SCIENTIFIC NAME - Amblyeleotris guttata

COMMON NAME - Orangespotted Shrimp Goby

SIZE - 3.5" (9 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 20 US Gal. (76 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet, live or frozen mysid shrimp, vitamin enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped table shrimp, frozen preparations for carnivores, feed min. 2 times a day

REEF COMPATIBILITY - A threat to small ornamental shrimp, otherwise, an excellent reef fish

CAPTIVE CARE - Forms symbiotic partnerships with nearly blind alpheid shrimps, Well suited to aquarium life and not aggressive, except towards other males and possibly females, keep only one per tank or a proven pair, can keep more than one in a tank if big enough and with lots of hiding places, a fine sand bed and loose coral rubble is needed, may jump out of an open top tank, the shrimp digs the burrow and the goby shares the site, a shrimp is not required for success with this fish.
