15 New Noriker Test Stallions |
Piran Vulkan by Primas Vulkan/Photo: Eva Kaswurm Out of 41 signed in young stallions, 35 horses born in 2014 as well as two older stallions stepped up. Fifteen of them could fulfil the strict requirements and, subject to positive check of descent, were chosen for breeding and entered into the books as test stallions. At the Equine Centre Stadl-Paura, breeders of Noriker horses met on Saturday and found the perfect background there with many spectators who had come. Thirty-six stallions from all lines of stallions were tested and positively finished the measuring and nationalising as well as the checks of the vet and the farrier on Friday. This way, they could show their qualities on Saturday when the presentation on hand and the loose walking were on the programme. The commission was made up of one representative for every ARGE Noriker member association, and they judged strictly but justly. Fifteen stallions were in the end approved to be chosen for breeding as test stallions.
The win of the day was taken by Piran Vulkan VXIII (by Primas Vulkan XVII) of the breeding stables Ossiacher Tauern. The dark-brown young stallion is expressive and very true to type. Bred by Niko Zwitter from Feistritz/Gailtal, the stallion convinced by featuring a balanced and appealing conformation. The runners-up position was celebrated by Eis Nero XIV (by Einstein Nero XII). Yet another dark-brown stallion from the breeding stables Ossiacher Tauern, bred by Werner Schuster from Rosegg, the horse impressed with size and masculinity combined with a very good movement in the trot. This stallion was sold to the Noriker horse breeding association Tyrol. Hermann Wieland from Tamsweg had bred 3rd placed Preber Elmar XVI (by Piano Elmar XV). Raised at the breeding stables Stoissen, the black piebald presented himself expressively and big with an appealing profile and correct gaits. Preber Elmar XVI was bought by Federal Horse Breeding Association Carinthia and will be used by the Carinthian leopard breeders. |
