We're LIVE on-location at The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art where we will discuss Houston's beloved tradition, the Houston Art Car Parade and Festival. It's an annual celebration of art cars that's been held for decades.

First, we speak with Tommy Pace, Executive Director of The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, who explains the history of The Orange Show as well as what Houstonians can find at the 2023 Houston Legendary Art Car Ball and the Art Car Parade.

We also speak with Pete Gershon, an art car historian, who discusses what an art car is, the history of Houston's first art car parades, and how the city embraces individuality and identity.

Also, joining the conversation is art car artist and President of the Houston Art Car Klub, Rebecca Lowe, who talks about her love for the transformed vehicles. Lowe also shares details about her own art cars, including one that will be featured at this year's parade, "Map of Space and Time".

Then, teacher, art car artist, and one of this year's Art Car Parade honorees, Anna Bass, discusses how she makes an art car each year with her high school students. Through the process of designing and building an art car, the students learn collaboration skills and the rewarding experience of having their artwork seen by the city. Their vehicle this year is titled, "Panther Dreams".
