  • Improving Laboratory Monitoring Compliance When Utilizing Clozapine Within an Inpatient Setting

    Clozapine is used in psychiatry for the treatment of schizophrenia and requires close monitoring for potentially serious side effects. Through a collaboration of pharmacists and psychiatrist residents at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, an order set that automated the complex array of lab orders required during the use of clozapine. Laboratory monitoring compliance significantly improved after implementation, supporting the use of automated order sets when prescribing clozapine. Poster…
