Close-up of a school of Common Bluestripe Snapper Lutjanus kasmira in the late morning. In daytime, this species forms nearly stationary schools and feeds individually by night on crustaceans and fishes. The species occurs throughout most of the Indo-Pacific region in a depth range from 2-265m. Introduced 1958 from the Marquesas to the main Hawaiian Islands, Lutjanus kasmira has become very abundant.
