Edward L. “Joe” Ohrenberg, 86, of Alma, MO, died Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma with Pastor Bernard Ross officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born July 6, 1936, in Alma, MO, he was the son of the late Louis Augusta Ohrenberg and Clara M. Viets Ohrenberg.  Joe was a 1954 graduate of Sweet Springs High School.  On October 27, 1957, he married Marilyn R. Kempfe who preceded him in death on December 29, 2009.  Joe lived in the Alma area most of his life and worked as a truck driver for Alma Farmers Coop for 40 years until his retirement in 1996.  Joe was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he had served on various committees, and had previously served on the Alma Volunteer Fire Department.

Joe is survived by two children, Angela Steffens (Myron) of Blackburn and Darrel Ohrenberg (Starla) of Lexington; two granddaughters, Lisa Cline (Scott) and Sara Steffens; three great-grandchildren: Gavyn, Aynslie and Eleanor; a special friend, Cathy McGuire; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; one sister, Naomi Ballew; and one nephew, Thomas Ballew.
