Biography: One of Wesley Snipes' early roles was the Michael Jackson video "Bad" directed by Martin Scorsese. The role got him noticed by filmmaker Spike Lee and led starring roles in Lee's films "Mo' Better Blues" (1990) and "Jungle Fever" (1991).

Lee went on to become a major Hollywood actor appearing in such box office films as "White Men Can't Jump" (1992), "Passenger 57" (1992) and "Demolition Man" (1993) with Sylvester Stallone.

Since 1998 Snipes has played the Marvel superhero Blade in the Blade film franchise.

In 2008 Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for failing to file income tax returns; he served 28 months.
