I was wondering if this is actually a bottle brush acropora? That is what i bought it as,but ive never seen a non-solid colored bottle brush (blue,green,yellow,etc.). This one is a bright purple body, kinda, and solid purple tips with neon green polyps.

Here it is

If this is a new shipment ... chances are it will change it's colors regardless. The bright purple could be due to stress ... (if it's a newly arrived coral).

If not ... dang it's a keeper!! Nice!!

The wysiwyg picture was also purple. I did not import it or anything. I bought it from a well known retail site, you all can probably guess. I hope keeps its color!

yeah i saw that on divers den labeled as subglabra.

Thats where I got it from. It just didn't look like any others i've seen, which was why I was asking on the sp. It looks COMPLETLY differant from the green bottle brush colonies you often see for sale.

Idk when/if ill frag it... I might cut a few branches off and distribute them for back up,incase something happens to mine. But beside that I would like to keep it as a whole.

I had this pic in my coral pics folder for awhile. I found this picture on the internet. I forgot where. Yours looks like the same coral. Congrats.

Mines branches are not NEARLY as thick. But I guess lighting/flow/etc. helps change that. Thanks for confirming it steezy.

True.
If you place both pics side by side there isnt that much of a difference. I'm 99.99999% sure it's the same coral. Im not so sure its truly a subglabra but I like the fact that they label all their corals by their scientific name rather than hype it up with some ridiculous name and jack the price.

I guess only time will tell! But as of now I will call it subglabra.
