Easter Egg Chalice: Do you have any chalice corals in your tank?

With the recent celebration of Easter, it brought the Easter Egg Chalice to mind for many reef keepers. So today let’s talk about chalice corals. Like many corals, water quality and water stability are important for these corals. While they can adapt to a wide variety of lighting, placement is another aspect that shouldn’t be overlooked because of their ability for aggression. The amazing color morphs and the ability to be fragged has made chalice corals a favorite of many in the hobby. Do you have any chalice corals in your tank? Please share any tips or recommendations on chalice corals and we’d love to see pictures of the chalice corals in your reef tank!

“We differentiate ourselves from other vendors by offering our customers full transparency into our facility and practices. Setting the industry standard for shipping techniques, accurate high-quality photos, hard to find corals, and customer service. For some hobbyists buying live coral online can seem like a risky endeavor. At WWC our staff takes the worry out of the equation by culturing extremely healthy corals, giving you a hassle-free guarantee, and providing you with a full online customer service team to ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase.”

I've got a really cool Golden Eye in my Deskmate. Started out as a small triangle (11 months ago), and has probably grown 4-5x. Started out with 3 eyes, and now has 10, with what looks like 2 more forming as we speak. I love this guy. Looks good under whites, but those golden eyes really POP under blues!

I think I even have an Easter Egg Chalice! But maybe not. Maybe it's a Jolly Rancher. I forget, I have 4 total.

Back in the mid 2000's or so, when chalices were quite new to the hobby and all the rage, I went in with a buddy on a nice size frag of the OG Tyree Watermelon. I think we paid $300 for it. 300 today might not be (as) much, but 18 years ago there weren't too many corals going for that kind of price tag. I lost everything in a tank crash back in 2008/09. I'll get another frag of that watermelon one day. It's always been a favorite of mine.

Yeah, I have one, but no I have idea what it might have been called when I bought it. I think the vendor said something about hollywood, but I didn't know what the name meant at the time. To me it was "Pretty" :) I'm too new to the game to have learned all the fancy names yet...

Yours looks like maybe a Raja Rampage, Miami Hurricane, or Space Invader?
