We know what #Cataracts are. But, do you know there are many different types of cataracts? One of them is: A rosette cataract is a type of traumatic cataract that is characterized by a star-shaped opacity in the lens. It is one of the most common types of traumatic cataracts, and it is typically caused by blunt-force trauma to the eye. The force of the trauma can cause the lens fibers to break apart, resulting in the formation of the star-shaped opacity. Rosette cataracts can occur in either the anterior or posterior lens capsule. Early rosette cataracts typically form in the anterior capsule, while late rosette cataracts typically form in the posterior capsule. Early rosette cataracts are often associated with a capsular tear, while late rosette cataracts are not. The symptoms of a rosette cataract are similar to those of other types of cataracts, and they include blurred vision, glare, and halos around lights. The severity of the symptoms will depend on the size and location of the opacity. If you are concerned about cataracts, contact us and consult an eye doctor. They can help you determine if you have cataracts and discuss the best treatment options for you. . . . . . . . . . rib cage, in vertebrate anatomy, basketlike skeletal structure that forms the chest, or thorax, and is made up of the ribs and their corresponding attachments to the sternum (breastbone) and the vertebral column. The rib cage surrounds the lungs and the heart, serving as an important means of bony protection for these vital organs. In total, the rib cage consists of the 12 thoracic vertebrae and the 24 ribs, in addition to the sternum. With each succeeding rib, from the first, or uppermost, the curvature of the rib cage becomes more open. The rib cage is semirigid but expansile, able to increase in size. The small joints between the ribs and the vertebrae permit a gliding motion of the ribs on the vertebrae during breathing and other activities Related Topics: rib sternum costal cartilage torso thoracic vertebra The first seven ribs in the rib cage are attached to the sternum by pliable cartilages called costal cartilages; these ribs are called true ribs. Of the remaining five ribs, which are called false, the first three have their costal cartilages connected to the cartilage above them. The last two, the floating ribs, have their cartilages ending in the muscle in the abdominal wall. The configuration of the lower five ribs gives freedom for the expansion of the lower part of the rib cage and for the movements of the diaphragm, which has an extensive origin from the rib cage and the vertebral column. The motion is limited by the ligamentous attachments between ribs and vertebrae. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #snsphysiotherapy

Keratoconus is a condition that affects the shape and clarity of your cornea, the transparent layer that covers the front of your eye. It causes your cornea to thin and bulge outwards into a cone-like shape, which can distort your vision and make you sensitive to light and glare. Keratoconus usually starts in adolescence or early adulthood and can progress for 10 years or more. It can affect one or both eyes, often differently. In this blog post, we will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about keratoconus. If you have keratoconus or know someone who does, this post may help you understand more about this condition and how to cope with it. #optometry #ophthalmology #keratoconus https://lnkd.in/eagTht5P
