Common on inshore reefs.  Yellow, shading to gray above, caudal penuncle and rays pale, small blue spot on upper caudal peduncle, blue ear spot, blue lines on head, pink spots on cheek.  Juveniles yellow with neon blue lines above and black ocellus on dorsal fin, indistiguishable from Pomacentrus grammorhynchus.  Attains 3.5 inches.   Indonesia to Okinawa, Palau, and Vanuatu.
