So, my green star polyp has been one of my fastest growing and most beautiful coral in my Biocube. I just noticed these two neon green parts on the base tonight. Is this my GSPs base growing out?

First pic is when I bought it 5 months ago.

The last picture is from tonight. Hard to get a good picture, but the bottom right of the picture is where the two neon parts are.

Yep. See the little purple "tubing". It sends runners out like ivy in addition to spreading its mat

Awesome. First time seeing this. Pretty incredible! New to reefing still and I'm learning something every day.

Just curious if they look sorta swollen and the little white centers look much larger when they are growing after a water change?

Can anyone tell me what the finger things on the polyps are called and used for? The white centers as well?

That's crazy I can't get my Gsp to grow for the life of me but all my Zoa/LPS and birdnest all grow great.

Yeah that's weird. Zoas/polys and the like require the same things as GSP. I can grow acro, chalice, zoa/polys, but can't keep chaeto to save my life. I think most of us have that one type which eludes us. To those who can grow everything, screw you [emoji4]

I have a lot of it, love it... but it will take over anything it is on if not trimmed back, mine has actually went from the rock, across the sand and started up the glass .... started about a quarter size, now probably 6 inches in all directions

Somebody said they have it covering the bottom of the tank with no substrate. I'd like to see that.

I'm new and ignorant. Is gsp a plant or animal? Kinda confused about this part.

I guess that would explain the baby snails and the crabs wearing new shells in the morning.

GSP is a soft coral polyp (green star polyps). Others will claim they take over their tanks. I can only surmise that these people stay away from their tanks for months at a time. They can take over your tank in much the same way grass takes over your lawn. Spend 10min on the weekend and it's done.

Ok this is kinda strange...I was looking at the gsp earlier and a dark really fast bug? Not sure was under it. What could it be? The gap looks fine. It was a little smaller than a pencil eraser.
