📣 📣 Hey everybody ! Warm greetings. Here we are, back again (still alive), and with a bunch of great news 🙌 . However, some might have forgotten who we are, why we are here in the first place, and what our mission is. So, let's start with a quick refreshment of your memory again 🧠. 🔥 Waste heat is a big issue in Europe, especially in heavy industry. About 300 TWh of heat, equivalent to the energy used by 30 million middle European households 🏠 on a yearly basis, is wasted. It goes into the atmosphere, dissipates, and says adieu. Our mission is to revolutionize the heat storage industry, by providing a flexible, sustainable, and cost-effective heat storage solution ♻ ,that allows us to capture this heat and make it usable in a later time-step. 💡 Our unique solution combines the superb thermal characteristics of sand and graphite , to make this vision happen. So, you might rightfully ask yourself: “What did you do, to make it happen?”. Let us give you a quick recap in the following post since the beginning of May of this year 📆 ! 📰 Before jumping the following post, let's check what Anna Turns highlighted in her column at The Guardian which is mainly about the potential of waste heat capturing from industrial processes !

#DidYouKnow a heat pump system at Mars Inc.'s factory in the Netherlands harvests heat from its refrigerators to produce hot water and uses waste energy to keep its syrup warm and chocolate molten? How's that for a sweet climate solution? As countries strive to hit climate targets and industries face multiple external pressures to end their reliance on fossil fuels, the global market for industrial heat pumps is expected to nearly double over the next decade. And although the U.S. lags behind Europe in the shift to electric heating and cooling, heat pump sales continue to rise. "It is starting to pick up in industry as well,” RMI's Lacey Tan told The Washington Post. Learn more about the challenges and opportunities for decarbonizing industrial buildings. 👇 #HeatPumps #Industrial #Manufacturing #CleanEnergy #IndustrialRealEstate https://lnkd.in/dFx-_jjs

TES@home My development project initially began as a hobby, but I soon recognized the significant impact of residential thermal energy storage systems. These systems are crucial for enhancing the flexibility of the Finnish energy grid, particularly if we aim to expand wind and solar power even more. The breakthrough of home-based Thermal Energy Storage (TES) is contingent on several factors in the green transition set by the EU: 1. Redefining wood burning as not entirely carbon-neutral. A lot more wood need to be stored for long term building materials 2. Extending lower electricity taxes beyond residents at the end of district heating pipes via electric boilers. 3. Acknowledging that (SMR) small modular reactors may not be the ultimate solution for achieving carbon-free targets for heating in our homes.
