Wild tarragon is a traditional kitchen herb that is also suitable for natural landscaping. The straight species may have varying flavor or aroma. The latin word 'Dracunculus' means 'little dragon' perhaps in reference to its fiery flavor.

Easy to grow in any well-drained spot in full sun. Drought tolerant. Aromatic foliage is deer and rabbit resistant. Not likely to flower or set seed in our cold climate, but will slowly spread by rhizome. Divide clumps every 3-4 years.

Dislikes high humidity.
