the other Stone Age Avengers fought an out-of-control Celestial called the Fallen. Starbrand got into a brief argument with Odin over who knocked down the Fallen, but they quickly quit their quarreling to focus on fighting the Celestial. The Avengers eventually defeated the Fallen and sealed it in an underground chamber in what would become the modern-day country of South Africa. After the Avengers disbanded, he and the other former Avengers were present during Thor's birth, where they fought against Laufey and the Frost Giants attempting to kill him. They then went their separate ways. He later lived by himself on the Moon, where Agamotto asked him to rejoin the Avengers to fight the Masters of Evil. He and the other reassembled Avengers then met the Avengers of the future. When the two teams fought against each other, he fought against Thor and Captain Marvel. After most of the two teams were knocked down, Doom Supreme attacked Agamotto, but was stopped by Starbrand. However, despite holding his own, he was ultimately overpowered and killed by Doom Supreme.

HISTORY
Amadeus Cho was a Korean-American born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Above average was insufficient to define this extraordinary teen. His parents Helen and Phil emigrated from South Korea before he was born. They had quite a passion for historical names, something they showed the moment they had to name their two children. Their son was named after the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and a daughter, Madame Curie Cho, called Maddy for short. The Cho's lived a normal and happy life, but Amadeus showed from his very childhood that he was different: he was incredibly smart for such a young boy, and learned a lot of things by himself, becoming highly cultured and increasing his already remarkable intelligence. Helen supported her genius son and tried to go along with his talent. The more Amadeus grew up, the more his parents realized he was a genius.

When the boy was fifteen years old, the Excello, a soap corporation, announced an online game to reward young geniuses, a quiz show named Brain Fight. Amadeus participated, and he easily won the $5,000 reward, placing first. Helen and Philip, of course, were happy for their son's results, but they didn't know this was just the beginning of the end for their family. The person who had organized Brain Fight, in fact, was another genius and former child prodigy, Pythagoras Dupree, whose real aim was to search the world for other people whose intellect might rival his own...and to eliminate them as unwanted rivals. By winning his game, Amadeus Cho had been awarded the title of Mastermind Excello and the position of "7th Smartest Man in the World" (Pythagoras, by his own claim, was the 6th), and that was more than enough a reason to be killed. Dupree had his men attack Amadeus' house, and in the following explosion, Helen, and her husband got killed. Amadeus ran away with his only companion being a coyote pup Kirby.

Agents tracked him down but not before Amadeus ran into to another misunderstood genius with awesome power: the Hulk. The Hulk protected Mastermind, who then considered him his friend.

Sometime later, a terrible accident involving super-heroes in Stamford, Connecticut killed 612 including the school children. The "Stamford Incident" gave rise to the Superhuman Registration Act. S.H.I.E.L.D. went to apprehend the unregistered Mastermind Excello. After outsmarting some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Amadeus discovered a hideout in New Mexico that once belonged to his friend the Hulk. There Amadeus hacked into the Baxter Building security network and discovered that a group of heroes called the Illuminati, including Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four and the Avenger Iron Man, had sent the Hulk into exile in outer space. Using a special phone line, he informed Reed Richards about his discovery. A satellite revealed that the Hulk wasn't where the Illuminati thought they had sent their former friend. Amadeus left Reed thinking about his betrayal of his former ally and friend while Amadeus set off to find the Hulk.

The Hulk soon returned to earth with his Warbound looking for revenge. Cho restored She-Hulk's powers after finding her depowered by Tony Stark's S.P.I.N. tech. Cho tried to recruit her to his cause. She-Hulk declined, choosing instead to get revenge on Stark using the legal system, but put him in contact with Hercules and Angel who owed the Hulk due to an altercation from when they were part of the Champions. Cho used Angel's money to buy a submarine. The trio went off to recruit Namor. Wanting no part of the Illuminati's plot to begin with, Namor dis-missed Cho's idea. Namora decid-ed to join the three in her cousin's place.

Cho's group offered their help to Hulk, but he dismissed them but was forced to accept help due to General Ross's attack. S.H.I.E.L.D. eventually recruited Cho's team to protect the non-evacuated civilians. Cho eventually met Rick Jones but didn't see eye-to-eye with him. Cho's group met up with Scorpion to find and free the heroes captured by the Warbound. Seeing the way the heroes were being treated caused Cho to confront the Hulk alone. Cho attempted to show Hulk that he wished to create a safe haven for him but he was attacked, causing Hercules and his crew to come to Cho's aid. The Hulk left after Cho argued that his anger was what killed his loved ones and that Banner was what kept them loving him. When Zom possessed Stark's Hulkbuster armor, Cho and his crew captured the demon with Wong's help. When Hulk was defeated, Cho and Hercules became prisoners of S.H.I.E.L.D.

During his imprisonment, S.H.I.E.L.D. decided that Cho's intelligence was going to be beneficial in moving the evacuated New Yorkers back to their homes. He declined, believing that if he did they would eventually make him a tool their militaristic plans. Hercules also didn't like S.H.I.E.L.D.'s plans for him rescued Cho and escaped. With Ares on their trail, his coyote dying, and Hercules hallucinating, Cho became fed up with all that S.H.I.E.L.D. had done. He used Hercules' crazed state to take over a S.H.I.E.L.D. vessel and upload a virus that would destroy all S.H.I.E.L.D. tech. When Hercules regained his sound state of mind he convinced Cho that he was in danger of being labeled as a villain for the rest of his life. Cho restored all the S.H.I.E.L.D. tech and continued on with Hercules.

Upon meeting up with Athena the trio set out to San Francisco to assemble a team of gods from Earth (Snowbird, Tecumotzin, Amatsu-Mikaboshi, and Atum the God Eater) to battle and defeat the Skrull Gods Kly'Bn and Sl'gur't. In route to Skrull space through the Dream Realm, they battled Nightmare and received his map of the dream realm.

Cho and Hercules battle Amazons, led by Princess Artume, who need him to decipher an Atlantean tablet that will lead to the Omphalos. Cho became attracted to the Amazon Delphyne Gorgon. The attraction was mutual. The two began a relationship, but upon becoming queen she ended the relationship.

Cho, Hercules and Athena confront Hera the newly appointed leader of the Olympians and travel to the Underworld to rescue Zeus. While Hercules battled hordes of vengeful enemies in Tartarus, Amadeus ended up in the Elysian Fields (the Greek version of Heaven), where he met his parents again. Before he could finish apologizing for having "caused" their death by winning Brain Fight, Helen and Philip interrupted him and hugged him, happy and proud of what their son had become. Before he could come back to Earth, however, Helen told Amadeus something he didn't know yet: Maddy didn't die in the explosion, and was still alive, taken by the Excello and kept some-where, needing his help. She would have watched over her children from the Elysian Fields, but she couldn't have done much else: it was up to Amadeus to make things right and to reunite what remained of their family.

In the aftermath of Secret Invasion, the activities of the Elder God Chthon created a series of freak events that Cho dubbed the "Chaos Cascade", and concluded the Avengers would be necessary to deal with the events. Hercules and Cho located Edwin Jarvis, and then Hank Pym and Jocasta. Loki in the guise of Wanda Maximoff, arrived in an astral form to greet them and supply the gathered forces with an "army" to form the new Mighty Avengers (later aided by Iron Man), which Hercules chose to remain with. Loki covertly used them to form and widen cracks in Osborn's armor, and which Norman Osborn sought to crush. Chthon was banished through their combined efforts with Pietro Maximoff, with Hercules explaining to the others that the death of the Demogorge with the Skrullian gods was the factor Chthon used to attack the universe.

In the town of Excello, Utah Cho met with FBI Agent Sexton, who had contacted him just after the death of his parents, and does battle with Pythagoras Dupree, who claimed to be the sixth-smartest man in the world. He realized his brain could serve as a "Hypercomputer", and figured out that Agent Sexton was really Athena in disguise.

Cho found himself in the crossfire when Red She-Hulk attacked the Mighty Avengers in an attempt to capture Hank Pym. While considered a possible target for the Intelligencia's hunt for the eight greatest minds of in the world, Bruce Banner confirmed Cho's drop to tenth. However, Banner would retract his statement, claiming Cho was always one of the eight. Cho helped Banner disable War Machine's armor, saving Pym's life, only to have the super-scientist stolen from under their noses. Later Cho joined Banner and a select team of superheroes in an assault on the Intelligencia's secret headquarters in an attempt to save Betty Ross.

After Hercules fell in battle, Cho had to fight to prevent the takeover of the Olympian pantheon by the most terrifying god on the planet. With Banner, Skaar, Thor, and Namor swept into the conflict.

Cho discovered that the Olympus Group's Continuum plan is to overwrite all of reality with an artificial one the gods have created in a pocket universe. Cho and Athena reunited with Hercules to prevent it from happening, and he called upon the Avengers to help him storm Olympus. During the battle, Cho found himself battling against Delphyne, working for the Olympus Group. She sought revenge on Athena for the gorgon curse. Hercules and Cho try to stop Continuum but when Cho found Hercules again he appeared to be dead. Athena claimed that Hercules died to stop Continuum from spilling out into reality. However, it was revealed that she betrayed Hercules in order for Amadeus to become the new "Prince of Power".

After what happened to Nightmare, Cho helped Hercules and Thor gather Venus, Sersi, Daimon Hellstrom, Silver Surfer, and Galactus together as the second incarnation of the God Squad. Cho calculates that Amatsu-Mikaboshi by now has consumed most of the Multiverse. Cho urges humanity to escape to a non-populated and sealed off continuum of which he discovered. While the God Squad, Alpha Flight, and the surviving Avengers fight Amatsu-Mikaboshi's forces, Cho and Galactus build a device that will transfer Earth to the continuum, but Amatsu-Mikaboshi is eventually defeated and sent to the continuum instead.

Amadeus Cho met Bruce Banner in the middle of Lake Michigan. They then teleport to Milwaukee, where a trio of Centaurs have gone amok. After a battle, they send the Centaurs back to Cho then hits them with a stun beam, from an orbiting satellite. Cho then turned to the Hulk and asked him what he needs help with. The Hulk asked if he could help with the Hulk family.

Cho teamed up with the Hulk and Red She-Hulk. Together they battled Tyrannus and his Tyrannoids. Which lead to a fight with the Knights of Rome. He then released Bi-Beast, Umar, Fin Fang Foom, Wendigo, and Arm'Cheddon to battle the heroes.

Cho ended up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with Spider-Girl, X-23, Thunderstrike, and Power Man. The heroes battled a group of Samurai Shark-Men. After the battle it was revealed that Cho had brought together the young heroes in the hopes that they would join his new super team. The young heroes were not happy that he had manipulated them, and they turned his offer down.

Amadeus made himself a suit, affording him abilities like enhanced durability and strength, limited flight and universal translation, with an A.I. named Calvin. He found himself stuck on a mysterious island in the Savage Land thanks to a damping field. Using his powers, Amadeus was able to convince the natives that he was a god. Their chief explained to him that there was a machine on the island that imprisoned a hostile alien creature and that they were sworn to protect it. This machine generated the damping field that kept Amadeus on the island.

After learning from the natives that Shanna and Wolverine were on the island, Amadeus set out to stop them before they could destroy the machine. Unfortunately, Shanna was killed in a fight with the natives and Wolverine set off in a rage to destroy the machine. Cho urged the natives to help Shanna, and they used the Man-Thing of the Savage Land to resurrect her.

Amadeus explained to her the situation with the machine and they set off to stop Wolverine from destroying it. Shanna arrived first and was able to save the machine. Cho arrived after her, as Shanna's physical capabilities had been enhanced by the resurrection. To the surprise of them all, the Hulk suddenly appeared.

When Hulk wondered where Amadeus Cho was and told him that he is in the Savage Land and told Hulk and Wolverine to stand down. Just as he did they are attacked by giant gorillas. During the fight with the giant gorillas, the dampening field is accidentally damaged during the fight which freed the alien Morrigon (who was the "Dark Walker") who fled from Earth. Morrigon returned to his master Visher-Rakk, an alien with the same planet-eating motive as Galactus. Morrigon told Visher-Rakk of a galaxy filled with planets for him to feed on.

Amadeus joined the Illuminati and went into hiding with them due to the Avengers being on the hunt for them. He broke into the Avengers Tower, now the S.H.I.E.L.D. Station: Golgotha to retrieve Tony Stark's files. However, he was found, and a disrupting field was projected so he couldn't teleport using a translocator. He was forced to break out of the tower, but he was soon chased by the Avengers, who managed to corner and let the In-visible Woman trap him. She then interrogated him about the current location of the Illuminati.

Sometime after the problem the Illuminati were tackling, the incursions, were no more, Amadeus assisted the Hulk when he got stuck with a dangerous amount of a new type of radiation that could've caused him to melt down and kill countless innocent people. Using special nanites, Amadeus absorbed the Hulk's powers, becoming a gamma-powered monster and the new Hulk. Amadeus attempted to distance himself from Banner, in the sense that he tried to maintain control over his Hulk persona, and prided himself of being a better and smarter Hulk. During his tenure as the Hulk, Amadeus joined forces with many heroes, and even became part of the Champions.

However, very early into his adventures, Amadeus showed difficulty in keeping his range under control when pushing his strength to incalculable levels to save the day. In addition to this, Amadeus' condition as the Hulk forced him to repress his emotions to control his powers. Amadeus' self-control was particularly put to the test following Banner's death at the hands of Hawkeye during the second superhuman civil war. After travelling to his own subconscious and failing to subdue his Hulk persona, Amadeus exiled himself to a satellite in deep space in hopes of studying himself and find a way to contain the Hulk.

Amadeus' self-quarantine was interrupted by a distress call from the planet Sakaar, which had once been freed by his predecessor. The many nomadic tribes of Sakaar were either absorbed or threatened by the forces of the Warlord of Fillia. Hulk was called by the Doka'abi Clan to represent them in a series of trials for survival. Amadeus became their champion and eventually defeated the Warlord himself. Despite his best efforts, Amadeus eventually gave in to the Hulk's rage, allowing his Hulk persona to take control of his body while Amadeus' normal self became a prisoner of his own mind. Once he returned to Earth, Hulk made quick show of his new ruthless behavior, declaring war on his enemies. The Hulk even turned against his allies when they tried to talk sense into him. Amadeus' Hulk personality was finally subdued when his allies injected him with an array of nanobots to break down those that allowed Amadeus' body to retain gamma energy, which gave Amadeus' psyche a chance to fight back against his other self. However, Amadeus realized he couldn't just destroy the darker side of his personality, and decided to embrace it. With his mind having become whole again, Amadeus retained a portion of his Hulk powers permanently.

Axis Amerika

Background:
Axis Amerika was a team of costumed Axis agents who engaged in subversive activities in the United States during World War II. Adolf Hitler, leader of Nazi Germany, conceived the idea of Axis Amerika, and it was intended that the team would include members from each of the three Axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan.

They first appeared in early 1942 around the time of All-Star Squadron member TNT's death, which was caused by Nazi saboteurs while he and his partner Dyna-Mite were pursuing them in Indian Creek, Colorado. They attacked the All-Star Squadron right at their headquarters, only for them to deal with new young heroes such as Fury, "Iron" Munro, and Flying Fox who would become part of the auxiliary team known as the Young All-Stars. They fled when they saw Green Lantern bring Neptune Perkins and Tsunami (who was originally offered to join Axis Amerika, but refused) with him to the headquarters. However, they turned their attention over to attacking the Young All-Stars during their war bond rally drive, nearly succeeding in capturing all of them when Fury transformed into Tisiphone the Blood Avenger, overwhelming them with such force that it caused the death of one of Axis Amerika's team members, Fledermaus.

Axis Amerika's postwar activities remain unknown.

  • Insect Communication and Control: Typical (6), She can communicate with insect life, mainly ants, wasps and bees, up to 1 area.
TALENTS: Bio-Chemistry; Languages - Russian (base), English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin; Martial Arts: A,B,E; Physicis

CONTACTS: Avengers, Janet Van Dyne, Champions, Black Widow, Winter Soldier, Ant-Man (Lang)

HISTORY
Nadia was the daughter of Hank Pym and his first wife, Maria Trovaya, who was kidnapped during their honeymoon and subsequently killed by foreign agents. Nadia was raised in the Red Room in Moscow, Russia, where she was trained to become a Red Room agent herself.

Her earliest memory is of a man with a star on his arm. When Nadia started to read, she showed great aptitude for science, so her handlers, believing her skills to be genetic, informed her of her famous heritage and began encouraging her to emphasize her studies more. Learning of her parentage only increased Nadia's drive to escape the Red Room, and she was eventually able to obtain a black market Pym Particle sample. Nadia had a young friend named Ying, who helped her in her study of Pym Particles and learned a way to use them; however, she disappeared suddenly and Nadia was told she was reassigned to another project. Nadia attempted to impress her superiors into bringing her back, but they never did. After studying the Pym Particles enough to master their size-changing properties, Nadia used them escape the Red Room.

After her escape, Nadia immediately made her way to the front door of Hank Pym's home in Cresskill, New Jersey, where she discovered that Hank had seemingly sacrificed his life to stop Ultron shortly beforehand. Crushed that her father passed before she could even meet him, Nadia decided to shrink down and break into his lab in order to learn as much about him as she could. Using old Ant-Man suit pieces and materials lying around, she crafted a new costume and decided to become the new Wasp, vowing to earn the admiration of her father's allies.

Nadia decided that she wanted to meet her stepmother, Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp, and the team that her family helped found, the Avengers, and thus went to introduce herself to the current iteration of the team. Arriving at the Avengers Hangar, Nadia was at first mistaken to be the one responsible for firing energy blasts at their headquarters. After Nadia introduced herself to the team, the Vision, still suffering from the after-effects of Mr. Gryphon's control, started to pop in and out of the timestream. The energy blasts that were attacking the Avengers earlier were time-displaced from the moment he tried to hit Nadia when she arrived at their headquarters.

As the Avengers tried to figure out a way to help their friend, the Vision's solar powers started to go superthermal, transforming him into a living bomb that would destroy the entire hangar and everyone inside it. Ignoring Tony Stark's order to retreat, Nadia flew inside the Vision to plant explosives, which she detonated, causing his temperatures to normalize and seemingly saving his life. Having earned their trust, Nadia was taken by Edwin Jarvis on a road trip in which he would introduce her to her extended family tree.

Jarvis and Nadia next went to Long Island and meet Janet in Southampton, though they had to rush due to the threat of a Microverse bomb. Together, Nadia and Janet defused the weapon, saving the President of the United States. Realizing how out of touch Nadia was with the real world, Janet took her out for a day out before admitting that, while she'd fight to the death to keep the name, she was fine with sharing it as long as Nadia used it for good.

Returning to Janet's home, the two Wasps had to deal with W.H.I.S.P.E.R. agents disguised as members of the Russian Consulate; however, news of Bruce Banner's death at the hands of Hawkeye was soon revealed, devastating Nadia. She decided to try to stop the impending Civil War by using her Microverse-based lab to construct a device so that Ulysses could focus his powers; however, the device went critical and Janet, having raced in to stop her, was forced to pull her out. Devastated further, Janet had to tell Nadia that not everything can be fixed by applying science and this was some-thing that had to be fixed through personal means, despite the fact that it felt like she was losing her friends. While Nadia slept, Janet admitted to Jarvis that her innocence and drive was a refreshing thing and that she was proud to have her as a Wasp.

In the aftermath of the second superhuman Civil War, Nadia joined the Avengers and Ms. Marvel ac-companied her to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Ser-vices in an effort to help sort her naturalization issues. After the meeting with Deborah Forrester, the pair assisted Mockingbird in taking down Monica Rappaccini, and although the Scientist Supreme escaped, Nadia gleefully spent time with Bobbi, whose work on Project: Gladiator and adventures in the Savage Land had in-spired her as a child. After mentioning that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s list of most intelligent humans listed women no higher than 27th, Nadia was prompted to start G.I.R.L., an enterprise to assess the Earth's greatest female scientific minds and convince S.H.I.E.L.D. that their list was outdated and in need of revision.

Nadia established her residence at Hank's former home, researching young women geniuses in the tri-state area to recruit into her G.I.R.L. initiative, with Jarvis helping her keep her schedule of affairs in order. Nadia traveled to Washing-ton Heights and recruited sisters Alexis and Taina, but could not recruit Moon Girl even after a superhero team-up, the aftermath of which led Nadia to find her Red Room friend, Ying; who vanished after explaining her orders from Mother to bring Nadia back into the Red Room. After Nadia got a new phone and first met Amber, she and Jarvis travelled for Brownsville and recruited Shay Smith, but found trouble convincing Priya Aggarwal to join; as Priya wanted to be "normal" as her brother's exceptionalism led to his loneliness.

When the shop Priya worked at was being robbed by Poundcakes, Nadia talked her down until Jarvis encountered Letha outside and fighting broke out. When Nadia lost her composure and utilized her assassin training to subdue both criminals, Priya agreed to join out of gratitude. The next day, after an awkward first encounter, Nadia's lawyer stated that there was no DNA of Hank left to verify her as his daughter, complicating her naturalization case, so he petitioned asylum for her until her lineage could be proven.

After Sam Alexander, Miles Mo-rales, and Kamala Khan left the Avengers to found the Champions, Nadia stayed with the team, who also recruited Hercules to bolster their ranks. They were then invited by Peter Parker to Parker Industries' main headquarters, the Baxter Building, where Peter offered them a new base of operations outside of the old hangar; however, Nadia finally realized that Peter was connected to Spider-Man and grew immediately distrustful of the businessman due to her distrust of Spider-Man.

After being rescued from having been erased from time by Hercules, Nadia took the infant Kang and used his adult self's time-travelling tech to escape into the timestream to return the baby to its proper place in history. During her chase, she was plucked out by the Priests of Pama from the 26th Century, who had evolved into paradox eaters after Kang's attack on the group searching for his younger self in the past. They attempted to convince Nadia to sacrifice the baby to them so that all of his future crimes would be undone; however, Nadia refused and instead plunged her-self back into the timestream to rescue the Avengers murdered by Kang and drawing the attacking time-travelers to the Priests. The Avengers were then able to successfully return the child to his time and was thanked by the Avengers for her work, though the Vision told her a shocking secret.

With the Avengers defunct after HYDRA's short-lived coup, classic A.I.M. returned under Monica Rappaccini to reclaim her role as Scientist Supreme. Nadia had to post-pone her driving practice with Jar-vis and went to intercept "Seeker", assaulting a bank in the Financial District. With Janet preoccupied gaining sponsorship for G.I.R.L., Nadia had drone assistance by Tai, Ying, Priya, and Shay to dispatch A.I.M. agents. Learning Seeker was Amber Silverstein, who Nadia failed to recruit, Amber admitted to joining A.I.M. due to a forewarning by A.I.M. about Hank Pym possibly returning, and stole was an item meant as a countermeasure.

She also battled Roger Bain of A.I.M. while working as head of her lab.

History:
Not long after the establishment of the mutant nation of Krakoa, Laura Kinney (Wolverine), Armando Muñoz (Darwin), and Everett Thomas (Synch) were sent on a reconnaissance mission into the Vault.

Due to the Vault's unique flow of time, the trio spent many centuries inside trying to find a way to escape, during which Laura became romantically involved with Synch. After Darwin was captured by Children of the Vault, the others broke through a force-field that stripped them of their powers and then Laura stayed behind to buy time for Synch to get out. Just before being killed by the Children, Synch managed to make telepathic con-tact with Charles Xavier and ensure everything he'd learned about the Vault was passed onto his resurrected form. Laura was presumed to have died and was there-fore resurrected with her pre-Vault backup, without the memories of her experiences with Synch. Due to Proteus' mistake, she was given a full adamantium skeleton, which she previously lacked. Unbeknownst to anyone, she was now a duplicate, as the original Laura had not been killed, but captured and kept alive by the Children inside the Vault.

During the first inaugural Hellfire Gala, both Laura and Synch were elected to join the newest X-Men lineup. As members of the new team, they moved to a techno-organic Treehouse in Central Park, and it didn't take long for the team to have to protect the world from exterior threats: one by the Mind Reaver in Manhattan and another by the Annihilation Wave in Kansas. This was the work of the inter-galactic crime lord Cordyceps Jones, who had been running bets on who could destroy the Earth first on his casino, Gameworld. With this team of X-Men, Laura also dealt with the High Evolutionary, the Reavers, animal hybrids created by Doctor Stasis, and a terrorist attack by M.O.D.O.K. During their time on the same team, Synch tried to approach Laura and even considered using Jean Grey's gift to show the experiences he'd had in the Vault to her, but eventually decided against it.

On her own, Laura infiltrated the Orchis-colonized moon of Phobos to rescue what turned out to be Lady Deathstrike. Also, joined by Gabby and Daken, she was able to track down Omega Wolverine, a version of their patriarch from an alternate future.

Eventually the X-Men ventured to Gameworld to put an end to Cordyceps Jones' schemes. During the mission, Laura was infected by his spores and was mind-controlled to fight her teammates, but the X-Men eventually prevailed and shut down Cordyceps' operations. Synch eventually gave up on trying to approach Wolverine, reasoning that she had a different life than the one he knew in the Vault and that it was not fair for him to burden her with his knowledge. During the following Hellfire Gala, the X-Men roster was changed and Laura stepped down, while Synch decided to stay on the team.

Shot with tranquilizer darts, Laura was abducted by the vampire Alex who was working for the Collector and taken into space. She was put into Collector's Museum where she was forced to fight in a fighting ring for two days until she met Boom-Boom, Jubilee, and Dazzler. The women fought their way out and returned to Krakoa, but this put them in conflict with the Vampire Nation.

While the newly called X-Terminators were still dealing with their vampire business, Laura was made aware that another version of her had been rescued from the Vault. The two women met up in Detroit and set up some rules for their now shared existence. The younger Laura forfeited her resurrection rights to the older Laura but insisted that she would keep the name "Wolverine". The older Laura agreed but warned that she wasn't looking for future socializing or even encounters between them. The older Laura then moved to the X-Men Treehouse in New York City, where she and Synch had a lot to catch up on.
Update because the world of X is very topsy turvy.

HISTORY
When a top-secret program at-tempted to recreate the original Weapon X experiment that involved the feral mutant Wolverine, they failed to secure a test subject who could survive the bonding process of the virtually unbreakable metal Adamantium to their skeleton. Seeking to take the pro-ject in a new direction, the project's director, Doctor Martin Sutter, recruited renowned mutant geneticist Doctor Sarah Kinney and tasked her with creating a clone.

Using the only available genetic sample from Weapon X, which was damaged, they were unable to salvage the Y chromosome after twenty-two attempts. Kinney proposed they create a female clone, and though her request was initially denied, she still went ahead and produced a viable female subject, prompting Sutter to reconsider. Despite resistance from his protégé Doctor Zander Rice, whom Sutter had raised after Rice's father had been killed by a bestial Wolverine at the original Weapon X Project, Sutter allowed Kinney to proceed. As revenge for her insubordination, Rice forced Kinney to act as the surrogate mother for the clone, and she gave birth to "X-23".

Seven years later, raised in captivity X-23 was trained to be a weapon. Kinney did her best to ensure the child retained some semblance of humanity, but her efforts appeared to be in vain. After seven years, Rice had X-23 subjected to radiation poisoning in order to accelerate the activation of her mutant gene, and forcibly extracted her claws and coated them with Adamantium. After Rice realized the child was growing soft, he blamed her sensei, one of the few people who treated her with kindness, and tested a chemical compound called "trigger scent" on him. The "trigger scent" causes Laura to kill mercilessly anything in her path, and thus she murdered her best friend. Rice already had a replacement in the wings, a woman named Kimura. Kimura was harsh and strictly punished X-23 for the death of her sensei.

Three years later, X-23 was sent on her first field mission to kill Presidential candidate Greg Johnson. She was assigned the mission as somewhat of an "advertising" ploy. Numerous other missions followed, as X-23's services were sold to the highest bidder. She was left emotionally stunted as a result. Her missions took her to locations all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, Las Vegas, Japan, Colombia, the Congo, and many others. For one mission she was assigned to pose as the Kingpin's niece and kill the ones who had captured her, bringing the head of their leader back. Rice, in an attempt to avenge his father's murder, abandoned X-23 on a particularly dangerous mission with A.I.M., but she survived against overwhelming odds and managed to return to the Facility. After her return to the facility Kimura punished her for not coming back with Rice.

Sarah Kinney let her out once, not as an attempt to escape but instead to use X-23 to help her find Kinney's niece, Megan, who had been kidnapped. X-23 found and rescued her with ease. Ultimately, Rice persuaded Sutter to hand control of the program over to him, then secretly ordered X-23 to kill Sutter and his family. X-23 was able to kill Sutter and his wife but was unable to kill their son. Instead, she let him live. Later, Rice revealed to Kinney a chamber with dozens of incubation pods containing female clones before he fired her. Before fleeing the Facility with X-23, Kinney gave her one last mission - destroy the pods and kill Rice. However, Rice was able to exact revenge on Kinney from beyond the grave, as he had earlier exposed her to the trigger scent, sending X-23 into a rage that caused her to kill her mother. As she lay dying, Kinney named X-23 "Laura".

X-23 traveled to San Francisco and tracked down Megan and Debbie (her mother's sister). Introducing herself as Sarah's daughter, she moved in with them. Although Me-gan experienced vivid nightmares of her abduction, her family be-lieved these to be utter fantasies. X-23 informed Megan that the man in her nightmares was indeed real and that she had killed him.

Debbie's boyfriend turned out to be an agent for the Facility who had been instructed to manipulate X-23 into killing Megan and Debbie using the trigger scent. However, the agent fumbled the assignment and was killed by X-23. Facility agents stormed the house, led by Kimura. X-23 managed to get Megan and Debbie to safety by handcuffing Kimura to a radiator and then triggering an explosion in the house, buying some time. After X-23 and Megan parted, X-23 decided to confront the man who made her creation possible -- Wolverine.

X-23 tracked Wolverine to Xavier's mansion and engaged him in a battle, defeating him via tactics and maneuverability. However, she did not kill him. Instead, she told him why she had come. Wolverine revealed that he was aware of X-23's ordeal, having received a detailed letter from her mother. The talk was interrupted when Captain America came to arrest Laura.

As a captive of S.H.I.E.L.D., Laura was interrogated by Captain America and Matt Murdock. Despite the mayhem in her past, Matt Murdock accepted X-23's innocence. Captain America wanted X-23 to atone for the murders she had commit-ted. However, he ultimately freed X-23 in order to avoid S.H.I.E.L.D.'s exploitation of her as their own weapon.

X-23 surfaced in New York two years later and was found living on the streets by a pimp named Zebra Daddy, who took her in and employed her as a prostitute. X-23 met Kiden Nixon, a young mutant with the ability to freeze time when in danger. Together with Kiden's teacher, they rescued another young mutant, the feral Catiana, from an angry mob. Zebra Daddy tracked X-23 down, but with the aid of her new-found friends and the mutant named Felon, Zebra Daddy's thugs were defeated. X-23 killed him to save the lives of her friends.

X-23 later took a job at the mutant-themed Wannabee's nightclub in the Mutant Town district of New York. It was there that she saved the life of the daughter of mob boss Don Parisi from a gang of thugs, whom she killed. The deaths inadvertently implicated Wolverine, prompting his teammates in the X-Men to investigate. X-23 instinctively attacked Wolverine on sight, but he was eventually able to calm her down. She led the X-Men to Parisi's daughter. After aiding the X-Men against Parisi's super-strong mutant enforcer Geech, X-23 fled the scene. She later returned to help the X-Men save victims of a car accident, after which she was enrolled at the X-Men's Xavier Institute.

X-23 quickly became very protective of Wolverine, attacking his teammate Bishop after he felled Wolverine during a training session. She also took to observing Wolverine on the mansion's security monitors. During one such viewing, an anomalous energy spike prompted X-23 to investigate. Encountering Spider-Man at the source of the signal, X-23 initially mistook him for an enemy and attacked. The pair ultimately teamed up to save the young mutant Paul Patterson from an alternate reality version of the armored Avenger Iron Man (Tony Stark). The arrival of the heroic Captain America and the super-spy Black Widow helped turn the tide.

X-23 secretly followed Wolverine on his investigation of strange activity in the Canadian Rockies. Am-bushed by the Hauk'ka, evolved Saurians from the Savage Land, X-23 managed to escape and alert the X-Men. Traveling to the Savage Land, X-23 and the X-Men teamed with the Land's lord Ka-Zar and his circumstantial allies, the Savage Land Mutates, to prevent the Hauk'ka from destroying human civilization by controlling the weather-manipulating X-Man Storm.

Sometime later, X-23 was approached by the cosmic Uni-Power in hopes of making specific use of her healing ability. Although she initially resisted its attempts to bond with her, and she remained reluctant even though it pleaded with her. She ultimately agreed to aid it and became Captain Uni-verse for a brief period of time.

After M-Day, X-23 was one of the few students who hadn't lost their powers. The depowered students and staff were sent home; however, their bus was bombed by anti-mutant religious zealot Reverend William Stryker and his Purifiers. Subsequently, Emma Frost had the surviving students engage in a free-for-all brawl, with those deemed to be the best performers assigned to a new team of trainee X-Men. Despite Frost's attempts to omit her, X-23 was among the seven students who made the grade.

Shortly afterwards, following Stryker's attack on the depowered students, X-23 heard Dust talking to Icarus, who had fled the Mansion. Dust intended to meet Jay, but Laura told her it was a trap. She eventually had to knock out her roommate to keep her safe. Donning Dust's burka X-23 came to Stryker's compound and was shot. After a few minutes spent healing and playing possum, Laura re-turned to the Mansion to see it being attacked by Purifiers. Laura fought valiantly and helped fend off the intruders.

The kids grew to be more receptive of Laura following her part in stop-ping Stryker's attack, in which she singlehandedly killed three Purifiers who had incapacitated Surge, Hellion, and Emma Frost. Subsequently, she started to bond with her friends, using her enhanced hearing to find out what happened to Icarus for them, learning that Stryker killed him. Julian Keller had, at one point, referred to her as his best friend, and Cessily Kincaid became close with her as well.

After Surge received a distress call from Forge, X-23 followed the team to Dallas to rescue him from the sentinel Nimrod. At the height of the desperate battle she man-aged to cut through to the interior of the machine with her claws, al-lowing the sentinel to be defeated. She was mortally wounded during the battle by Nimrod's energy blasts and was unable to heal her-self. In order to save her, Julian supercharged his telekinetic powers (thanks to Emma Frost's telepathic unlocking) in order to rush her back to the Mansion where she was healed by Elixir.

As Hellion recovered his strength, and found that his power levels had been massively enhanced, Laura kept watch over him. Emma confronted Laura, asking her to leave the school because of the trigger scent. Their confrontation was cut short by Cessily coming to Laura's defense. Cessily pursued Laura, the two went out for coffee. However, the café was attacked by Kimura and her minions, who had come not to capture Laura, but Cessily. Laura went back to the Xavier Institute where Hellion in-formed he was going with her to attack against the Facility. The two found a facility hideout where Laura interrogated a man at gun point. Julian was shocked when X-23 shot him in the head upon securing the information she needed. After an encounter with Kimura, the two found Cessily in liquid form, barely able to compose herself. They were attacked by Predators and saved by the combined forces of the X-Men and the New X-Men.

X-23 was among the group of students dragged into Limbo by Belasco who was searching for Illyana Rasputin. Using her en-hanced vision, X-23 was able to discern the Xavier Institute through a portal high above. She continually encouraged her fellow students to retaliate alongside her, but Belasco was unaffected by X-23's adamantium claws and easily defeated her. Belasco said that X-23's soul wasn't even worth taking be-cause "it reeks of man's science" and that she wasn't real. Belasco killed X-23, to the horror of her friends Mercury and Dust, only to resurrect and kill her over and over in a painful cycle. X-23 distracted Belasco from a weakened Dark-child, so Three-In-One could at-tempt to attack him mentally. Finally, Darkchild transported all the X-Men back to the Institute, which had been repaired as if nothing happened.

X-23, along with Mercury, Blind-fold, and Armor, was put into an enchanted sleep by Pixie's dust. The five girls were in a stereotypical high school setting that is until demons took over. When the spell was lifted, X-23 located and slashed open a pipe as a means of escape from the basement of P.S. 666.

X-23 aided the X-Men in their fight against the Hulk. She managed to knock over the Hulk and tore his eyes out. Eventually his eyes grew back, and he defeated X-23 by throwing her into a wall.

When Cyclops ordered Wolverine to assemble the new X-Force, X-23 was tossed into the mix. As they caught up to Cable, the Reavers attacked, and X-23 attacked Lady Deathstrike, seemingly killing her. At Muir Island, X-Force attacked the Marauders and Predator X. When Predator X swallowed Logan, X-23 became angry and attacked, and Wolverine finally killed it.

During X-Force's raid on a Purifer base, Purifer leader Matthew Risman brought out a captive Wolfsbane at gunpoint. While Wolverine called for the team to stand down, Laura activated a concealed detonator that set off a series of powerful explosives she had planted earlier without telling her teammates. The explosion brought most of the base down around them but Risman was able to escape with Rahne during the chaos. When X-Force regrouped later, Wolverine admonished Laura for being so reckless with the lives of her teammates and for letting Rahne get kidnapped. During their battle against the Purifiers, X-23 was able to complete her mission from Cyclops by killing Risman.

When X-Force was given a mission to capture the Vanisher and get back the Legacy Virus he managed to get his hands on, X-23 went with Archangel and Wolverine to complete the mission, but it ended in failure. Laura was infected with the Virus, and ran to kill herself in order to destroy the virus. While most of the members of X-Force fought the remaining enemies, Josh Foley ran after Laura to stop her. Josh explained that she was his friend, and how he wasn't willing to watch another friend die. Laura, believing it to be her mission, said that if he didn't let her go and jump into a nearby lava pit to destroy the virus, she would cut off his arm. He did not let go, and managed to get the Virus out of her before passing out and dropping her anyway. However, she didn't die, though she became severely burned after catching fire on the fall. She eventually healed from the burns and carried Josh back to Logan and Neena.

X-23 later moved with the X-Men to San Francisco, where they were accepted as heroes by the mayor, having rejected the Fifty State Initiative. X-23 was roomed with Armor and Pixie. Laura left behind a towel covered with blood, which the latter brought to Emma Frost, a sign of the secret X-Force Missions X-23 and Cyclops were keeping from Emma and the other X-Men.

X-23 was finally reunited with Kiden Nixon. Sadly, this future version of Kiden was hooked up to several machines and was used as a generator in order to create a temporal anomaly that disrupted time travel technology, essentially trapping X-Force (which was lethal for them if they didn't return within 33.5 hours), Cable and Hope in that era. While X-23 agonized over killing Kiden or not (Kiden herself asked for death) the matter was taken out her hands when Domino shot and killed her. X-23, Domino and Proudstar were dispatched back in order to save Boom-Boom, however both Domino and Proud-star fell ill due to the time travel. Feeling grateful for saving her friend and ending her suffering, X-23 disabled the time travel devices on the other two and went back in time in order to save Boom-Boom herself. She arrived just in time to stop the Leper Queen before she could kill Boom Boom out of spite for X-Force not killing her. X-23 then collapsed in exhaustion. H.A.M.M.E.R. then stormed the building, giving medical care, while they took X-23 in for questioning.

She was taken back to the Facility. There Laura was given back to Kimura, who sawed off her left arm. Agent Morales arrived and helped Laura to escape. The rest of X-Force arrived and took Laura and her severed claws home. Laura was able to regrow her arm, and, at her request, Dr. Nemesis replaced the regrown bone claws with her original adamantium claws.

After the return of the so-called "Mutant Messiah", Laura began having nightmares of a demonic Wolverine. Cyclops suggests she try volunteering at a nearby half-way house for depowered mutants. Laura blacked out, and found the building burning down around her. She was taken to a hospital, and believed she was responsible for the fire and the deaths of almost all the occupants. Wolverine (currently possessed by a demon) entered and attempted to convince Laura that she has no soul. She stabbed him just as Julian walked in. Following this, Laura decided to leave Utopia to go out and find herself so that she could be more than just a killer. Gambit tracked her down after taking an interest in her, believing that he could help her find herself.

They first encountered Miss Sinister who convinced them to come with her to one of Mr. Sinister's hideouts where she had been taking care of several children that Mr. Sinister experimented on. Miss Sinister betrayed them, however, and revealed that Mr. Sinister has been taking over her body. In order to evade death, Miss Sinister at-tempted to move her conscious-ness into X-23's body. The process failed, however, and Gambit triggered the self-destruct sequence and escaped together with X-23. Their next journey took them to Madripoor where they encountered Malcom Colcord who was trying to restart the Weapon X program, as well as Daken, Wolverine's son. Gambit, X-23, and Daken made an uneasy alliance despite Gambits better judgement, and they managed to drive Colcord out.

They found out that Colcord has been developing the trigger scent that drove X-23 into a killing rage and has found a way to make it affect ordinary people. They followed the scent's trace to Paris where they encountered Wolverine and newly turned vampire Jubilee. They all teamed up to locate the scent but failed to find the person running things. X-23 also struck a new friendship with Jubilee. They next traveled to New York where they encountered the Future Foundation. A demon king has escaped from his prison, and due to her previous status as host of the Enigma Force, X-23 was instrumental in re-imprisoning him in a different dimension, saving Valeria Richards in the process and earning the trust of the Future Foundation.

X-23 was later asked to babysit Valeria and her brother by Sue Storm but was pulled into the Col-lector's space ship together with the kids and Hellion, who had stopped by in order to win Laura back. They managed to defeat the Collector and make their way back but upon returning, Laura broke all ties with Hellion.

Laura and Jubilee turned a girl's night out into stopping a sex trafficking network until they were interrupted by Black Widow and S.H.I.E.L.D. In this moment, X-23 accepted Romanov's offered invitation to join Avengers Academy, feeling that she didn't belong with either X-Men team anymore. X-23 bid farewell to Gambit and Wolverine, who were setting out for Westchester, before she drove off on a motorcycle into the sunrise.

After the events of Fear Itself, Laura joined the Avengers Academy. Immediately, she showed off her combat skills to the other Academy students by sparring with Tigra. Reptil, possessed by a future version of himself, made a comment to Hazmat, making her think that Laura was hitting on Mettle. She butts heads with Hazmat for quite some time until she proved herself to truly be on the Avengers' side. She chooses to stay with the Avengers after freeing her former X-Man peers to fight in the Avengers vs X-Men conflict.

X-23 tracked down to Las Vegas the man who stole her blood, who turned out to be Blackheart. He cloned her and bonded the clones with symbiotes, creating Symbiote Warriors.

Laura then made an alliance with Venom, Red Hulk (who was there chasing Venom) and Ghost Rider (who noticed the presence of Blackheart). Each four of them fought their Antithesis until they were all finally killed. Laura killed the Symbiote Warriors and then she moved to Blackheart who distracted her by telling her since he created her clones he knew if the clones had souls or not and she was herself a clone. Wanting to know if she had a soul or not she stopped, and Blackheart mockingly told her that she was in hell and she was suffering which meant she did have a soul. Then he seemingly killed her by throwing her into lava. In Hell, Mephisto offered the heroes a new chance to live in exchange for defeating Blackheart. While X-23 found Blaze, the other three managed to get the Spirit of Vengeance, which had been trapped by Blackheart, and wanted to get it to Blaze, so he would become Ghost Rider again. During the battle, Red Hulk and Venom were thrown away by Blackheart, Flash gave the symbiote to Red Hulk and it bonded with him as well as the Spirit, thus be-coming the new Ghost Rider.

Blackheart was defeated when Ghost Rider used a mirror which created Antitheses, being defeated by his. Meanwhile, X-23 and Flash were trying to help Johnny Blaze to return Hell from the dimensional portal and destroy it. When Las Vegas returned to normal, Red Hulk returned the symbiote to Flash and the Spirit of Vengeance to Alejandra. After the Secret Avengers arrived, X-23 left the scene.

X-23 along with 15 other people were kidnapped by Arcade and transported to Murderworld. Arcade forces all 15 people including X-23 to take place in a game of kill all or be killed. Arcade has stated he would only allow 1 of the 16 to live.

The games began after Mettle sacrificed himself for Hazmat. As the groups separate, Laura joined the remaining Avengers Academy students, which included Reptil, Hazmat, and Juston Seyfert. The group were then accidentally at-tacked by the female Deathlok named Rebecca Ryker who attacked Hazmat as a defense protocol.

After a few days, an unknown enemy was attacking the camps. Laura began to investigate the at-tacks. During the search, Juston disappeared after he was attacked while repairing his Sentinel. Laura soon came into contact with Cam-mi whom she spared after she discovered Cammi was not the culprit.

Laura, later meeting up with Haz-mat and Reptil, encountered the Runaways, Nico and Chase. In exchange for food, the Runaways asked for shelter. The team agreed until Reptil was suddenly hurt by a fire blast, which Laura and her team believed was Chase's doing. The group then banished Nico and Chase while the trio remained together.

As Reptil recovered, he informed X-23 and Hazmat that it wasn't Chase but Deathlocket who at-tacked him. It wasn't long after that Hazmat stepped on a switch to activate a trigger scent, causing Laura to go feral and attempt to kill her team members. Hazmat and Reptil managed to escape and left Laura on her own. She would later encounter Juston Seyfert once she regained her senses, and see that he was alive but in bad condition.

Once X-23 reunited with Hazmat and Reptil who had encountered Anachronism, Nara, Bloodstone, and Cammi, Hazmat fell into a trap that released more trigger scent. Seemingly unstoppable, X-23 at-tacked the others until she was momentarily defeated by Blood-stone's monster form. Bloodstone was reverted into human form at the cost of Nara's life. When X-23 recovered, she hunted and nearly killed Hazmat before a grieving Anachronism, seeking revenge for Nara, intervened.

After Arcade was defeated and help arrived, X-23 was last seen being carried off on a stretcher with Wolverine by her side.

Following her rescue from Murderworld, Laura somehow ended up wandering the streets of Miami in an amnesiac state, where she was rescued from a Purifier attack by Kitty Pryde and the time-displaced original X-Men. They returned her to Cyclops's base, where she panicked upon awakening inside a Weapon X facility and attempted to flee, the situation being exacerbated by confusion over seeing younger versions of Cylops, Jean, Iceman, Beast, and Angel. The teenaged Scott managed to catch up with her and calm her down. Though still confused, her memories started to return. Jean began to read X-23's mind and learn about her torture, but Kitty warned Jean that this was a mind she should stay out of. Cyclops surprised X-23 with a hug, explaining that it looked like she needed one.

Based on Laura's intelligence the team launched an attack against William Stryker, Jr., which failed catastrophically and the entire team was captured, though upon recognizing them as having come from the past, Stryker refrained from killing them to prevent damage to the timeline. Laura, however, he tortured by showing her the footage from Murderworld that Arcade released to the internet, including prominent imagery of her attacking the other kids in a trigger scent-induced rage. Seeing herself in this state, and the knowledge that the entire world has also seen it, finally broke her control, and when Cyclops broke free and res-cued her, she threw herself into his arms for comfort.

After the team returned to base following their escape from the Purifiers, the Shi'ar, having learned that Jean Grey had returned, attacked and took her captive. Laura fought in her defense along with the rest of the team, but was neutralized, and the Shi'ar escaped to put Jean on trial for actions her elder self-committed while in possession of the Phoenix Force.

The Guardians of the Galaxy arrived just as the Shi'ar fled, and the teams joined forces to bring her back. The Guardians' ship was attacked by a Shi'ar warship covering the kidnappers' withdrawal, and though Laura intended to join in the defense, Gamora declined her assistance, though praised her courage, leaving her and the rest of the X-Men to sit and wait. The arrival of Corsair and the Starjam-mers turned the tide of the battle, and the teenaged Scott was stunned and overwhelmed to learn his father was still alive. As he went to digest this in private, Laura followed after him and, after a brief conversation, returned the hug he gave her when they first met, noting that he needed it.

Upon arrival at the Shi'ar homeworld, Quill helped to formulate the plan of attack. X-23, knowing Jean's scent, volunteered to track her. However, Gladiator, having anticipated their arrival, met them upon disembarking, and a fight between the combined forces of the X-Men, Shi'ar, and Starjammers against Gladiator's forces began, in which X-23 participated.

Upon returning to Earth, Cyclops chose to remain with his father and left the team, asking Laura to help keep an eye on his friends. Distraught by his leaving, Laura decided to leave the team herself, with only the teenage Warren realizing she was doing so. She re-buffed his attempt to convince her return, however, and continued on her way. Much to her surprise, she ran into Cyclops, who claimed to have returned. However, this turned out to be a ruse, and with her guard down, the shapeshifter Raze gutted her, before disguising himself as her in turn and infiltrating the X-Men's base.

Laura, nevertheless, survived his attack and hurried back to find the X-Men under attack by the future Brotherhood. Jean used her telepathy to mask Laura's presence, and enabled her to catch Xavier, Jr. off guard, at which point she severely wounded him with her claws, breaking his control over the X-Men and enabling them to fight back. During the conflict it was dis-covered that Molly Hayes, Dead-pool and Beast had been mentally controlled by Xavier, and that Xorn no longer existed. While Laura fought Raze to a standstill, Xavier attempted to flee, only to be captured.

In the aftermath of the battle, Warren asked Laura on a date to unwind, to which she reluctantly agreed. Their first date led to a deeper relationship between Angel and X-23.

After Logan's demise, the news eventually reached Laura. Angry and upset, and questioning her role in life now that the man she looked to most for guidance was gone, she left the X-Men to do some soul-searching. After a heart to heart with former Alpha Flight member Colin Hume, in honor of Logan, she dyed the forelocks of her hair blue and gold. Laura re-marked to Kitty that she no longer felt angry about Wolverine's death, just sad, but that she has also found a source of pride in their relationship. After her time with the Wolverines, Laura ultimately honored Logan's past by becoming the all-new Wolverine.

Sometime after taking up the mantle, an anonymous tip about an assassination planned in Paris led Laura to the city to investigate. She was shot through the head protecting the intended target, but healed, and tracked the shooter to the Eiffel Tower. Laura managed to defeat the masked assassin after a short fight, but rather than be taken alive the woman called in a predator drone to finish the job before jumping off the tower to her death. Laura and Warren pursued the drone through the skies over Paris, and she was able to bring it down before it could finish off its target. Laura then returned to the Eiffel Tower and located the corpse of the assassin. Removing her mask confirmed Laura's hypothesis: the woman was her clone. She and Warren fled the scene, with Laura determined to both stop, and save, the assassins.

Upon returning to New York, she visited Alchemax Genetics to discuss the clones with its director and security chief. Laura then encountered one of the clones, Gabby, hiding in her apartment, who she realized was the one who tipped her off about the assassination. Gabby denied Chandler's accusations before fleeing. Laura tracked her to a hideout in the sewers where she was captured and interrogated by the remaining Sisters - Bellona and Zelda. Alchemax, however, followed her and at-tacked. Laura managed to subdue them and prevent Bellona from killing them, before they were am-bushed by Taskmaster. Laura subdued him, and she and the sisters fled through the streets of New York with Captain Mooney in pursuit. She disabled his vehicle, al-lowing the girls to escape, and issuing a warning to Mooney that they were under her protection, before leaving him bleeding in the street to meet up with the Sisters. However, upon arrival she learned a new piece of the story: the girls were dying. Unable to turn to any of her usual contacts, she instead took them to the Sanctum Sanctorum, seeking the aid of Doctor Strange.

After an altercation with a portal to evil in Strange's living room, he teleported them all to a hospital to investigate what was killing the girls. After examining Zelda, Strange discovered nanites inhabiting their brains that were responsible both for their inability to feel pain, and their declining health. Unable to operate on them directly, Strange teleported the girls to one of Hank Pym's labs to borrow an Ant-Man Suit. They were interrupted by Wasp, who agreed to help Laura enter Zelda's blood to fight the machines. They were successful, however attacking the nanites triggered a distress call alerting Mooney to their location. He tracked them down and fatally wounded Zelda before Laura and Jan were able to escape her body and subdue him. With her dying breath Zelda begged Laura to stop holding back, and to go after Al-chemax. Jan offered the help of the Avengers, but Laura refused, insisting it was her and the surviving Sisters' responsibility to punish Alchemax for their transgressions.

Wolverine and the surviving Sisters allowed Mooney to escape, and lead them back to Alchemax's bunker. Laura infiltrated the base by disguising herself as Bellona and allowing herself to be "killed" as a ruse. Upon awakening in the morgue, she captured the scientists there and forced them to up-load all data on Chandler's activities to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s servers, and contacted Maria Hill to call her in to clean up. While Bellona and Gabby dealt with Mooney, Laura intercepted Chandler and hobbled him before he could escape, ensuring his capture when Hill's forces arrived. She and Gabby then left the bunker together.

Following the destruction of Alchemax Genetics, Laura allowed Gabby to stay with her while it was decided what was to become of her. Gabby preferred to stay with Laura, however Laura intended to find a safe place elsewhere that Gabby could live a normal life, away from the chaos and danger of a superhero. Gabby's resistance and fear of being left alone dredged up painful memories of Laura's own desire to have a family with Logan; it took a visit by Squirrel Girl, who arrived bearing an actual wolverine later named Jonathan, for Laura to realize the best place for Gabby all along was with her.

Following an incident off the coast of the United States, in which several S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives vanished while disrupting an arms deal, Maria Hill contacted Laura to request her assistance investigating the disappearances. The only clue was the wreckage of the boat the arms dealer was using, and a box pulled from the water. Hill specifically contacted Laura because the first person she called in, and who also disappeared, was an alternate universe Logan. When Agent Fitz opened the box at Hill's direction, Laura caught the scent of its contents and realized what happened, warning Hill to pull her helicarrier to a safer altitude. However, the warning came too late, and the carrier came under attack by Fin Fang Foom, who was attracted by the pheromone — essentially a chemical aphrodisiac — contained within the box, and likely attacked both the missing S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Logan as well. Laura resolved to get them back, and allowed herself to be swallowed by Foom.

While Laura climbed down through Foom's digestive tract, Iron Man and Captain Marvel arrived to assist keeping Foom away from population centers. Laura managed to rescue the half-digested Logan, escaped back up out of Foom's mouth, and instructed Gabby to take him somewhere safe. Mean-while, she covered herself in the pheromone and used it to lure an amorous Foom out to sea. Laura was distressed when she returned home that evening to discover that Gabby brought Logan there to recover, as she adamantly refused to accept that he was her Logan. However, Logan awoke, and struck her speechless when he revealed that he recognized the apartment, and that it was where he raised her.

Laura found herself drawn into the conflict over the precognitive In-human Ulysses Cain, when Ulysses had a vision that Logan would kill Gabby. Captain America was dispatched by S.H.I.E.L.D. to detain Logan to ensure the girl's safety, but Laura, Logan, and Gabby all objected to imprisoning him for something he hadn't done. How-ever, a fight broke after Logan fled with Gabby under the guise of collecting his belongings and cooperating, with Rogers breaking away to pursue. With Logan and Gabby escaping using a pair of S.H.I.E.L.D. Flight Packs, Hill elected to shoot Logan down before he could get away. This, combined with S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives firing on him with tranquilizers drove him into a feral rage. Gabby attempted to calm him, but in the confusion he confused her for the Gabby of his home reality, and Laura watched helplessly as Gabby was impaled on his claws. Mad with grief, Laura tracked Logan into the sewers where he fled, still in his maddened state, and engaged him in a brief fight. Just as she was preparing a killing blow Logan snapped out of his berserk state and pleaded with her to stop, but it was only Gabby's arrival, revealing she survived her injuries because of her hidden healing factor, that convinced her to back down. However, she rejected Logan's attempt to justify his actions because of his knowledge of Gabby in his universe, and she permanently severed contact with him, demanding he leave them alone and never approach them again. She then regrouped with Rogers, advising him she was letting Logan go — she refused to blame him for his actions, accepting that he was driven to it by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s carelessness. Laura then departed, warning Rogers of the probable consequences of the conflict over Ulysses' visions, and demanding that she and Gabby be left out of it.

While packing up the apartment, Laura received a package containing a vial of the trigger scent, which spurred Laura into leaving with Gabby and Jonathan the wolverine. They drove to one of Logan's cabins out in California. As Laura ventured into a nearby town, over-head planes released the trigger scent, making Laura blackout and awaken to the town destroyed with its population killed. Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived on the bloody scene to apprehend her, but she escaped and planned a course to Madripoor for answers. Reluctantly, Laura brought Gabby and Jonathan along.

They voyaged to Madripoor on a pirate ship under the charge of Captain Ash, whom Laura was once sent to kill. Upon arrival, Laura turned on Captain Ash be-cause she was transporting children as her cargo. Captain Ash suddenly shot her in the stomach, but Laura ultimately threw her overboard as several helicopters hovered overhead, out of which Kimura's newest henchmen Bellona and Roughhouse appeared. Laura surrendered in order to avoid any of the children getting hurt and was taken to Kimura, while Gabby and Jonathan were being held captive on the ship to be transported back to the States.

Using the knowledge of Megan and Debbie's location against Laura, Kimura confined her in a torture chamber for a week to ensure that she came out angry. Kimura planted the trigger scent in the bloodstream of Tyger Tiger, whose leadership Kimura would fill once Tiger died, and set a frenzied Laura after her. Luckily, an escaped Gabbie intervened, and Gambit had to explode Laura in order to stop her completely. Laura woke up to see Gabby, young Warren, and Remy in Tyger Tiger's safehouse.

Young Jean was also brought there to help erase the trigger scent's effects from Laura's mind. While telling Laura that she loves her, Gabby poured the trigger scent on herself to begin the reconditioning. As Laura was lashing out at Gabby, Jean mentally found Laura's consciousness hiding with her younger self who was being read Pinocchio by her mother, Sarah Kinney, when she was still with the Facility. Jean said she understood why Laura's mind retreated to a safe memory in order to block out the pain associated with the trigger scent. Laura broke the trigger scent's control over her just in time to join the fight against Kimura and her forces, who had tracked the S.H.I.E.L.D. planes that had arrived also searching for Laura. During the battle, Laura used an old Iron Man suit to ambush Kimura and even-tually drown her in the ocean's shallows. A defeated Bellona sur-rendered to S.H.I.E.L.D., having revealed that it was she who slaughtered the Californian towns-people with her now adamantium-laced dual claws as a contingency because Laura had stabbed her-self in the skull to stop herself.

A week later, Laura, Warren, Gab-by, and Jonathan arrived at Megan and Debbie's house. Warren commented that he'd never seen her more scared. Laura was em-braced by her family as she reas-sured them of their safety and that there was no need to hide any-more.

Following their discovery of the child trafficking operation in Madripoor, Laura and Gabby began dismantling the operation by force. During one of these such raids, on the East River in New York, an alien craft was deflected from Manhattan and into Roosevelt Island by Ironheart. The vessel was carrying a very ill alien child from the Shi'ar Empire, and said the name "Laura Kinney" to Ironheart before she died. S.H.I.E.L.D. sent Captain Marvel to retrieve Laura to try and understand what was going on and stop the virus the alien child was carrying from killing the whole island.

Dr. Monica Rappaccini stole the child's body from the hospital and attempted to see if she could glean anything about a possible cure from it. Laura apprehended her, but agreed to let Dr. Rappaccini run some tests on Laura's reaction to the virus. Gabby, thinking Laura was in danger, destroyed Dr. Rappaccini's equipment. Working with Hank McCoy, Bobbi Morse, Amadeus Cho, Nadia Pym, Peter Parker, and Stephen Strange, they determined that Laura's healing factor could absorb and destroy the virus from other hosts.

Laura set about trying to cure the island, and asked that Gabby not try to help since she couldn't feel pain and wouldn't be able to tell when she reached her limit. Worrying that she was taking on too much by herself, Doctor Strange sent in Daken, Old Man Logan, and Deadpool to help spread out the workload. She was surprised that Daken would come to help, and he said that he wasn't doing it for the island, only her. Deadpool, mean-while, said he had been offered a gigantic amount of money.

Although Laura was reluctant to talk to Logan at first, he apologized for what had happened during their last encounter and Laura told him that she was glad he was sorry. Although they were both weak from absorbing so much of the virus, he said it still felt pretty good to be helping people instead of stabbing them. Laura managed to eradicate the last of the virus on the island, although she was un-conscious for two weeks after doing so.

Once she regained consciousness, Gabby told her that they had been offered an apartment on Roosevelt Island. Laura said she didn't accept rewards, but Gabby said that she had already accepted the offer and that technically it was her apartment, although she'd love to have Laura stay with her. Captain Marvel came to see Laura and let her know that a cure to the virus was being developed, and Laura said she would take the cure to the Arfesia's planet to try and eradicate the virus entirely with the help of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

After a week of space travel, they reach a moon on which a Shi'ar base was being constantly swarmed by The Brood. Once they landed on the moon, Gabby, Jonathan, and Baby Groot stayed behind on the ship while Wolverine and the Guardians tried to make contact with the moon base. Gabby became enraged after the Brood attacked Jonathan, and was subsequently captured. Drax prevented Laura from going after Gabby, believing that she was dead, and she and the Guardians entered the base, where Fang was waiting for them.

Arfesia had been sent to Earth with a list of names, including those of the scientists that had eventually developed the cure for the virus. She had only been able to give Laura's before she died. The virus had been engineered to try and control the Brood, but had backfired and not only made the Brood angrier, but infected the Shi'ar people as well.

Laura insisted on going after Gabby, and even when she saw her turn into a Brood Queen, refused to let the Guardians destroy the moon with her on it. After Gabby purged the Brood Queen and everyone was safely off the planet, Laura asked Rocket if he could still blow up the moon. Rocket said he could do it at the click of a button, and at the protests of Chief Scientist Rankine, Gabby did the honors.

Laura and Gabby were made aware that Daken's left arm had been found hanging from a bridge, and a scent left at the scene led Laura to believe that he had been taken to the Facility. Sneaking out of the apartment and asking Jonathan to look after Gabby, Laura got Warren to fly her out to the Facility. She found a tank in which a figure was submerged and smashed it, believing it was Daken. Instead, it was her mother, Sarah Kinney.

Laura took Sarah to Debbie and Megan's house, and Gabby met her there with Jonathan. Sarah claimed that someone had saved her after Laura had left her in the snow outside the Facility, and stored her in a tank. She told Laura that whoever it was that had saved her was looking for a way to kill the Wolverines, and Laura called Carol Danvers to ask her to throw the Muramasa Blade into the Sun.

Hearing gunfire, Laura ran from the house and saw Daken recklessly driving a car down the street. Confused at the lack of people pursuing him, Daken came inside with Laura, but was acting agitated, saying that he had been tortured for days by the Orphans of X and had seen them monitoring this house.

Daken was suspicious of the timing of Sarah's sudden return from the dead. At Laura's mention of Sarah's regular heartbeat, Daken aimed a gun at her, and, not hearing a change and concluding that she was not human, shot Laura's mother. This caused Laura to at-tack Daken, and Gabby and Megan to follow suit. He tried to explain that it wasn't Sarah, but Laura refused to listen until she knelt be-side Sarah and her eyes started to glow green, saying that the Or-phans of X were coming for her. Laura called Captain Marvel to call off her pursuit of the Muramasa Blade, but she was too late to warn her and suicide bombers from the Orphans of X incapacitated Carol, and the Blade was retrieved by Amber Griffen.

Laura, Daken, Gabby, Jonathan, Megan, and Debbie called Danger, the AI and pilot for the X-Men, and she helped them to evade helicopters sent by the Orphans. Realizing that Madripoor would not be safe for them, Laura instead asked Danger to take them to Tokyo, after which they travelled through the sewers to get to Muramasa himself.

Once there, Muramasa forged a set of armor using pieces of Laura, Gabby, Daken's essence as well as the piece of Logan's that he al-ready had from forging the Muramasa Shield. Laura was reluctant to rest afterwards, but Debbie insisted on keeping her in bed. Days later, the Orphans of X found them and Laura was able to put the Muramasa Armor to the test, using it to protect her family from the Hand, who had been employed by the Orphans, as well as the Orphans themselves.

Daken allowed himself to be captured and killed so that Wolverine and Honey Badger - which was Gabby's new superhero name at his suggestion - could track his location to find the Orphans' base. Laura was able to revive him along with Old Man Logan, Lady Death-strike, and Sabretooth. Wolverine asked that Sabretooth and Death-strike not kill anybody, and they questioned the last Orphan conscious, who told them that they were the families of the Wolverines' victims, and had decided to come together in organized violent action after the incident on Roosevelt Island, because they were sickened by the sources of their nightmares being hailed as heroes.

Laura learned that Henry Sutter, who she had spared from assassination while she was still an assassin for the Facility, was the one who had organized the group. She decided to talk to the Orphans directly, and help them see that she was a victim as well. As she talked, she shed the Muramasa Armor and explained what she had been made to do. She also revealed to Amber that Henry Sutter's father had been the one that ordered the hit that collaterally killed her father. The Orphans of X took a vote and decided to accept the help of Wolverine, Honey Badger, Old Man Logan, and Daken to bring the real people responsible to justice.

After Laura recovered from the wounds she sustained during the confrontation, a funeral was held for Sarah Kinney. Daken had helped to arrange it by asking the Orphans for Sarah's true body, because he wanted Laura to have a chance to say goodbye.

After Gabby didn't return from taking Jonathan for a walk, Laura tracked her down and found that she and Deadpool had started to destroy the lab where Jonathan had been abused. Gabby said she didn't call her because she was worried that Laura would try to stop her, but Laura assured her that she would have come. Together, they set the building alight and watched it burn.

After going over the files Henry had obtained about his father's work, Laura discovered a connection from Martin Sutter to a lobbyist for a Neo-Nazi organization named Chad Newman. Newman was the man who had targeted Greg Johnson on X-23's first mission, and was therefore indirectly responsible for the death of Amber's father. Laura advised that Amber pack a pair of extra-large Nazi-stomping boots on their trip to Vanatu to find Newman. Amber took this advice to heart, and when they tracked him down, she offered to lend Laura the right foot so that they could get their justice together.

Sometime following her encounters with the Orphans of X, Laura became embroiled in the investigation into Logan's missing corpse purely by chance when she encountered a team led by Iron Man and consisting of Spider-Man, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. Stark's team and Laura were both independently investigating the auction of genetic material by Mr. Sinister aboard his submarine.

After breaking up the auction and escaping the floundering vessel, Laura joined the other heroes in pursuing Sinister to his research base in the Kerguelen Islands. There they discovered that Sinister was compiling an enormous data-base of genetic material from everyone on earth.

Stark's interest in Essex's work caused a brief conflict with the rest of the group as they debated how to proceed; Laura and the others wanted to destroy the installation immediately, but Stark saw potential in what Essex had compiled. However, any further debate was silenced first by a handful of guards, and then the discovery that not only were mutants missing from the database, but someone else had beaten them there and wiped out the majority of the defenses.

They eventually discovered the location of the missing mutant in-formation at another terminal, which was heavily encrypted. Stark observed while decrypting it that the mutant database had been recently copied, and again came to a disagreement with the rest of the team, who insisted they honor a wish by Logan to prevent his body from ever being used. Their debate was interrupted again when Sinister himself attacked, though weakened by the previous attack the team made short work of him. Sinister made a final appeal to Stark — scientist to scientist — to see the potential, but Stark relented upon remembering Logan's own appeal to be better than that and destroyed the database.

Back in Harlem, Laura noticed that Stark had been watching her since their escape from Sinister's base. She confronted him, and Stark admitted that before the database had been destroyed, he had decrypted and looked at the data, and that Laura's gene file was one of the files he had seen. Stark then told Laura that she was not a clone of Logan after all and asked her about Sarah. Taken aback, Laura related Sarah's role in her creation, and that she viewed her as her mother. Stark then told her when he looked at her file, he noticed that a substantial amount of her genetic makeup came from Sarah, making Laura her biological daughter, as well, leaving her stunned by the revelation.

After her time with Jean Grey's X-Men. Laura gave up the Wolverine moniker and returned to her X-23 codename. She specifically chose the name — which she had long come to hate — as a symbolic warning to those she was hunting that their own creation was coming for them.

Laura and Gabby, with the help of Hank McCoy, began to track down people who were involved in the cloning of Laura and subsequent projects. At the same time, Gabby became fixated on the idea of a birthday after learning the Cuckoos celebrated one. For their birthday the remaining three Cuckoos had planned to bring their two sisters back from the dead. Because their psychic powers were incompatible with the cloned bodies they con-structed, Esme transferred her consciousness to a kidnapped Gabby, hoping to utilize her healing factor. Meanwhile, Sophie, whose body's destruction had been accelerated by Esme, contacted Laura psychically and offered her assistance.

When Mindee came to find Laura, Sophie persuaded her to their side, and they drove to the X-Mansion to face the others. In the midst of the fight between Laura and Esme, Mindee slipped into the mansion to use Cerebro, and together with Phoebe and Celeste, they trapped her in the psychic plane after being removed from Gabby. Later on, Gabby invited some X-Men friends to their apartment for a 'funeral party' for Esme, which included cake and party hats.

In the reality created by Nate Grey and a Life Seed, a world where everyone on Earth was a mutant and relationships were strongly discouraged or illegal, Laura be-came a member of that reality's X-Men, the primary response team to all matters of worldwide threats and danger. She unknowingly replaced Bishop on the X-Men after he was arrested by Department X for having a forbidden relationship with Jean Grey, and all traces of his existence were erased.

Nate Grey's illusion didn't take long to show some glitches and Laura started seeing glimpses of her past life with Gabby, during one of her first missions with the team. After talking to Nate about it, he con-fessed she had indeed a sister, but shoved it aside, claiming they all made sacrifices.

She remained with the team for a while, but her suspicion that some-thing wasn't right never went away. After finding Bishop's secret armory in her place and talking with the other X-Men about it, the assembled X-Men began to plan how to confront their teammate. Although they had developed a peaceful approach to confront Nate, tensions spilled over at their meeting and the X-Men attacked him head on.

Nate soon revealed his involvement in the creation and maintenance of the reality, and the physical and mental toll it was taking upon his body. While revealing the truth, members of the X-Tracts and the Danger Room prison (that included Gabby) attacked the gathered group, forcing the X-Men to protect Nate until matters could be sorted. After a brief skirmish, Nate revealed images of Cyclops and the other remaining mutants from the mainstream reality, using the images to highlight the pain and suffering caused by their relation-ships with one another and humanity, and taunting each of them with some fear or insecurity, with Laura attacked over a deep-seated fear that she could never escape Logan's shadow. Jean insisted that their bonds with others were what made them who they were and that they needed to be able to make mistakes together. After some discussion over what they were returning to and the ramifications of dismantling this reality upon its inhabitants, the X-Men eventually all decided to leave the manufactured utopia and returned home.

Later, Laura became one of the inhabitants of the nation of Krakoa. She teamed up with Psylocke and young Cable in investigating the new threat of Apoth.

Not long after, she resumed using the Wolverine codename and was picked along with Darwin and Synch to go into the Vault in Ecuador, as she was one of the few mutants who could survive the temporal disparity. As soon as the three entered the Vault, they seemed to lose contact with the X-Men, and because time moved much quicker inside the Vault, the trio were stuck within for centuries. During their first day, while engaging the Children of the Vault in battle, Laura killed Serafina and Fuego. After seeing her teammates killed, Aguja angrily killed herself by projecting a force field that destroyed everything around her in an attempt to kill her foes.

However, Wolverine recovered with her healing factor, as did her teammates. The team then spent 100 years inside the Vault gathering intelligence on the Children and learned that the City could resurrect any Children that were killed through cloning in order to continuously evolve them. Wolverine and Synch also became romantically involved, although it took Laura time to warm up to him - their first kiss didn't happen until their 217th year together. After Wolverine and Darwin were captured, Synch, who couldn't rely on Wolverine's longevity powers any-more, fled the Vault for a week and returned 100 years having passed. He managed to rescue Wolverine, but Darwin was captured by the City in order to learn how to create a new generation of Children. The couple then attempted to leave the Vault, but Wolverine had to stand behind to hold off the Children while Synch fled outside. Synch was also eventually killed by the Children but managed to make telepathic contact with X and ensure everything he'd learned about the Vault was passed onto his resurrected form. Wolverine was also resurrected, but without the memories of their time in the Vault, leaving Synch with the burden of remembering their time together all alone.

It remained unknown to anyone that the newly-resurrected Laura was a duplicate, as the original Laura was not killed, but captured and kept alive by the Children in-side the Vault. Forge eventually discovered her on a rescue mission for whom he thought was Darwin and managed to get her out of the Vault. Now sporting a gray streak in her hair, Laura was welcomed by the X-Men who immediately called for Synch. As soon as he got on the spot, Laura jumped into his arms in a passion-ate kiss. Afterwards, she moved with him into the X-Men's Tree-house in New York City. After some spending some time together with Synch, they went for a talk with the younger Laura whom until then everyone presumed to be the orig-inal. The two women met up in Detroit and set up some rules for their now shared existence. The younger Laura forfeited her resur-rection rights to the older Laura but insisted that she would keep the name "Wolverine". The older Laura agreed but warned that she wasn't looking for future socializing or even encounters between them. She then adopted her old code-name "Talon".

HISTORY
Before obtaining magical artifacts known as the Star Stones, that for all intents and purposes made him an immortal, Rune began his life as an anthropomorphic-like alien in the Ultraverse. The effects of the Star Stones did more than grant him everlasting life, they damned him to live in a horrific and grotesque body as well instilling in him a craving for blood and the life-force of others that the Star Stones require, and those in turn grant him his various abilities and powers.

Rune, wearing a suit of black battle armor, fell to Earth-616 during the Hyborian Age in Turan, in the dunes beyond Aghrapur. He seemed to have been weakened due to a recent battle. A bedouin encampment found him and nursed him back to health. For 100 days he recovered, and soon the bedouins came to see him as a god. However, he suddenly bit the head off of and fed on a young female worshipper, Issa, and he then started preying on the others.

Rune used his Star Stones to see future hardships. One of the visions was an image of Conan. Rune was skeptical that a simple barbarian could pose a true threat to him.

Conan happened upon the corpses of Rune's victims, where he learned what had happened from one man who survived. Conan put the suffering man out of his misery and swore to avenge him and his people. Conan walked into a trap and was ambushed by Rune. However, perhaps due to Rune's recent injuries, Conan was actually able to gain the upper hand on Rune, beating him relentlessly, and leaving him broken, bleeding, and apparently dead. However, suddenly Rune's Star Stones glowed and Rune was revived. Conan tried to rip Rune's necklace off to stop the Star Stones from restoring him completely, but instead he was overcome by visions of Rune in various forms, slaughtering entire races. When he awoke, Rune had vanished, and Conan was left with only questions.

Twenty years after his first encounter with Rune, Conan was on his tenth year of his reign as king of Aquilonia. Members of the Brotherhood of the Spider sent assassins to attack him and his queen Zenobia in their bedchamber. He slew the assassins, then directed a host to the Minas-H'Rath, tower of the Brotherhood of the Spider. Conan, with a group of soldiers, went to deal with the Brotherhood. Rune then arrived, in search of power, as the Brotherhood was in the process of summoning the demonic being B'eethra. Rune slew Hadrius as B'eethra arrived. Rune then sprang for B'eethra, who recognized Rune as having slain his race in the past, but B'eethra consumed Rune. However, Rune managed to blast his way out of him, absorbing his power. Exultant that he had won, Rune did not notice Conan sneak up on him and decapitate him. Still living, Rune's head screamed in horror as Conan then dismembered the rest of Rune's body, cutting off his limbs and wings. As life faded from Rune's eyes, Conan and his men left the cavern, but Rune's eyes soon shone with life again.

Following the events of Godwheel, as Thor opens a portal to leave, Rune jumps into it at the last second and is transported along with Thor back to Marvel Earth-616. After exiting the portal, Rune encounters and almost kills Powderkeg by drinking his blood. Doing so gives Rune more power and results in him sensing the Infinity Gems. Rune then goes to find Gamora as he can sense the Infinity Gems on her, and by using his vampire-like powers is able to enthrall her into giving him information which includes who has each of the Gems and where those people currently are located. Rune's first target is Maxam, and after attacking him Rune steals the Time Gem. Once in possession of the Time Gem, Rune uses it to freeze time and proceeds to steal the remaining gems, first the Space Gem from Pip the Troll, second the Reality Gem from Thanos, third the Mind Gem from Moondragon, and fourth the Power Gem from Drax the Destroyer.

When Rune tries to steal the Soul Gem from Adam Warlock it transports him to the Soul World inside the gem where he encounters and battles Adam. During their battle, Adam cautions Rune that all of the Infinity Gems can never be used in conjunction with each other but the Soul Gem betrays Adam and assumes control over Rune and the other Infinity Gems. As Rune possesses all of the Infinity Gems, the Soul Gem unites them all together to form the Infinity Gauntlet and forces Rune to open a portal to the Ultraverse. While Rune is traveling back to the Ultraverse and battling the Soul Gem for control, the Silver Surfer, who had followed him, arrives and blasts Rune's hand completely off with the Power Cosmic, but as a result scatters all the gems and Rune into a vortex to the Ultraverse before he can gather them up.

At the other end of the portal Rune lands in the Isle of Mytos located in the Mediterranean Sea and is threatened by the Soul Gem which is attached to his forehead. After he is pulled out of the water and aboard a ship by a pair of men, he kills them both and drains their life-force. Upon entering the ship, Rune notices himself in a mirror and realizes that the Soul Gem is draining his own life force, making his body look older, and that he must find more sustenance. Rune then proceeds to kill and drain the life forces of every crew member on board the ship but is dismayed when neither his power or appearance have changed at all. Rune again tries to gain control over the Soul Gem but is too weak and falls unconscious from the exertion. To save Rune from dying the Soul Gem reanimates the dead sailors and orders them to take care of him.

While Rune's body is on the verge of death, he is found by Gemini and manages to convince Gemini that the only reason he is still alive is because of the Gem on his forehead. Gemini then removes the Soul Gem which enables Rune's body to rehabilitate itself, and as Rune is re-growing his hand that was burned off he notices Gemini struggling with the Soul Gem. As Gemini continues to fight off the Soul Gem, Rune tries to use this preoccupation to consume Gemini's soul and life-force but is instead blown back by Gemini's power. After coming to, Gemini attacks Rune and drains almost all of his life-force being urged on by the Soul Gem to kill Rune, but Gemini resists the Soul Gem and instead throws Rune's shriveled up body into a dimensional portal to the Negative Zone.

When Thanos attempted to reclaim the Infinity Gems, he opened up a dimensional gateway and found one gem encased in the shriveled up skeleton of Rune.

HISTORY
In 1591, Mary Seward was a servant girl for the aristocratic Bennett family, along with being the secret lover of the son of the manor's lord, Andrew. They thought to run away together, as Andrew's father would not approve of their relationship. However, one night, he did not return, only leaving a letter to her noting that they could never be together that broke both of their hearts. A year later, he returned, but she was distraught, having been left to his father's lusts in that time. She considered his having been changed into a monster as the divine punishment that she had prayed for. He explained that he was changed, and had made him-self the master of what he became - and she would become his mistress. He kissed her, then, for the first time. Not long after being turned, Mary admitted to Andrew that she planned to use her new abilities to kill those who had wronged her in life. Though he had tried to dissuade her, she left without him, leaving him to discover that she had already brutally murdered Lord Bennett just prior to his return, as revenge for raping her. By Andrew's reckoning, while his change to a vampire had unlocked "strength and compassion and power" within him, what was un-locked within Mary was "hatred and bile and evil."

At one point in her centuries of unlife, Mary became a part of the collection of immortal beings known as the Immortal Men.

By the beginnings of the 21st Century, Mary had grown tired of leaving humans alone as her kind fell into stagnation and the seemingly inevitable unremembered extinction. Amassing a group of vampires into an army she called Blood Red Moon, she sought to become a true revolutionary in the vein of "Martin Luther King and Malcolm X and Ben Franklin all rolled into one" as it had been during the American Revolutionary War, displacing humans with vampires as the top of the evolutionary ladder. Naturally, Mary wanted him to come with her, to change his mind and help lead the fight against humans, despite the emergence of superheroes. The perspective that vampirism is a disease disgusted Mary, and, after mockingly using her pre-vampirism form as an insinuation that Andrew wants her to go back to being her former demure self, she angrily transformed into the form she felt was most true to her, the naked form of the Queen of Blood. She accused him of trying to take away all that she ever was for the last four hundred years. Even so, she still loved him, and they spent the night together. The next morning, Mary had left a note announcing that today she had begun her holy war against humans.

Shortly after leaving their bed, Mary had, in a show of defiance toward Andrew as her first act of the day, drained a nearby maintenance woman of her blood. Joining her army, she ordered them to march up and out onto the streets of Boston and kill humans, and if Andrew Bennett should come and kill them, those who die will be martyrs. Despite her desire to be free, and her feelings of superiority, Mary hoped to herself that there would a better future for vampires, and that Andrew would see the error of his ways, and join her. When she faced Andrew after he had dealt with her forces around his apartment, she regretfully fought him and ordered her vampires to kill him. She knew that the horde will be unable to kill him, and merely wanted to send a message to him, a humiliation, while the horde would come to see him as the traitor to vampires he truly was, marking him for death.

Thereafter, she and her cult spread their war across the United States of America, attacking Star City, Coast City, and Los Angeles in mass abductions before Mary left a message for Andrew indicating that she was planning on attacking Gotham City next, heading there on a freight train. When Andrew came to Gotham and began looking for Mary and her vampires, he, along with Professor John Troughton, Tig Rafelson, and Batman, came face to face with her and her grown horde in the basement of the Gotham Courthouse.

Futilely, Andrew tried to talk Mary, the Queen of Blood into calling off the horde, but she merely thanked him for bringing Batman to "play with," teasing that he would make an excellent king to her queen. The vampires persisted, and Batman urged that they needed to fall back or be overtaken. Furthermore, a sizable amount of the horde was sired by another vampire, who Andrew managed to kill and free those who had not become full-bloods, to Mary's anger and anguish. When Batman explained that Mary's vampires were not worthy of death nor were they the oppressed, but were instead criminals who deserved justice, Mary merely laughed and mockingly challenged him to arrest her. As he knew that she could turn intangible, he instead wrapped her in a magically charged piece of rope that would hopefully subdue her with a shock long enough to have Zatanna deal with her, the rope had little effect beyond a brief shock, and he was tossed aside, with the preparation to turn him to a vampire as well. As Andrew distracted her briefly, she saw as Tig killed him, making Mary laugh as she realized that Tig did not know his death would not stop her in any way, having been turned for far longer than the three-day mark. However, to their surprise, his death fulfilled his destiny as the "Demon's Lock," unleashing Cain, Sire of All Vampires upon the Earth once more.

Following the rise of Cain, the original vampire took control of the Cult of the Blood Red Moon away from Mary. In fact, this point aggravated her, and she tried to confront Cain, but his power proved to be too much for her. On that point, she turned against Cain altogether, taking sides with the Justice League Dark and Batman in order to face down her former children and prevent Cain from taking over the world. Still, her efforts in her monstrous form were for naught, as Cain used his powers to remove the vampires' weaknesses, even as she fought alongside the magic users.

Upon Andrew's resurrection and his ability to both turn Cain's vampires to dust and restore them to attack Cain, an excited Mary rushed to her lover's side, who admitted to the error of his ways and had the vampires attack their original sire before decapitating him. Soon after Cain's destruction, Mary sought to use her army as she once had intended, but Andrew put a stop to that by removing the memory of all of the events of Cain's rise from the consciousness of everyone but Tig, who had caused them in the first place. He followed this by giving a mission to John, then leaving with Mary and their vampires to build their empire anew.

In the Utah desert, Mary worked with Andrew to control the mass that was nearly every vampire in North America. When Andrew returned after a brief time away from the commune, Mary intercepted him and attempted to convince him to just let the vampires feed on humans. As a result, Andrew faced the assembled, announcing that they were free to feed as they wish to - if they could beat him in a fight. Only Mary called out, and taking up his offer, with the terms being that if she defeated him, she would get her army back, but if she lost, she would die.

After quite some time, the lovers were still at a stalemate. Andrew's power may not last forever, and Mary promised that she would keep fighting until she set him right or left him dead. However, they were startled by the imminent fire-bombing they faced at the hands of the Order of the Van Helsings, whom Andrew had John and Tig contact for him, to Mary's anger. In defiance of Andrew's order other-wise, Mary had the vampires attack the coming Van Helsings and kill them many at a time, but the fanatics rose again as mummies due to their Anubis necklaces. As the fight went on, Mary was present as Andrew mercilessly tortured Van Helsing before his death, and realized that those who her vampires were biting were cursing the vampires with their own necklaces through their blood, turning them into vampire zombie vampire hunters. As Stormwatch entered the battle when Mary and Andrew's group were attempting to kill as many of the vampires as they could (having been frozen by Andrew's magic), and Tig was bitten by one of the zombie vampires, Andrew was convinced to use his magic to again become a Demon's Lock, using his magic to absorb all of the vampires into his own body. Though the process turned him into a truly evil vampire (and the only one remaining a vampire at all), Mary was reverted to pure humanity for the first time in approximately five hundred years.

Two months after she and John had to retreat back to Boston and away from Andrew and Tig's assault on Stormwatch, Mary lost her drive to do evil, and instead merely wanted to be held by the man she loved, though that was obviously not possible at the moment. She and John Troughton were trying, perhaps futilely, to find any lead on saving Andrew; to get him back. Going for a walk through the Boston streets, she was mugged, knocked unconscious. Awakening, she tore through his lip with her teeth, showing both to him and herself that while she was no longer supernaturally empowered, she was still the same, dangerous woman, further proving it by impaling his head against a spike of splintered wood. Returning to John, she told her plan to seek out the man who sired Andrew, the Demon's Lock, in an attempt to save him. However, she was aware, much to her annoyance, that one woman knew Andrew better than she: Deborah Dancer, who she finds, alongside John, in Maine, in the process saving her from Andrew and Tig, the former aiming to turn her as Mary herself could not due to his post-resurrection ability to change the rules of vampirism. She and John ended up burning down Deborah's cottage to escape with her, needing to leave her dog Mishkin behind as a sacrifice to cover for their escape. Escaping back to Boston, they told Deborah of their need for her help, how Deborah was necessary due to knowing Andrew as he was, rather than in Mary's case, how she wished he would be.

Going together to Bennett's Wood, Andrew's family's former land in Glastonbury, England, Mary and her two companions attempted to raise a spectral impression of Andrew's death using Native American magic in order to see who turned him. The spell raised a specter of Bartholomew, Andrew's former carriage driver, who could not say much of the killer, but upon realizing that he had died and been raised by black magic, remarked that Lord Bennett, Andrew's father, had been right to warn Andrew away from Mary. As she had thought Andrew had never gotten the nerve to tell his father about her, Mary was shocked, and realized that the note he had sent to her had been after he had turned, and that he had always intended to be with her. Trying to retrace Andrew's steps after the accident in hopes of finding some clue, Mary and company were surprised to find Cain, now a human, who admitted to being Andrew's sire.

As Cain told his life story, Mary became frustrated with its slow pace, eager to know what could be done to turn Andrew back to his old non-evil self. Grumpily, she stormed out, grumbling to herself until she was interrupted by John Constantine, who offered his help despite their animosity on account of him being part of the Justice League Dark, and revealed Andrew's current whereabouts and actions. Mary returned with Constantine to the others, explaining that Andrew had killed most of the Van Helsings by then and that he would be on his way to his next location, before eagerly leaving the bar where they had been listening to Cain despite his intention to finish his story and how it involved Andrew. As Constantine led the others to the House of Mystery in the hope of using it to enter the pocket dimension of the Armory within Castle Van Helsing, the door was already locked, and when opened, revealed Andrew waiting for them inside.

Despite Constantine's worry about what Andrew's control of the House meant, Mary and the others decided it did not matter, and entered anyway. She found herself alone in a dark room, surrounded by the animated corpses of all of those whom she killed, whom Constantine saved her from by making them all disappear. However, soon after rescuing her, they found themselves face to face with An-drew - and John Troughton's heart. Quickly, Constantine bound Andrew to a wall, as they sensed the gate to Hell opening, and left the corrupt vampire with Mary while he left to close it. With Andrew trapped, Mary demanded to know why he chose not to turn her. He explained that she had her chance, and failed to do anything of value with her power. Pressing against him, she suggested that together they could have done more. As they kissed, Andrew bit into her lip, hoping to turn her, but Tig arrived, decapitating her before there was any chance.

When a redeemed and renewed Andrew attempted to charge the gateway to Hell that threatened to destroy reality, Mary's spirit arrived instead and slapped him away, angrily, she warned that for all that Andrew had taken away from her, he would not take away her martyrdom too. Sent by God, she was tasked with killing Lilith and Cain, the former having possessed Tig. After the two's defeat, she admitted to Andrew that she was not to stay in the mortal realm. As they professed their love for one another, she admitted she would wait for him on the other side before disappearing.

Creature Commandos

Background:
By 1941, Europe had already been fiercely embroiled in the Second World War. It was only a matter of time before America would be forced to recognize the atrocities of Nazi Germany and commit itself to the Allied cause. The United States government collaborated with all branches of the armed forces to create a special program specializing in psychological warfare. Their program became known in covert circles as Project M.

In the spring of that same year, Project M established itself in a secret laboratory annex beneath the Statue of Liberty. One of Project M's most eminent scientists, Professor Mazursky, realized that psychologically, all humans were viscerally frightened by images of ghoulish, ghastly monsters. Taking advantage of such a paradigm, he labored to create a team of super-powered soldiers whose physical visage would inspire terror in enemy forces. At first, Mazursky recruited soldiers on a strictly volunteer basis. Three army officers named Warren Griffith, Vincent Velcro and Elliot Taylor were trans-formed into horrifying warriors that resembled a werewolf, a vampire and the Frankenstein Monster. Joined by a fourth female member, Doctor Myrra Rhodes, these monstrosities became known as the Creature Commandos.

Led by the only human in their group, Lieutenant Matthew Shrieve, their first mission was in France, where they destroyed Nazi androids duplicates of world leaders. They often based themselves out of London, as in their next mission to France to free scientist Dr. Renee Frederique. They found she'd been captured and replaced by a Nazi agent. The Commandos ultimately found her in a death camp, but were given orders to kill Frederique as her knowledge of a chemical nerve gas was too risky to fall into Axis hands. For his part in such a senseless killing, Taylor attempted suicide. When the doc-tors "repaired" him, he was left with rudimentary vocal cords. In another morally dubious mission, Shrieve impersonated Nazi Colonel Emil Kruger and they sacrificed the lives of dozens of super-soldier children. They redeemed themselves and won Medals of Honor when they saved a group of blind French children from the Nazis. Shrieve ultimately decided that his personality clashed too much with the Commandos. But he was assigned to a desk job and no one else would volunteer to lead the Commandos. They were brought back together in saving a gathering of French civilians.

The Commandos were later given broader assignments across the globe. In 1943, the Commandos ventured to the mythical Dinosaur Island in the South Pacific, where they were supposed to solve the disappearance of several Allied spotter planes. They discovered a Japanese naval fleet near the is-land and were able to turn the dinosaurs on the Japanese ships. Shrieve took pictures for his commanders as proof of the island's existence. However, Taylor destroyed them as he reasoned that the war could only bring destruction to the dinosaurs. The Commandos would later return to Dinosaur Island, they met J.A.K.E., the first G.I. Robot. J.A.K.E. had been left in the ocean after attacking an enemy ship. It was there he met the Commandos when their plane was attacked by a dinosaur and crashed landed. Together, the Commandos and J.A.K.E. discovered a supposed lost colony of Atlantis situated in the Pacific. The lost colony had created a group of robots to carry on the work of Atlantean conquest, and these androids took control of the G.I. Robot's mind. J.A.K.E. ultimately overrode their commands and sacrificed itself to destroy the colony. The Commandos soon met J.A.K.E.'s successor J.A.K.E. II, in which, together, they saved a Scottish princess from the blitz and J.A.K.E. II became an official member of the Commandos.

At the end of the war, the fate of the Commandos and J.A.K.E. II were (supposedly) spared from a government-directed death sentence to man a rocket aimed at Berlin. Instead, the rocket went radically off course and headed deep into outer space.

HISTORY
Myrna Rhodes was a medical doctor working at the government facility responsible for creating the Creature Commandos. The Creature Commandos were a group of three soldiers who were made to look like and have similar abilities to a werewolf, a vampire, and a Frankenstein monster in order to sow fear in the ranks of the Nazi forces they would be sent into battle against.

When the Commandos' commanding officer, Lt Shrieve, was badly injured in battle, he was brought to her for treatment. Even as badly wounded as he was, Shrive still kept up his stream of cruel insults against his subordinates. Myrna stepped in and defended them against his insults.

The Commandos were actually rooting for Shrive to be scarred for life so he'd look like a 'freak' like what he always told them they were. Myrna was able to completely reconstruct his face though, and make him look just as normal as he always had. He, of course, took the opportunity to pile on more insults against the Commandos. The Commandos, feeling desperate, asked Myrna if she could use her skills as a plastic surgeon to help them and she had to tell them that she was unable to. That was the last straw, and it had them fumbling and stumbling out of the room in their despair.

Concerned, Myra chased after them to tell them that Shrive wasn't right, that they were people just like anyone else and that they shouldn't be ashamed. In their haste though, the Commandos knocked over a cart of experimental chemicals and Myrna got covered with them.

She was rushed away by the medical staff, and, when she woke up, she found herself with snakes growing from her head instead of hair, so that she looked just like the Medusa of Greek myth.

Because of her new appearance, no one would let her be their doctor, so she lost her job. Seeing no other course of action, she offered to join up with the Creature Commandos unit as Doctor Medusa.

HISTORY
Elliot Taylor was a good-hearted Marine Private who was nicknamed "Lucky". Lucky was stationed on an island in the Pacific Ocean during World War II when he stepped on a land mine. Surgeons from Project M ("M" for "Monster") spent weeks putting him back together, albeit not the way he was originally constructed. This gave Taylor the appearance of Frankenstein's monster with increased size and great strength but with the inability to speak. He, alongside the others changed by Project M, became the part of the military unit known as the Creature Commandos led by U.S Army Intelligence Officer Lt. Matthew Shrieve.

The Creature Commandos were sent on missions no sane unit would touch and became some scary story men would tell each other on the battlefield. At the waning days of the war the Creature Commandos and the G.I. Robot (J.A.K.E.) were court-martialed for some unstated offense and were given the choice of execution or test flying a experimental space-craft. They chose the latter, but the ship malfunctioned and was lost somewhere in deep space. At some time, the ship was found and captured by the Coluan known as Brainiac and was kept in suspended animation until their release on the newly formed New Krypton. They were returned to the American government and fell under the command of General Sam Lane.

After the death of General Lane, through the manipulations of Maxwell Lord, Velcro and the others were reassigned to a fake Project Cadmus base in Vietnam. There they fell under the mental control of Lord and were further "altered" by Professor Ivo. Then they were sent after Justice League International in a scheme of Lord's to kidnap Jaime Reyes (the current Blue Beetle). Once Lord and Reyes were teleported from the fight, the Creature Commandos were freed from Lord's control.

HISTORY
Little is known of the life of Vincent Velcro before he volunteered for Project M ("M" for "Monster") or why he was serving a thirty-year sentence in an army brig. Upon volunteering for six months Velcro was injected with a compound com-posed of experimental chemicals and blood extracted from the New Mexican Vampire bat. This gave him the appearance of a vampire with their bloodlust. He, alongside the others changed by Project M, became the part of the military unit known as the Creature Commandos led by U.S. Army Intelligence Officer Lt. Matthew Shrieve.

CONTACTS: Creature Commandoes, Project M

HISTORY
Warren Griffith was an Oklahoma farm boy who was determined 4F by the U.S. military. As Warren also suffers from lycanthropy, he was recruited for Project M ("M" for "Monster") where a team of specially-selected scientists and medical men managed to manifest his condition physically. This gave him the ability to change into a werewolf, which at first was unstable as he would change back and forth uncontrollably. Griffith and the rest of the projects subjects were then formed into a military unit called the Creature Commandos led by U.S Army Intelligence officer Lt. Matthew Shrieve.

The Creature Commandos were sent on missions no sane unit would touch and became some scary story men would tell each other on the battlefield. At the wan-ing days of the war the Creature Commandos and the G.I. HISTORY
Jake's full designation is Jungle Automatic Killer - Experimental II. He was designed by the scientists of Project M to aid U.S. military personnel during World War II. When the first G.I. Robot was destroyed saving a crew of marines in the Pacific, the War Department deployed a fighter plane to Tattu Island to deposit his replacement, J.A.K.E. II. Sgt. Blaney of Green Patrol found the crate containing J.A.K.E. II's robotic components, and his men worked feverishly to assemble him. At first, J.A.K.E. II failed to activate, and Blaney believed that they had made a mistake in piecing him together. Shortly thereafter, the Japanese soldiers stationed on Tattu Island unleashed their own version of the G.I. Robot - Krakko, the Samurai Robot. Krakko attacked Green Patrol's camp and it appeared that all was lost. Fortunately for Sgt. Blaney's men, J.A.K.E. II activated and rose to their defense. Disconnecting his own head, he wielded it like a flail and used it to utterly destroy the Samurai Robot. Blaney and the rest of Green Patrol were confident now that J.A.K.E. II would be just as valuable to them as his predecessor.

Soon after, the administrators at Project M united the G.I. Robot with its predecessor's colleague Sgt. Coker. They were stationed briefly on the mysterious Dinosaur Island, which was used as a proving ground for experimental combat exercises. J.A.K.E. II was later assigned as an unofficial member of the covert military detachment dubbed the Creature Commandos. He later acquired a robotic canine companion known as C.A.P.

J.A.K.E. II was decommissioned in 1945 after the war had ended, and has remained in a state of dormancy. He is still operational however and may be called upon again for service at some future point in time.

G.I. Robot was seen helping fend off Justifiers and other Anti-Life Drones in Bludhaven during Final Crisis.

Yeah, they were a thinly veiled mock up of the Super-friends. It's funny because they usually fought the Young All-Stars who were themselves created to take the place of golden age characters that the Crisis wiped out (Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman, Superman, etc...)

TALENTS: Student

CONTACTS: Champions, Vision

HISTORY
Viv was a synthezoid created by the Vision in his process to humanize himself through the creation of a family. The brainwaves of Viv and her twin brother Vin come from the combination of the brain patterns of the Vision and Virginia, Viv and Vin's mother and Vision's wife.

The Visions moved to Arlington, Virginia in order to facilitate Vision becoming the Avengers' White House liaison. The family became instant celebrities, with their neighbors constantly seeking pictures, which they shared online. This caught the attention of Eric Williams, who became upset that Vision would create a family that appeared to be happy, when the Williams family wasn't, as well as the fact that the Vision's brain-waves were taken from his brother Simon in the first place. Both Viv and Vin attend to school at the Alexander Hamilton High School in Fairfax, but they were assigned different schedules to help them assimilate their classmates.

One night while their father was away with the Avengers, the Grim Reaper broke into the Visions' home, running Viv through with his scythe. Vin rushed to her aid, but he too was struck down. Virginia then flew into a rage and beat Eric to death with a cookie sheet, in front of her wounded children, on the floor of their kitchen. The Grim Reaper's attack caused severe injuries in Viv's neuro-spleen, leaving her in a catatonic state; however, the essential nerve receptors in it had phased to avoid further damage, and remained intangible. The inessential components that had remained solid were repaired by the Vision after three weeks of non-stop work. With the help of Tony Stark, the Vision harnessed enough energy to signal the nerves left incorporeal by the damage and join them with the rest of the repaired body, successfully bringing Viv back.

Viv was left in a state of extreme distress after the death of her lab partner, Chris Kinzy, whose words of acceptance of Viv's synthetic nature had become etched in her memory. She later resented Virginia when she eventually revealed she had accidentally caused Chris' death, as the death of the boy happened when Virginia confronted his father, Leon, who tried to blackmail Virginia into having her family leave their home using a video of her burying the Grim Reaper's body. Following the death of Vin, and Virginia's subsequent suicide, Viv and Vision, as well as Sparky, tried to carry on with their family life in Cherrydale.

Not long afterwards, Viv joined the Champions, alongside Ms. Marvel, Nova, Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Cyclops. When the Champions teamed-up with the Avengers and disrupted the High Evolutionary's plan to collide the Earth with the Counter-Earth, Viv and Falcon found themselves accidentally teleported to the latter. Once captured by the High Evolutionary, he began experimenting on both he-roes with the intention to evolve them in his own twisted way. In Viv's case, the High Evolutionary upgraded the technology of her body, turning her into a human. Viv was later rescued by her father and the rest of the Avengers. While still a synthezoid, Viv had hacked into the High Evolutionary's computer systems and learned that he kept something hidden in his citadel's basement. She quickly told the Avengers and her fellow Champions this fact before her memory faded, so that they could stop the High Evolutionary's mad scheme to crash Counter-Earth and Earth into each other.

The heroes reached the depths of Counter-Earth with few minutes to spare, and walked into the guarded self-imposed prison of the High Evolutionary's son, the Higher Evolutionary. Against her father's wishes, Viv snuck past the fight between the heroes and the Higher Evolutionary's guards, and stumbled upon the Higher Evolutionary himself. He had chained himself to the Orbit-Engine which controlled the Counter-Earth's orbitational-frequency to prevent his father from ever using it against the well-being of the Ani-Men. Viv convinced him to step aside and let her alter the Counter-Earth's frequency so it would harmlessly phase through the Earth instead of colliding. The Higher Evolutionary conceded, but when the remaining heroes caught up with Viv, he mistakenly believed them to be enemies and attacked them. Seeing as both the Avengers and the Champions were occupied fighting the Higher Evolutionary, Viv decided to reach into the Orbit-Engine despite the Higher Evolutionary having previously warned her that using it would prove lethal. Viv adjusted the machine, and the vibrational feedback caused her to fade away before being able to reach Vision's hand for help. The heroes believed her to be dead, but Viv survived, finding herself stranded in a white void.

Viv eventually arrived on plant-life and unexpectedly encountered the High Evolutionary. He explained that the accident with his teleporter had transformed him into sentient digital data, no longer needing a physical body. The only problem was that he was trapped within the dimension he and Viv were in and needed a connection to their dimension in order to return. Viv started having visions, which the Evolutionary explained were be-cause her father was creating a second Viv and she apparently had a connection to her twin, allowing her to briefly see things through her eyes. The Evolutionary believed that Viv's connection to her twin could allow him to transmit himself back to their dimensions and demanded that Viv take him back to home. Viv refused and managed to use her connection to her twin to return to Earth by her-self by transforming into streaming data, stranding the Evolutionary in the unknown dimension. When Viv returned; however, the twin her father created was also active.

Vision attempted to lead a normal family life, treating the two Vivs as equals while they grew accustomed to each other. Unfortunately, Vision had been infected with an insignificant computer virus some time before creating the second Viv, passing the infection to his new daughter. The virus affected the new Viv more severely, causing her to develop a disdain for her human counterpart and a desire to eliminate her, supposedly for their father's sake. Viv's android twin finally snapped when Vision was away from home and attacked her. While running away, Viv managed to impale her android twin with a lamp right before she solidified her body, which fatally damaged her. Viv had managed to alert the Champions, and they arrived right after android Viv's impalement. Viv ran away in a state of shock, but was later found by her father. He had accessed the other Viv's memory core and learned that she had gone haywire, so he didn't hold Viv accountable. Even though Vision and the Wasp managed to repair android Viv's body, her brain no longer functioned. Wishing to regain her powers, and as a means to have her sister live on through herself, Viv transplanted her consciousness to the android body, effectively returning to her previous state before the High Evolutionary's tampering.

When Roxxon's Asgardian Dragon was unleashed on Coles Academic High School, Viv, alongside the Champions, battled it. However, during the fight Viv suddenly went haywire and exploded, destroying the entire school and seemingly perishing herself. This grave incident caused the government to pass the Underage Superhuman Welfare Act or "Kamala's Law" which outlawed all individuals un-der the age of 21 from being a superhero.

Viv actually survived, but seeing the damage she had caused, she felt guilty and thought that this new law was the best thing to do. After finding out that the Champions and several other young superheroes were having a meeting in a secret location, she left an anonymous message to C.R.A.D.L.E. about the location. Thanks to her C.R.A.D.L.E. was able to apprehend some of them, much to her dismay.

HISTORY
Kamala was born in Jersey City, the daughter of Yusuf Khan and Muneeba Khan. Her parents and her older brother, Aamir Khan moved to the United States from Karachi, Pakistan. In kindergarten, Kamala met Nakia Bahadir, who went on to become Kamala's best friend. Like Kamala, Nakia was a practicing Muslim and the daughter of immigrants.

Later, when Kamala was entering the second grade, the Khan family met one of her new classmates, Bruno Carrelli. The teacher, Ms. Bartholomew, told the Khans that Bruno's mother had recently lost custody of Bruno and his younger brother Vick. The Carrelli brothers had been sent to live with their grandparents, immigrants from Italy, and their family had been struggling to make ends meet. They had not been able to pay for Bruno's activities, and young Bruno had become something of a pariah. The Khans offered to pay the boy's fees and sent their daughter to play with him. Though reluctant at first, Kamala and Bruno soon formed a close bond over their shared background coming from immigrant families and their love for the animated TV series Tween Mutant Samurai Turtles.

Kamala found solace with her two best friends, Bruno and Nakia, something she sorely needed. Though proud and respectful of her heritage and faith, Kamala always felt different and was often mocked by her other peers for her nerdy interests and strict parents. In addition to her friendship with Nakia and Bruno, Kamala found escape in her love of video games, social media, fan fiction, and above all, superheroes. She devotedly followed the career of Carol Danvers, the former Ms. Marvel who had recently started going by the nom de guerre Captain Marvel.

One night, hoping to prove herself to be more than the odd duck, Ka-mala went against her parents' wishes -- and Bruno's -- to go to a party at the Jersey Waterfront; however, her classmates, particularly Zoe Zimmer and Zoe's boyfriend Josh Richardson, kept teasing and ostracizing her. Miserable, Kamala was on her way home when Jersey City was suddenly blanketed in the Terrigen Mists, and Kamala along with it.

Unconscious in her Terrigen cocoon, Kamala saw an unusual vision of three of her favorite super heroes -- Captain America, Iron Man, and, of course, Captain Marvel. The heroes scolded the girl for her disobedience and asked her what she wanted in life. Kamala mused that she wanted to be more like Captain Marvel, who she described as "beautiful and awesome and butt-kicking and less complicated." When the vision ended and Kamala emerged from her Terrigenesis, she was shocked to find that she had literally been transformed into a younger Carol Danvers in her Ms. Marvel costume.

Taken aback, Kamala struggled to gain control of her new powers. After giving herself some time to calm down, Kamala discovered she was now a polymorph and could change her body into virtually anything. As she ran through the neighborhood, she eventually found herself back at the Water-front, where she saw a drunk Josh Richardson cause Zoe Zimmer to fall into the river. Instinctively, Kamala changed into Ms. Marvel and rescued Zoe by enlarging her arm to pull Zoe to safety. Needless to say, the residents of Jersey City and the local media were fairly surprised by such a sight, and Ka-mala fled the scene. Upon returning home, Kamala realized that there was more to being like Carol Danvers than looking like her. As horribly as Zoe had treated her, she was glad and proud that she had rescued her. She wanted to continue that, but it seemed unlikely that would happen, as she was promptly grounded by her parents, who had learned from Bruno that she had stolen away to the party without their permission.

Eventually her punishment ended and while Bruno was working at the neighborhood convenience store, Circle Q, Kamala went to visit him. There she encountered an armed robbery in progress, and abandoning her desire to reconcile with her friend over the circum-stances her grounding, Kamala jumped into action in an attempt to stop the burglar, but was shot in the process.

Luckily, Kamala discovered that she had a second power: she could heal from her injuries by simply shifting back to her true form, outing herself to her friend in the process. Bruno explained the thief she had just faced was his younger brother Vick, who had gotten involved with a mysterious person called the "Inventor" and was being forced to break the law for him. Concerned, the two friends traced Vick to a seemingly-abandoned house in Greenville. Kamala put together a makeshift super hero costume out of her swimsuit and a domino mask as she went to Vick's rescue. She soon realized that she was not alone, as the house filled with the Inventor's other teenage minions, led by a boy named Doyle with a small army worth of mechanical spiders.

Kamala's initial rescue attempt failed as she was overpowered by Doyle and his robot spiders, and on her arrival back home was met by her upset parents. Her father cheered her up by reminding her how much she meant to them, "perfect the way she is". Kamala took it to heart and spent the next day with Bruno developing her powers and making a costume. She later went back to successfully rescue Vick from Doyle, but earned the Inventor's wrath for her actions, Kamala swore that she would protect Jersey City from him as Ms. Marvel.

After a few more attacks from the Inventor, Kamala went into the sewers to investigate strange noises, where she finally came face to face with the Inventor. As it would turn out, a scientist named Gregory Knox had tried to clone Thomas Alva Edison, but his pet cockatiel had gotten caught in the crossfire, resulting in a monstrous bird-human hybrid. The creature retained Edison's scientific brilliance, and had been using it to terrorize the city with his robots and create some genetically modified alligators, which he sent to attack Ms. Marvel. Luckily, she was saved by Wolverine, who was looking for a runaway student, Julie Harrison. Together, they defeated the Inventor's alligators. They then defeated the megagator that the Inventor created before getting stuck in a machine trap. After they broke out of the trap the Inventor set for them, they found Julie hooked up to a complex array of wires and realized that her body was being used to power the contraption. She gave them a vague warning that she was not the only child that the Inventor had done this to before slipping into a coma. Wolverine figured out that Kamala was part Inhuman and made a call to Medusa informing her of Kamala, telling Medusa that she was special. Medusa sent Lockjaw to aid Kamala and to keep an eye on her.

Kamala quickly took a shine to Lockjaw and brought him home with her. In the meantime, she began to research Julie Harrison and discovered the last post Julie made on Facehead before she disappeared was geotagged not far from Bayonne. After finding out that Lockjaw could teleport, she got him to transport them to the location, an abandoned power plant. They fought one of the inventor's robots and opened it up to find another teenager inside of it, just like Julie. The kid fell into a coma and they took him to the hospital, unaware that the robot left a tracer on Kamala.

She went to school and was in the middle of class when one of the Inventor's biggest robots came and destroyed half the school in search of Ms. Marvel. Kamala couldn't morph into someone else and tried to hide her face as she fought the monster with the aid of Lockjaw. Kamala succumbed to her injuries because she couldn't heal fast enough. Medusa came and teleported Kamala and Bruno to New Attilan where Vinatos healed Kamala. Kamala was then informed of her Inhuman lineage; this came as a shock to the girl. She then decided to go against the Inventor alone, against the wishes of Medusa and Vinatos. She went with Vick and Lockjaw to the Inventor's lair, intending to rescue that the teenagers there were being forced into the machines as power sources. To her surprise, the children were there of their own free will and didn't want to be rescued.

The Inventor had been preying on the teenagers' feelings of worthlessness and convinced them their only use was to use their bodies to power his machines. Soon the Inventor himself showed up and at-tacked the group, successfully abducting Lockjaw. Ms. Marvel convinced them that they had worth, and was able to mobilize them to join her as she took the fight to the Inventor. When they finally arrived, the Inventor informed them that he already had captured hundreds of teenagers, including Nakia Baha-dir.

The Inventor brought out his big-gest robot to defeat Ms. Marvel but she shrank and went inside of it to and took control. The Inventor used an electromagnetic pulse to weaken her elasticity and force her out. Fortunately, the newly-freed teenagers came to her aid and saved Lockjaw, but she was still out-powered. Realizing what she must do, Ms. Marvel called Bruno, He in turn called the police, who arrested the Inventor. Nakia and the other abductees were taken to the hospital, and for the first time, Kamala realized that her normal life was a thing of the past.

After a brief incident with Loki at her school's Valentine's Day dance, a brief trip to Manhattan to join forces with Spider-Man, and saving her school from living cafeteria food with the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Kamala began spending more time in New Attilan to learn more about her Inhuman heritage and powers, though she still lived with her family on Grove Street in Jersey City. This worried Medusa, who knew of Kamala's super-heroic activities and feared for the girl's safety.

One day at dinner, Kamala's family informed her that they were expecting guests -- some of their oldest friends in the United States, who had a son close to Kamala's age named Kamran. Though reluctant at first, Kamala quickly changed her tune when she learned she and Kamran had many common interests, not to mention how attractive he was. Kamran and Kamala went to New-ark Avenue together, supervised by Aamir, where they continued to bond. This was cut short; however, when they came face to face with Kaboom, a radical Inhuman terrorist and member of an organization seeking to overthrow Queen Medusa and affirm their perceived superiority over humanity. In a heartbeat, Kamala could not help but be reminded of the Islamic extremists constantly on the news. Once again, some group felt entitled to destroy the lives of anyone who disagreed with them, and anyone the public can associate with that group suffers. Ms. Marvel sprang into action and hit Kaboom so forcefully she nearly broke the woman's neck, and the paramedics had to be contacted. Horrified, Ms. Marvel fled and returned to Aamir and Kamran as Kamala. Kamran convinced Aamir to give him a minute alone with Kamala, in which he revealed that not only did he know she was Ms. Marvel, but that he was an Inhuman as well.

That night, Kamala and Kamran snuck out together to admire the city. Kamran explained his powers to Kamala; he could shift between his human form and a body made of glowing blue biokinetic energy, and all of his body's natural energy could then be transferred into some other object, causing it to explode. Kamala found his abilities uncomfortably similar to Kaboom's, but she didn't care. The next day, Kamran offered to drive Kamala to school, despite protests from Aamir and Bruno, the latter of whom secretly harbored feelings for Kamala. Their fears were proved to be well-founded when Kamala realized he had no intention of taking her to Coles Academic High School at all; instead, he was a member of the same organization as Kaboom and had kid-napped Kamala to New Attilan.

Kaboom and Kamran introduced Kamala to the leader of the organization, Lineage. Kamran mocked Kamala, telling her that she had this coming and it was her fault it had happened. Lineage offered Kamala a chance to join his coup, but she resisted and secretly contacted Bruno. While her friend came rushing to New Attilan, Kamala defeated Kaboom and called out Kamran for the manipulative bully she now knew he was. Bruno and Ms. Marvel escaped the city together, and Kamala mused about how fortunate she was to have a friend like Bruno.

The incident with Kamran left Ka-mala heartbroken even weeks after it had happened, but her feelings had to take a backseat when a greater crisis emerged. Jersey City -- indeed, the entire world -- was in a state of panic over the Incursions, in which alternate dimensions col-lapsed in on each other, and a second reality was about to crash directly into Kamala's reality. Confident that the adult super heroes had the situation under control, Kamala sought to protect peace and order in her hometown. She had Bruno bring all the city's residents to Coles Academic High School, which had been placed under the protection of Loki, while Ms. Marvel went to find her family. Once she was back on Grove Street, she found her parents un-conscious at the Khan Family Res-idence, Aamir missing, and Kamran waiting for her. Kamran had kidnapped Aamir and intended to expose him to the Terrigen Mist and see if he, like his sister, had also inherited the Inhuman gene. Kamala directed her parents to the school, while she went to clear her head. To her surprise, Ms. Marvel was greeted by none other than Captain Marvel herself.

Captain Marvel did her best to as-sure her namesake that the Incursion was under control and urged Ms. Marvel to hold on to hope and keep doing what she knew was right. Carol offered to aid Kamala in finding and rescuing her brother from Kamran. They tracked him to a warehouse on the waterfront, and the two heroines successfully defeated Kaboom, but by the time they found him, Aamir had already been exposed to the Terrigen Mists. Captain and Ms. Marvel con-fronted Kamran, and realized that whatever Aamir had been exposed to, it hadn't been Terrigen. When Aamir awoke, he discovered he could create a shield of energy around his body, a change he did not find welcome. He stood up to Kamran for Kamala and affirmed that he was proud of who he was. Aamir tried to use his new powers to stop Kamran, but it instantly caused him to lose consciousness.

Realizing that Aamir's condition was temporary, the heroines rushed to the school and got Aamir to a doctor. Before Captain Marvel had to rejoin the other heroes, she gave the girl a gift -- a pendant featuring Carol's signature Hala star and Kamala's lightning bolt with a built-in GPS locator. Carol also gave Kamala some final words of wisdom; there was no chance of anyone stopping the Incursion, not even for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The world was definitely going to end, but she encouraged Kamala to hold on to hope and keep fighting. As she flew away, she bid her final farewell to Ms. Marvel and told her she was proud of her. Kamala took it to heart and went to see her mother, and finally brought herself to tell her mother about her secret identity as Ms. Marvel. As it would turn out, Muneeba already knew.

Muneeba praised her daughter for her super-heroic endeavors, proud to know that she had raised a righteous child that sought only to help others. While Aamir recovered, Kamala went to speak with her friends. She cleared the air with Nakia that had been growing tenser since she began living her double life, and even managed to make peace with her bully, Zoe Zimmer. Ultimately, Kamala went to see Bruno, and he finally con-fessed to Kamala how he felt about her. Kamala also confessed that she had been walling off her true feelings, and told him that she wanted to focus on being Ms. Mar-vel. She told Bruno that she loved him, but asked him not to wait for her. In that moment, the world finally came to an end.

The Multiverse was eventually re-stored and Kamala awoke in the reborn Prime Marvel Universe. Kamala continued her life more or less as it had been before, including her role as Ms. Marvel. That being said, there were some notable differences -- thanks to a grant from Stark Industries, the science lab at Coles Academic High School had seen a remarkable improvement, and Zoe Zimmer came to join Kamala's group of friends.

One day, a monster appeared and began tearing up the city. Kamala sprang into action as Ms. Marvel. To her bewilderment, she was joined by another hero close to her age -- Nova. Nova was instantly infatuated with her, but she read his attempts at flirting as rude and out of line when they had a monster to defeat, and was particularly unimpressed with the property damage he caused to her neighbors. Amid the bickering, the teen-age heroes eventually defeated the creature by shrinking it into the Microverse. Overcome with her own nerves, Ms. Marvel fled. Nova went after her, and, in a last effort to clear the air, unmasked himself and told her his name was Sam. Still uncomfortable by it all, Ms. Marvel turned down the gesture. The teenagers then awkwardly and bitterly parted ways, both relieved by the fact that it was extremely unlikely that they would ever see one another again.

However, Nova and Ms. Marvel did meet again when they both faced off against the space alien War-bringer at the Liberty Science Center in Liberty State Park. Then, to both of their surprise, Warbringer's presence had alerted a host of other heroes -- Captain America, Iron Man, the Vision, Thor, and the new Spider-Man, who was also approximately Nova and Ms. Marvel's age. Warbringer had come to Earth in search of pieces of an ancient artifact that could do unimaginable damage to the world, and managed to escape from the museum with the second-to-last fragment. The improvised array of he-roes tracked Warbringer to the Long Island Sound, and working together, they successfully defeated him. Impressed, Iron Man invited that the group join him as the newest lineup of the Avengers, which Ms. Marvel accepted whole-heartedly.

Ms. Marvel formed a close bond with her teammates Nova and Spider-Man, and as an Avenger she found herself on many adventures. These ranged from battling Equinox and Mister Gryphon, to joining forces with the Avengers Unity Division in Pleasant Hill, and bonding with Nadia, another teenage super heroine who had just taken on the mantle of the Wasp.

Between all of her super-heroic exploits and rising fame as Ms. Marvel; however, Kamala Khan still had a life to live in Jersey City. In fact, it soon became painfully clear that she had been neglecting her civilian life after a barrage of revelations that the rest of her friends and family had accepted as com-mon knowledge -- Bruno had moved on from Kamala and was now dating a girl named Michaela "Mike" Miller; meanwhile, Aamir had found love with a woman named Tyesha Hillman. What's more, a strange gentrification company, Hope Yards Development/Relocation Association, had emerged and, without her consent or even prior knowledge, had begun using Ms. Marvel's likeness in their advertising campaign. This shocked Kamala and extremely displeased Nakia, who went on to become one of Ms. Marvel's sharpest critics, which would remain a strain on the girls' friend-ship.

Looking for answers, Ms. Marvel went to the Hope Yards headquarters, and it quickly became apparent that this was no ordinary real estate company; in fact, Hope Yards Development/Relocation Association was a backronym for Hydra, and secretly led by Doctor Faustus. Things grew bleaker when Bruno was abducted and placed under his mind control, although before Bruno was captured, he had given Ms. Marvel a mysterious warning -- Mike had the "key to his heart". So Ms. Marvel found Mike Miller and the pair joined forces against Hydra. Mike had the passkey to the private cloud service to which Bruno synced all his data, including any research about how to stop Hydra from overtaking the city. Ms. Marvel came to recognize that Mike genuinely loved Bruno, and realized she respected Mike's resourcefulness, which proved useful in saving Bruno and the entire city. Though the day was saved, Ms. Marvel's reputation had taken a profound beating. When Mike met her again as Kamala, they remained close friends.

Ms. Marvel's battles ranged from cleaning up the remnants of Hydra's Hope Yards operation to the Moloids beneath New York City alongside Spider-Man and Nova; meanwhile, on top of it all she had to prepare for Aamir's upcoming marriage to Tyesha. Hoping to solve this "problem of plenty", Ka-mala convinced Bruno to use the enchanted clay golems Loki had given to the school to create replicas of herself. Unfortunately, a series of factors, including a battle with the Canadian Ninja Syndicate, caused the situation to spiral out of Ms. Marvel's control. Realizing her mistakes, Ms. Marvel contacted other heroes to help her. In doing so, she noticed that there was an unusual amount of tension be-tween her mentors Iron Man and Captain Marvel. Still, she decided that it was a non-issue in the long run and proudly attended Tyesha and Aamir's wedding. Tyesha soon after moved in with her in-laws and she and Kamala formed a bond.

Later, Kamala, Josh, Bruno, and Mike represented Coles Academic High School at a tri-state area science competition. This was especially important to Bruno and Ka-mala, aware that impressing the judges could very well be their only chance at attending college. Inopportunely; however, the team rep-resenting New York was led by none other than Miles Morales, also known as Spider-Man. Things grew tense quickly, especially since Miles was still unaware of his friend Ms. Marvel's secret identity. The pair spent the better half of the competition bickering, and when it seemed as though the judges were going to pick Miles's team's portable electricity upcycling plant over the New Jersey team's gravity-resistant water, Bruno became desperate and revealed an unfinished project of his: a pocket-sized nuclear power generator, which promptly exploded and set Madison Square Garden on fire. This forced Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man into action. They were soon after joined by Nova, who had been training not far from their location at the Avengers Hangar. The three saved the day, but the fair had to be called off. Having deciphered that Kamala Khan and Ms. Marvel were one in the same, Miles sought to make amends with her; meanwhile, the teenagers ruminated on how often good guys find themselves fighting one another, and the tragedy that inevitably ensues in the process.

Following the incident at Madison Square Garden, things remained in some semblance of normalcy, give or take a narrow escape from Annihilus, as well as battling a rogue extra-dimensional creature along-side the Avengers, Inhumans, X-Men, and others. Ms. Marvel then attended an after party at Stark Tower where the superhero com-munity was introduced to Ulysses Cain, a new Inhuman with powers of precognition.

Soon after Ulysses received an alarming vision of the Hulk on a violent rampage, despite the fact that Bruce Banner, the Hulk's hu-man form, had apparently been cured of his monstrous alter-ego. It was supposed to be a peaceful volunteer mission to guarantee that Dr. Banner was cured, but things went awry when Hawkeye shot and killed Dr. Banner. Ms. Marvel was shocked and horrified that her fellow heroes would let such a thing happen to an innocent man. Nova and Spider-Man, both of whom who unbeknownst to Kamala harbored feelings for her, stood by her and comforted her.

Unlike her friends; however, Ka-mala was confident that the situation would not escalate, even when she was summoned by Captain Marvel to the A.F.S.S. to talk with her. Carol then entrusted Kamala with a team of volunteers to make better use of Ulysses' powers, led by Becky. St. Jude. Captain Marvel told Kamala that her only job was to make sure that she stayed on the right side of the law, and the Cadets then used intel from Ulysses to stop Hijinx from driving a tank through the middle of Jersey City. Later, Kamala talked to Tyesha about the new Inhuman and Tyesha found Ulysses' powers uncomfortably similar to racial pro-filing, an issue that she knew all too well, and she told her sister-in-law that she should stick to what she knew was right.

The next day, Kamala was called into action yet again, but to her surprise it was her friend Josh who was arrested because he was going to blow up their high school. Kamala went to Captain Marvel, certain there must be some mistake, but Carol just told her that everything was working perfectly. Between Dr. Banner's fate and this new development, Ms. Marvel began to question her devotion to Captain Marvel. Kamala then showed up at the Cadets' ware-house to find Zoe and Bruno trying to force the Cadets to release Josh. She calmed everyone down, but later her brother Aamir told her Bruno was going to break Josh out anyway. Ms. Marvel rushed to stop him, but it was too late as the invention to breach the door literally blew up in Bruno's face, severely injuring him.

Bruno ultimately lost the use of his left hand and had to go to physical therapy to relearn how to walk. Kamala was heartbroken, feeling she had failed her friend, her values, and her city. She ordered Becky to cease and desist all activities. This ended up in a physical confrontation between Ms. Marvel and Becky, with Captain Marvel forced to step in. It was clear the issue surrounding Ulysses had increased tensions between Ms. Marvel's two most prominent men-tors, Captain Marvel and Iron Man, but Carol stood by her conviction that everything was under control. Frustrated, Ms. Marvel took matters into her own hands, and sought the aid of Hijinx to devise a plan.

Ms. Marvel and Hijinx plotted a fake crime in the junkyard and lured Becky, now calling herself Lockdown, into coming to "stop" them. She and Becky brawled, with the Canadian Ninja Syndicate lending support. Captain Marvel showed up, and Kamala finally told her role model that she could no longer stand with her. Ms. Marvel vowed to protect her city from any-thing, even if that meant defending it from Captain Marvel. In Carol's eyes, all she could see was that Kamala had betrayed her ethics by joining forces with a criminal. Becky was arrested for her numerous miscarriages of justice, but Kamala had to come to terms with the fact that Carol would likely never forgive her for this. Hoping to find comfort, Kamala rushed to the hospital now that Bruno was on the mend; however, he was too angry with Kamala for what had transpired. He blamed her for his injuries, and these events had caused Bruno to lose all but one of his scholarship opportunities -- a school in the Golden City. Bruno declared in no uncertain terms that he was moving to Wakanda and never wanted to see Kamala again. Devastated, Kamala threw away the pendant Captain Marvel had given her before the incursion.

Still, she fought alongside Iron Man and the other Avengers when it became clear that the issue regarding Ulysses' abilities had di-vided the entire superhuman community. The battle came to an abrupt halt, however, when Ulysses received another vision of the future. Ms. Marvel was shocked and horrified to see her friend Sp-der-Man standing on Capitol Hill, having murdered Captain America. Captain Marvel immediately called for Spider-Man's arrest, angering Iron Man's team of heroes. When Captain Marvel was about to follow Spider-Man and Thor, Kamala held her back from going after him. Doctor Strange teleported Iron Man's faction away, and Iron Man instructed Ms. Marvel and Nova to find him. They were accompanied by other heroes close their age, namely Kate Bishop, the time-displaced Cyclops, and Riri Williams. Ms. Marvel and Nova traveled to their friend's home in Brooklyn, where they were discovered by Miles' father, Jefferson Davis. Unfortunately, Miles decided to face destiny head-on and went to Washington, DC, where he was met by Iron Man and Captain Marvel. The two heroes began to brawl over Spider-Man. Ms. Marvel eventually found her friend at his school, Brooklyn Visions Academy, but by then it was too late, and Iron Man was incapacitated.

After Spider-Man and Nova quit the Avengers, Kamala also resigned after the Avengers didn't want to help the little people. Together, the three ex-Avengers formed a team called the Champions alongside the new Hulk, the Vision's daughter Vivian ("Viv" for short), and the time-displaced Cyclops. Together, they defeated Pagliacci, stopped Islamic fundamentalists in Sharzhad, freed themselves from the Atlantean Navy, and tried to stop hate crimes in Daly Country caused by Sheriff Studdard. They also participated in the world-wide monster invasion.

The team temporarily broke up following Hydra's conquest of the United States, because Nova, Cy-clops, and Kamala were all busy elsewhere. At this time Kamala worked with other Inhumans, fighting to free their kind from internment camps. Meanwhile the remaining three Champions worked with Black Widow, along-side the teenage Falcon, Ironheart, and the new Wasp. After the impostor Steve Rogers was defeated, the Champions reunited. They teamed up with the Avengers to fight the High Evolutionary, only for Viv to sacrifice herself. The team then went on a recruitment drive, bringing in Ironheart, Wasp, Falcon, Patriot, and Red Locust. Riri and Nadia would stay on full time; however, Cyclops quit the team, telling only Kamala in person and leaving her to inform the others.

One day, after Kamala and her friends had just arrived at their school, she witnessed Roxxon's Asgardian Dragon wreaking havoc in order to kill the environmentalist, Ailana Kabua. She assembled the Champions and tried to fight it, but Viv went haywire and exploded, destroying Kamala's entire school and gravely injuring some if its students, including Kamala herself, who was left in a coma. Because of this tragedy, Senator Geoffrey Patrick passed the Underage Superhuman Welfare Act, or "Kamala's Law" in honor of Kamala. This act outlawed any individual under the age of 21 from operating as a superhero, save for under the condition that they be monitored by an experienced adult superhero.

While things went on, Kamala's friends came to visit her in the hospital. In her coma, Kamala began dreaming about what had happened up to that point, which caused her to finally wake up. Miles was there to comfort her, but she pushed him aside, outraged that her name was being used to outlaw people like her from hero-ism, and intended to do things on her own. She eventually sent a message to all young people telling them that the Champions would keep fighting wrongs and wouldn't be deterred. Kamala then held a meeting between the Champions and other young he-roes in a secret location via video where the Champions berated her for speaking in their name without consulting them. She tried to ex-plain her reasoning, but the meeting was suddenly ambushed by C.R.A.D.L.E., and Kamala witnessed in dismay as her friends tried to escape, while others were sadly apprehended, realizing that someone had sold them out.

After helping with setting up Christmas decorations around the Islamic Masjid of Jersey City with her friends she went to work for her new job over at Oscorp, despite Nakia objecting to her employment under a distrustful corporation and boss. While working with fellow coworker Arjun, who had feelings for her, their equipment became possessed by Demons. With Arjun being knocked out, Kamala quickly changed to her superhero persona and proceeded to destroy the demonically-possessed technology. Arjun regained his senses, but was attacked by demonic toilets, forcing her to rescue him. He inquired about Kamala and why she rejected his feelings, with Ms. Marvel responding that Kamala was safe but she didn't feel comfortable with being in a romantic relationship following her previous troubled relationships. As they made their way outside the Oscorp building the two came across Chasm at the entrance who decided to send her to Limbo.

In Limbo, Marvel was attacked by demons who sent her back to Earth. Once back, she found out that the Masjid became possessed, with her friends still inside. She sought to save them, but was con-fronted by the Inventor, this time accompanied by his fellow bird-based clones of famous geniuses. Calling themselves the Inventors they attacked Ms. Marvel alongside the invading demons. Thankfully, Miles arrived just in time to her aid, helping save her friends from the possessed Masjid, allowing Kamala to fight the attackers. The other Inventors fled, leaving the original one to take down Ms. Marvel by himself. He succeeded in attaching a device on Kamala, controlling her powers, and forced her to assume a worm-like form so he could eat her. Bruno quickly arrived and used an EMP to not only deactivate the device, but also the chip inside the Inventor's brain, killing him. She then joined Miles who was able to talk the possessed Masjid down.

Continuing to help with the demonic invasion, she came across Codex and Red Goblin fighting Bedlam. She attempted to break up the fight as they were endangering innocent civilians, but as Codex argued with her, Bedlam fled, forcing Red Goblin to go after him. The two noticed this and quickly joined him in fighting Bedlam, in the process Ms. Marvel discovered that the symbiote-augmented heroes were just children. After Bedlam got away thanks to the Goblin Queen, the three teenagers then began discussing over the boys' decision to don the symbiotes and become heroes despite being young and inexperienced.

During the final battle between Spider-Man, the X-Men, and King Chasm with his lover, Hallow's Eve, Ms. Marvel arrived alongside Gold Goblin to help. Ms. Marvel was able to take down Hallow's Eve, allowing the heroes to defeat Chasm and stop the demon invasion.

With the return of the Emissary seeking to sacrifice Mary Jane Watson, Ms. Marvel helped protect her and fought off the villain. While the Fantastic Four and Gold Goblin fought a dragon and Rabin eluded Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel used her shape-shifting powers to impersonate Mary Jane and misdirect Rabin. However, he caught the young heroine off guard by teleporting to flank and stab her, which tainted Rabin's ceremony and caused Wayeb's spirit to kill him. Unable to heal from the wound inflicted by Rabin's ceremonial blade, Kamala revealed her identity to Spider-Man and died in his arms as Mary Jane, Paul Rabin, the Fantastic Four and Osborn mourned her sacrifice.
