Zooey Deschanel's blunt brunette bangs are arguably as famous as the actor herself, so much so that Zooey Deschanel's Bangs is the name of my bar trivia team and literally no one thought that was weird. (As far as bar trivia team names are concerned, it's actually a fairly tame one.) So let me tell you, when the actor does anything—anything—to her hair, fans are going to notice. Most of the time.
See, on Tuesday, May 30, the New Girl actor shared a photo of a buxom blonde woman on Instagram, and it took me, at least, a full 30 seconds to realize that the lady on the other side of the mirror selfie was Deschanel herself in a bouncy blonde wig. If you had told me that the answer to her (rhetorical) caption “Who's she?” was Christina Applegate, I would've believed you, and I would've been wrong.

Wrote one equally bewildered fan in the comments, “Everyday she proves why people would’ve not recognised Clark Kent was Superman.” Mmm fair.
Wearing an electric blue leotard and some kind of elastic-waistband bottoms, Deschanel appears to be in a hair and makeup trailer in the two Instagram photos. The look could be for her guest appearance on Physical, the TV show about the world of '80s aerobics starring Rose Byrne, or this could just be a thing she does on Tuesdays. Hollywood, man!
It's a safe bet that the 43-year-old's blonde blowout is a wig, in which case my trivia team can rest easy. Zooey Deschanel's Bangs will live to see another day.
