Mornin' folks!

Yesterday I went to the LFS to check out their new shipment of fish. This shipment came from a new wholesaler who apparently got mixed up with a few fish and critters they sent out.

I found this goby, the only of it's kind in the store, and for some reason I was curious about what it was. I asked the LFS employees what they had it labeled as and they said it came in as a Wheeler's prawn goby, but it looks nothing like a Wheeler's. Anyways, I ended up getting the little fella, the price was right and I am in desperate need of some sand sifters.

Here he is this morning:

What do you guys think he is?

I vote steinitz. I didn’t think these were sand sifters?

It's Amblyeleotris diagonalis.
I think that's a winner! The red stripe on the anal fin is a distinctive feature on my goby as well. Thank you!

It will work the sand around its burrow. Gunky sand under and around my rocks is what I have the most issue with, these little prawn gobies will go underneath the rock where it has its burrow and pull some sand out, mixing it as a result.

Not as good as a jawfish, but they still do a pretty good job.
