It looks like Adrian Peterson wasn’t happy with all the pregame talk about his punishment.

Breaking his silence for the first time since being indicted by a grand jury on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child Friday, the star running back took to Twitter just before kickoff Sunday.

Peterson didn’t directly address the situation, instead tweeting out a photo of a highlighted section from a Christian book.

“COME TO ME AND REST. Give your mind a break from its habitual judging,” the passage from Sarah Young’s “Jesus Calling” begins. Young’s work was identified by ChristianPost.com.

Minnesota deactivated Peterson for Sunday’s game against the Patriots within hours of the indictment going public in the wake of a nightmare week for the NFL.
