HR & Agile: Outcome Driven Innovation (ODI) & Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) 1️⃣ (Re-) Discover powerful approaches? 🌟Do you know ”Jobs-to-be-Done” (#JTBD by Clayton Christensen Institute) and/or “Outcome Driven Innovation” (#ODI by Tony Ulwick)? Two pillars of agility that have unfortunately perhaps been somewhat overlooked by other agile methods. 2️⃣ Revisiting JTBD & ODI: Unveiling the Forgotten Gems 🌟JTBD Concept: What are the true needs and goals of our employees and leadership team? JTBD urges us to shift perspectives and focus on delivering real value by understanding the jobs our stakeholders expect us to fulfill. 🌟ODI Method: ODI provides a structured framework to translate JTBD theory into actionable practices. By deeply understanding customer jobs-to-be-done, ODI could help to empower HR to drive effective innovation efforts, leading to better outcomes. Special thanks to Martin Pattera for the reply/input to my last post 💚 3️⃣ Challenges in HR: Breaking Down Silos and Cleaning Up Practices 🌟Traditional HR practices often lead to inefficiencies and dissatisfaction among employees. “Silo mentality” inhibits collaboration and innovation, while outdated practices hinder productivity. Why not identify and eliminate ineffective practices, boosting productivity AND employee satisfaction. 🌟Customer-Centricity: JTBD places a strong emphasis on understanding customer needs, aligning perfectly with HR's mission to serve leadership and employees. ODI complements this by providing a systematic approach to innovation. Agiles “Jobs-to-be-Done“ (JTBD) in HR/People&Culture, Silos & Disruption! Ideen... 1️⃣ JTBD-Konzept Durch einen Post von Jan Schmiedgen entdeckt: #JTBD ist ein agiler Ansatz, der sich darauf konzentriert, die "Jobs" oder Produkte zu verstehen, die wir in unserem Fall als HR oder People & Culture erledigen für unsere Mitarbeiter und das Leadership-Team oder eben ➡ die diese von uns erwarten. ⬅ 🌟 #Perspektivwechsel: Was wird von uns erwartet? Was ist echter Mehrwert? Verstehe die wirklichen Bedürfnisse und Ziele, um Lösungen zu entwickeln, die Deiner Zielgruppe gerecht werden! 2️⃣ JTBD & HR/People&Culture In vielen Fällen sind wir von traditionellen Methoden und Outputs geprägt, die möglicherweise nicht mehr den Bedürfnissen der Zielgruppe entsprechen. Oder Prozesse und Richtlinien zu verfolgen oder sogar neu zu implementieren, die vorgegeben werden, "weil es Andere so machen". Oder eben wir beschäftigen uns damit, "weil es schon immer so war“, letztendlich #FakeWork. 3️⃣ #Silos & #Praktikenputz von intrinsify Ich bin über den neuen #DeepDive #Silodenken von und mit Lars Vollmer zu einem älteren Artikel von Mark Poppenborg gelangt, m.E. immer noch aktuell. Im Rahmen der Organisationsentwicklung befasst sich der Praktikenputz damit, veraltete oder ineffektive Praktiken zu identifizieren und zu beseitigen, um die #Produktivität UND #Zufriedenheit der Mitarbeiter zu verbessern. 4️⃣ Fazit, JTBD machen! ...jetzt! ⭐Fokussierung auf Bedürfnisse/Ziele von Leadership/Mitarbeitern. ⭐Fokussierung nur auf tatsächlich notwendige Arbeitsaufgaben/Ziele. ⭐Wir fördern und entlasten unsere Mitarbeiter:innen. ⭐Wir liefern der Zielgruppe die richtigen Ergebnisse/Produkte/Services. ⭐Ergo: Praktiken eliminieren, und ggf. neu entwickeln, und nur die, die den Bedürfnissen der Zielgruppe gerecht werden! 💚 Also, raus aus dem #Silodenken, entwickelt ein tiefes Verständnis der Zielgruppe und ihrer Arbeitsumgebung, stellt Euch bei der Umsetzung in traditionellen Organisationen den starren #Hierarchien und #Prozessen; habt echten Willen zur #Disruption. JOBS TO BE DONE! 💚 ...oder was denkt ihr darüber? ----------------- Links zu weiterführenden Artikeln rund um #JTBD und von intrinsify im ersten Kommentar. und 5️⃣ + Zusatz 🏹 Einbettung in andere #agile Methoden: #JTBD kann m.E. auch gut mit anderen #agilen Methoden wie #DesignThinking und #LeanManagement kombiniert werden. Während Design Thinking sich m.E. stark auf die kreative Lösungsfindung konzentriert, bietet JTBD zusätzlich eine klare Struktur, um die tatsächlichen Bedürfnisse der Zielgruppe zu verstehen. Lean Management wiederum hilft zusätzlich dabei, ineffiziente Prozesse zu identifizieren und zu eliminieren, was z.B. gut mit dem Ansatz des Praktikenputz in Einklang stehen könnte.
