Bungie previews the returning Cosmodrome location in Destiny 2: Beyond Light

As part of its new ViDoc this morning, Bungie revealed some new footage of Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the roadmap for Season of the Hunt. But the ViDoc also revealed something near and dear to old school Destiny players: the revamped Cosmodrome.

The Cosmodrome in the original Destiny is set in Old Russia, and it’s where players first wake up on their journey. Bungie has revitalized the Cosmodrome in Destiny 2 as part of the Destiny Content Vault, and players can return to their old stomping grounds on Nov. 10, alongside Beyond Light.

The Cosmodrome remake will also be home to the new players’ experience, a kind of revamped tutorial for new Guardians — although existing players can also check out the tutorial questline. Players will run into Shaw Han, a fellow Guardian who will show new players the ropes. By the look of the ViDoc, Shaw Han will also serve as the Cosmodrome’s vendor.

With Shaw Han unmasked in the image above, the latest Bungie video officially debunks the fan theory that Shaw Han is the infamous Uldren Sov. Uldren will instead appear as part of Season of the Hunt.

Bringing the Cosmodrome to Destiny 2 also means adding things that didn’t exist in the original game, namely an accessible map and Lost Sectors. Bungie previewed the map during the ViDoc, which you can see in the Gallery above.

There are some noticeable changes to the map, notably that The Divide, The Gateway, and The Rocketyard are all missing. Earlier this year, Bungie did say that the Cosmodrome will launch incomplete and will get two old Strikes and more playable space later in Year 4.

The Cosmodrome will return to Destiny 2 when Bungie launches Beyond Light on Nov. 10.
