Rough-stalked feather-moss
Rough-stalked feather-moss is an unusual moss because it readily grows in abundance under vascular plants (ferns, clubmosses, horsetails, etc.). Unlike many moss species, it can form dense mats of growth under stands of trees, and it may play a crucial role in the recycling of nutrients beneath other vegetation.
