Diese Rindenkorallenart ist im Gegensatz zu den bunten bzw. farbigen Gorgonienarten leicht zu halten.
Sie braucht bzw. verträgt allerdings auch viel Licht.
Bei uns ist die Ströumg eher schwach bis mittel. Diese Art wächst sehr gut.

Diese Gorgonie kann man sehr leicht vermehren: Einfach mit einem scharfen Messer einen Zweig abschneiden und in ein passendes (nicht zu kleines) Loch in einem Stein stecken.

Die perfekte Anfängergorgonie.
Gut zu unterscheiden von der P. bipinnata, die einen lilafarbigen Stamm hat, die P. americana ist komplett braun.
