Reef Safe: Yes Care Level: Easy Temperament: Aggressive Diet: Benthic invertebrates Natural History: The Elongate Dottyback is found around coral heads and rubble at the edge of the reef flat, along reef slopes and along dropoffs. It is observed in recesses and small protected areas, darting out to capture plankton. Husbandry: The Elongate Dottyback is a rare fish in the aquarium trade. It is hardy and an excellent reef tank fish. It is not as aggressive as other dottybacks. Only one should be housed per aquarium, but because of its small size it can be kept in nano-systems. These dottybacks should be provided with plenty of rock for hiding places in the home aquarium. This species can be aggressive with other benthic fish in a small aquarium.
