I absolutely love these guys and I want one bad! I'm wondering what opinions are on having one in my 126g? I know these guys are recommended for nano tanks but how would they do in a larger well-established system (loaded with copepods) as part of a community of peaceful but curious wrasses? Thoughts?

You'd probably never see it again, they are tiny when they come in, often less than an inch.

What kinds of wrasses do you have? I imagine any in the halichoeres genus might consider slurping one down.

Right now my wrasses include an XL lineatus, a magma fairy, pintail, earlei and a crescent tail. I have a lennardi, laboutei, rhomboid, flame and ventralis anthias trio on the way in the next weeks. I figured it wouldn't make sense or be a good idea to add one of these gobies, but I was hoping to be wrong here though. ;)

For the cost of these little guys (though it seems like cost of fish isn't an issue to you haha) I wouldn't risk it. Would be cool in a small fuge section of a sump though.

These are very small. Notice in the picture that this specimen is only the size of about three pieces of gravel.

I don't lnow, I have a 120 gal and I LOVE all the tiny fish. I have 2 Ruby dragonets, a scooter blenny, and a neon goby and I see them quite regularly. My LFS guy told me I would never see my scooters too. I think it is kinda fun, makes it exciting when they are out and about! ;)

I may eventually just set up a pico or nano tank in order to house this little guy. This fish is an increasing obsession for me. ;)Thanks for the input. :)

I have one in my 60 g seahorse lagoon.
I see it every couple of months in the evening when I feed.
Mine has reached 2" so far. 3 years old.
Great fish but definitely a cryptic cave dweller.

Someone I know put one in a 50 gallon and never saw it again. These are good for 20 gallons and less.

They will jump as well. Mine jumped one night. Thankfully I left a bucket with saltwater near the tank and he landed right in it. Saved him the next morning

Lucky little guy, I'd say! ;)

I have had one for about 4 years now. I have only seen it 6 time. Once changing tanks once changing sumps and 3 time while just looking at the tank. Def cool watching it flash its front fin

I had 1 in a 20 gal IM fusion and after it was put in the tank I never saw it. The fish are beautiful but they disappear. Also small doesn't describe it, had mine for 3 years and never reached an inch long.

They are awesome fish, Mike but just not for the average hobbyist.
I have tried many times in a nano but never was successful to keep them long term.
Don't know what it is why they just won't work, maybe cause they so tiny or the food.
Any ways some fish aren't just ready for the trade yet IMO.

Had one in a 15 litre nano with minimal rockwork and never saw it. They are amazingly cryptic due to their size which I guess is a lot of why they cost so much. Had panda gobies in there as well and they were exactly the same. Lucky this was in a shop and some bought them.
so I'd file under very cool but not for most people.
