ITD24 Keynote + reminder Call for contributions   First keynote announced  We are pleased to announce the first keynote speaker of the #ITD24 conference! Mieke Bal, cultural theorist, critic, video artist, and curator, will speak about her concept of ‘Inter-ships’. The title of her keynote is: Inter-ships: On Being In-Between in Cultural, Disciplinary, Subjective and Medial Encounters. Mieke Bal has published over 40 books and her view of #interdisciplinary analysis in the Humanities and Social Sciences is expressed in what she has termed “cultural analysis” and through "travelling concepts”.  Read the full abstract of her keynote on the ITD24 website.   In a couple of weeks we will be announcing the other plenary speakers, so keep an eye on the conference website.  If you are curious to learn more about the conference programme, we have published a preliminary timetable. The exhibition 'When Images Remain' questions the context in which the role of art in education (has) developed within TU Delft, and the role of art in (technical) education of tomorrow. The use of images in education and literature is mostly for clarification purposes, accompanying text descriptions. When images appear without description it becomes difficult to interpret their meaning or context. At the TU Delft we have a collection of images from the 1900’s that is an undescribed record of perspectives. How can we learn from these images today and into the future? And how can we highlight the importance of images in knowledge transfer and in transferring scientific and social skills? Join us for the Panel Discussion: Reframing the Perception of Art in Education at TU Delft on 15 May preceeding the unveiling of the exhibition ‘When Images Remain. A Visual Polemic in 8 Acts’.
