Art Car Parade Takes to the Virtual Streets this Weekend

The 33rd year of the beloved Houston festival has risen from the asphalt ashes, finding open land online and on TV.

Great news, Houston art- and oddities-lovers. The much beloved and previously cancelled 2020 Art Car Parade will roll this weekend after all. Online that is. Instead of scouring the streets for the perfect spot to view this year’s collection of mobile masterpieces, Houstonians will be able to revel in the whacky while celebrating our city’s creative drive by tuning into more than six hours of virtual programming.

The schedule of online programs include live tours of the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art’s three local landmarks, an airing of 2012 documentary Art Car: The Movie, and footage from the parade's 33-year history, accompanied by messages from Art Car Artists, some of who will share previously unseen pieces of automotive artwork for the first time.

Join the festivities at thehoustonartcarparade.com.
