Care guide Halichoeres wrasses

A fantastic reef safe wrasse that also does a useful job eating common pests such as Flatworms, Bristleworms, and Nudibranchs. Can be kept singly, in pairs, or in groups. Can be kept with most other small Halichoeres species. All individuals start life at females and grow to around 2”-3”, the largest Halichoeres wrasse in the aquarium then changes into a male and may reach as much as 4”, sometimes even a little more. Suitable for tanks 100 litres or larger.

SIZE

They are generally 2” to 3”, some specimens may reach 4”, rarely more.

COMPATIBILITY

Reef safe. As with many types of wrasse it may bury in the sand and hide when moved to a new aquarium. Most wrasses are out and about within a day or two, but, some take 3 weeks or more to appear. Don’t worry they will be coming out and feeding at night. We recommend feeding a minimum of twice per day on suitable frozen food. Some small reef fish can jump from an open topped aquarium, we recommend using a tight fitting lid with no gaps.
