Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ein Seeigel so schnell sein kann. Er sammelt unterwegs alles auf, was nicht niet- und nagelfest ist. Auf veralgten Scheiben und Steinen hinterlässt er Fraßschneisen.

ABER:
Vor ca. 4 Wochen hat mein Seeigel über Nacht sehr viele Stacheln abgeworfen. Bei meiner Recherche in verschiedenen Foren habe ich erfahren, dass dies ein Zeichen von Stress (hat er bei mir nicht) oder Verhungern ist. Seither füttere ich ihn regelmäßig mit getrockneten Sushi-Algen aus dem Chinaladen. Sein Stachelkleid wird wieder dichter und er ist auch wieder agiler im Becken unterwegs.

Fazit für mich war, dass es zumindest in meinem Becken notwendig ist, einen Seeigel zuzufüttern.

Ich hatte mir gegen die Algen einen Seehasen zugelegt. Der lebte leider nur drei Tage. Er ist von einer Tanzgarnele attakiert worden, bis die ihm die ganze Aut abgefressen hatte. Tot.
Jetzt habe ich diesen Seeigel. wer hängt gleich mal dran? Die Tanzgarnele und frisst an den kleinen Härchen. Abwarten.

Pflege das Tier seit 3 Jahren.Prima Algenfresser, der aber auch sehr gerne Kalkrotalgen frisst. Er ist auch gerne Stellen der hinteren Beckenscheibe unterwegs, die schwer zum Reinigen zugänglich sind um dort die Algen abzugrasen. Zur "Tarnung" schleppt er auf seinem Rücken immer ein paar Steinchen mit. Schönes Tier, das durchaus zu empfehlen ist.
