Biography: Fay Wray was a Canadian-American actress best known for her iconic role as Ann Darrow in the 1933 film King Kong. Her performance, featuring a series of blood-curdling screams and a unique on-screen chemistry with the animated Kong, earned her lasting fame and cemented the film as a classic of American cinema.

Beyond King Kong, Wray had an expansive filmography, appearing in more than 120 movies. She began her career during the silent film era and successfully transitioned into talkies, a feat that many of her contemporaries struggled with. Her other notable films include Doctor X and The Most Dangerous Game, both released in 1932.

Though often typecast into horror and thriller genres, Wray sought a variety of roles. She worked well into the 1950s and then took a break from acting, returning for sporadic film and television roles and ultimately retiring in 1980.
