Frogfish (or anglerfish) are characterised by having their first dorsal spine modified into a lure that they use as a fishing apparatus. Poor swimmers, they live on the benthic zone, in shallow waters, motionless. Master of camouflage, they can take the colour of anything growing around them, here a huge sponge. When a prey, attracted by the lure and unable to notice the predator, come close enough, the frogfish expand its mouth to the width of its body and catch the prey in a few milliseconds.
