VD 16, V 765. - Not in BM STC and in Adams. - Third edition of De inventoribus rerum, rare. - The early culture history by the Italian humanist Polydorus Vergilius (1470-1555) was a renaissance bestseller and one of the most-mentioned books on the Index librorum prohibitorum. - With numerous depictions of professions, one of which on verso of l. 150 by Hans Schäufelein (cf. Oldenbourg L 156). - Somewhat waterstained and slightly brownd in places, front endpaper renewed. Corners slightly scuffed, front joint with small tear.
Third German edition of this history of civilisation and encyclopedia of natural history, technology and craft. With woodcut on title and 79 woodcuts in text, one of which by H. Schäufelein.
