Eva Mendes is stepping back into the acting world — but not with the role folks might have imagined for her.

After box office hits like Hitch and Ghost Rider, the actress stepped away from the cameras to pursue other ventures, including becoming an entrepreneur and starting a family. Now, almost a decade later, Eva is returning to her acting roots with a fun comedy sketch called Chopped Liver, created by her friend Shannon Plumb.

While it’s different work than fans have previously seen her in, she revealed that she could easily relate to one of the storylines. “Channeling my days as a waitress with my favorite beautiful clown @shannonplumb,” she captioned an Instagram video posted on August 9. “I remember these creepo customers! Sometimes, if you cant beat them, join them.”

In the nearly minute-long preview of the episode she starred in, Eva portrays a waitress overwhelmed by demanding customers. From launching utensils across the restaurant to taking a detailed food order, the 2 Fast 2 Furious star doesn’t miss a punch line.

Unsurprisingly, fans were instantly supportive of Eva's involvement in this project. Apart from her hilarious scenes, followers also couldn’t get over her look, which featured a beehive hairstyle and blue eyeshadow.

“Love love the hair 👏👏👏,” one person wrote in her Instagram comments section. “This is hilarious. you two are fantastic,” another added. “Watching you act is everything ❤️🥰,” a different fan said.

Speaking on The View back in May, Eva revealed to Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin that she hoped to return to acting if ever "a special project” surfaced. But she also shared that she has become more selective because of her children. Eva and her husband, fellow actor Ryan Gosling, share daughters, Esmeralda, 7, and Amada, 6.

"I have such a short list of what I will do,” she said on the show. “Before kids I was kind of up for anything, if it was a fun project. But now I won't do violence. I don't want to do sexuality. The list is short."

But in the meantime, Eva isn’t afraid to show a more comedic side of herself.
