Sexual Differences	Male develops yellow throughout head, body and fins. Bottom half of head is blue, blue speckles throughout body and in the dorsal, caudal and anal fin. White rim along dorsal. Female is grey/brown. Females may show some faint yellow in the fins especially in wild caught and G1 strains.
General Information	This is a smaller peacock. Looks similar to an A. maleri however the forehead on A. baenschi has a curved slope rather than a straight slope of A. maleri. Located at Nkhomo Reef. Found mostly in intermediate zones. Diet in the wild consists of microinvertebrates found in the sand. The aquarium should have some rockwork but still provide open swimming space both along the bottom and mid-tank region. Feed a quality cichlid flake/pellet food, supplement occasionally with frozen brine, krill or mysis. Keep one male to several females, do not keep with other Aulonocara species as hybridization can occur.
