Tips On Growing Heuchera (Coral Bells)

Heuchera  (Coral Bells) is a genus of North American native perennials known for their attractive foliage and showy flower sprays.

Preferred growing conditions:

• Plant in compost-enriched soils with good drainage.
• Position in partial to full shade.
• Mulch with commonly available mulch materials.
• Coral Bells like moderate soil moisture and should be watered regularly, especially when conditions are dry.
• Deadheading will prolong blooming.
• Fertilize lightly in the fall with a half and half blend of Yum Yum Mix and good quality compost.

Special comments:

• Heuchera should not be divided.
• Leave the plants standing over the winter months, and removed winter-killed foliage in mid-spring. Plants are semi-evergreen with thick succulent stems growing from the crown and should not be cut back, only trimmed.
